Christians Aren’t Called to Be Broke (Let’s Talk Dominion)

Rylee Meek and Christian Edwards argue that Christians are called to build wealth and exercise dominion, rooted in the Abrahamic covenant. They trace this through Genesis and the new covenant, critique a poverty mindset in the church, and cite studies on net worth across religious groups.

Foreign. Everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the King's Council podcast. We are back in at it.
Back at it, baby.
Back at it. Welcome to the show. We're gonna talk about one of my favorite topics.
Oh, really? You don't say. That's funny because I say that every Wednesday on Bible study. This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
That is so true. If you're not joining us every Wednesday. Kingscouncilbiblestudy.com every Wednesday?
Yeah, like three and a half years we've been going, yes, absolutely.
It's been epic.
And we've never missed a Wednesday.
Not even one.
Not one.
Wow. It's phenomenal.
Yeah. I haven't done all of them. Caleb Spitler has done a good number as well, but yeah, we have never missed a Wednesday.
That's way more important than this podcast. Way more important than our coaching calls.
Yeah.
That we do. Yeah. Let's dive into this, man.
Yeah.
We are talking about partly about taking dominion in this.
Yes.
Right. Just in the fact, Based upon Genesis 28, the. The original commandment that we've been given to be fruitful, to multiply, to subdue this earth, to have dominion. When I read that, man, it's like we are called to increase. We are called to multiply in every aspect of our life. A lot of people take that verse and it's like, all right, we'll make babies.
Sure.
While that can be fun, Making them is fun. Raising them is hard.
It's hard. Yes.
Right. And that's really no different than. Than anything that we put our hands to. Right. It's. It's like the, the creation of it is. Is. Can be the fun part. But fulfilling that, seeing it through, the continual increase, that can be hard work.
Yeah. Is there anything harder on Earth that's more fulfilling than raising a child, Man?
I don't know. Good question.
Cuz that it. It's hard.
Yeah.
I remember. I mean, Lucy didn't sleep. I mean, she slept more than I did. And Ezzy didn't sleep for like a full two and a half, three years of his life. Yeah. Like he just would not sleep at night. And there was nights where we're literal zombies. And I don't know, like officially the. How medically you're determined to be sleep deprived, but Lucy, I. I probably was too, but Lucy 100% was sleep deprived. And you start to think about that, that's for a long time been a form of torture.
Yes.
Sleep deprivation.
That's so true. Right, Bl. Yeah. A crying Kid, Right, Right.
And then you raise that baby. Guess what? It's hard if you do it right. Sure, it could be easy if you're a deadbeat parent for sure. But if you actually raise your kids the way God wants you to raise them, it's very hard. But, man, there's nothing more fulfilling.
Yeah, that's true. That is absolutely very true. How do we get on that? Being fruitful, multiplying. We talked about that.
Yeah. You said making babies is easy. Making babies, raising them, that's hard.
It's fun to do.
It is.
But if you're married, if you're married in covenant with your spouse.
Yes.
If you're not, don't do it.
You're a sinner going to hell.
Don't do it. Don't do it. Well, we're diving into this. We are called to increase, and I believe that is what. What God commands us to do. And so how do we. How do we actually do this in a wholeheartedly way, how do we do this, but without the toil, without the pressures of what the world says that we're supposed to do? But how do we do this? By walking in the fullness of the kingdom. Right. And understanding what the kingdom is. It's Jesus's rule and reign in our life. Jesus is king. King, dominion or domain, excuse me, is used in the suffix in that word. And that's used more as a state or a being, like boredom or stardom or fandom. Right. So we are to experience. We are to walk in the kingdom, his present rule and reign in our life. What Jesus returned, that's what he declared that was at hand. And so we have the ability to walk in that. And riddled throughout scripture are principles and promises. Many, many, many, many, many promises of God, which I think we as Christians need to be more aware of what these actually are, because if we truly grab them, we truly understand what they mean, what it means to be an heir. Like, what. It means that if Jesus. Kings create more kings. And if you've given your life to Jesus, you are now operating. You are a new transformation. Right. You have been rebirthed as a king and a priest. Yeah. On this earth. And so what does that actually mean? What rights do we have? What, what availability? How about, do we have. Right, right. Because I really think that if you're, if you're truly walking in the kingdom, there shouldn't be a thing of lack. Right. There shouldn't be a thing of, I think money, wealth, possessions. I think poverty is. It's a spiritual thing Right. And. And I think you can be broke. Like, you can be. You can have less finances at time than other times. I've been broke a few times in my life. Right. But I was never in poverty. Right. And this is why I think it's a spiritual thing. And it starts in the mindset here of understanding, okay, what does it actually mean to walk in this thing? We're going to dive into something that. Bro, I never heard of this actually until probably about four and a half, five years ago again, when I started to dive into the word of God of like, all of a sudden somebody mentioned this, this Abrahamic covenant, and I'm like, huh, what?
Yeah.
Abraham.
What?
I didn't, I didn't know. This wasn't taught to me when, when I gave my life to Christ at 16. I went to. I attended great churches and things is what I. I thought. But this, I. This was never brought to my attention. And it's fascinating. It really is fascinating that we know this. We're going to read this throughout the Old Testament. But then what's so cool is that it's referenced in the New Testament.
Yeah.
And this is like, what that's, like, if we were ever questioning of, like, is. Okay, is that still. Is that. Is that under the, you know, the Old Testament? So it's, it's not real anymore. It's. No. Jesus came to fulfill the law. Right. And so all the principles and commands and things given in the Old Testament, they don't just go away.
Yeah.
Right. But he came to fulfill those things. There's plenty of principles that we can walk by, as you said. I think in a, maybe a week or two weeks ago, we look at scripture, we have to understand, is it prescriptive or descriptive?
Right.
Right. Like, is it something that we, we need to prescribe to or is it just describing the circumstances at the time? And it's. And there's, there's more of like, the moral of the story that we can gain from.
Right. Yeah. Is God speaking to a specific purpose person for a purpose in that particular time in history? Or is it like, we could put ourselves in those shoes and he's speaking to us just the same.
Yes.
Yeah.
And let's dive into this.
Yeah. We have to decipher that as students of the word.
Spiritual scientist.
Yeah, I guess I just, I just think of Scientology when you say that.
No, no, they're, they're.
They're spiritual. All right. But it ain't the whole.
There's no science involved with any of that mumbo jumbo. Yeah, but that's what they call it. But I love that because science actually backs up scriptures. It does. More than anything. It does, right. Yeah, I like that concept.
Yeah. I love when you come across a Christian who's like a legit archeologist or like a legit scientist who's like, just backing up everything. Yeah. In scripture with real theory of this. Yeah.
This is theology.
Right?
Right. Yes.
Amen. All right, so the Abrahamic covenant, Genesis 12. 2 to 3. God says this, right. He's speaking to Abram. His name is not yet Abraham. And I'll explain in a minute why God changed his name from Abram to Abraham. The Lord said, I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. And whoever curses you, I will curse. And all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. So this is the Abrahamic covenant. And a covenant is a promise between two parties. And you could have a conditional covenant and an unconditional covenant. This is an. An unconditional covenant. God many times from when he actually says this to Abram throughout his walk, and then he re. Reiterates this to his son Isaac, and then to Isaac's son Jacob, who. Whose name gets turned into Israel, many times he says, I will, I will. I will. This will be done 100%.
Yes. This is. This is so important. I love this too, because this is again, before he's Abraham. Yep. I. I kind of equate this to. Even just like, when we're building our businesses, we feel like, okay, I've got this download this vision. Is it from God? Is it not from God? And I think it's so important for us to really know that. Right. To understand. Like, is this just an idea that I ate some bad spaghetti last night? Or I feel like this is something that's. That's a birthing. That. That is. God has given me this thought, this idea that I can actually continue to cast vision here. And because that's something that I think we always have to go back to because again, when times get hard in business, we got to know, like, what did God really say? I have to remind myself that a lot of. Within the king's council here.
Yeah.
Right. Some of you know, there's been a few different times where, like, I just didn't want to do this anymore because there was a lot going on. And every single time that that happened, God reminded me whether it was some random dude walking up to me giving Me a word like immediately after I've verbalized.
I don't like in Omaha.
Yeah, bro.
That's what I was just thinking right now.
Wild. This is wild.
Or, or just mention that we were speaking at an event. It was just a one day event for some business owners in Omaha, Nebraska, at a church that we're partners with.
And yeah, it was just burnt out. Yeah, it was a season in life where we'd been going, man, and we'd gone through. It was a pruning season too. We'd gone through a little bit of drama and I was just like, we, we were fighting through it, fighting through it. And I was just burnt out in that time. And I, I stepped off from, from speaking. There wasn't a ton, maybe 50 or so, something like that. I stepped into kind of the side room and Caleb Spitler was there. He witnessed this whole thing go down, which is wild. And I just, I walked off and my next words were, I'm done. And he's like, you're. You're done. Like speaking. Because I was just like, no, I'm just done doing this, man. And he was like, wow. And grabbed my bag and we walked out. And it wasn't five seconds later, some random dude, I didn't. I don't even know if he was in the audience. This black, young, black kid that. He just walked right up to me, man, and he goes, hey, man, you need to continue doing this. God says, you're not done with this yet. Caleb was. I look over at Caleb. My mouth had to been like. My jaw draws on the floor. Yeah, yeah. And he just had a big. Caleb had a big smile on his face. He's like, yeah, all right. And so we continued.
Right?
And we're going to continue.
Yeah, well done. Here's a 20 bucks.
That would be hilarious.
Yeah. There wasn't even enough time. It was literally bang, bang.
Yeah, that was, that was, that was at a very. It was an encouragement at the time. And some of you may be feeling that burnt out season in your life and I think it's important to, number one, be surrounding yourself with those that can lift you up and help you push through those tough times. But I mean, I've got multiple times too where anytime. It was literally anytime that I actually verbalize it because I would have these thoughts, but when I verbalized it, I would get a random text from somebody in the community and that was. I just think it's so cool because it was them then being obedient to God in that time too.
Yeah.
Even that sure. I don't even know if that black kid was, like, in the audience when we talked. I mean, he might. I never saw him again after that. Yeah, right. Like, I don't know, maybe it was Gabriel. But it's. It's cool because other people's obedience actually. Right. They were being used by God in that time too. Right. And so maybe that's why some of you right now are even listening to this. If you're in business right now and you've been feeling like I'm burnt out, I just don't know if I can continue. I'm not saying this is from God, but I do know that you're listening to this right now for a time or a reason. And we may be talking directly to you in this of like, keep going, Keep going. If God gave you the vision, he will give you the capacity to fulfill it, but you have to keep going.
Yeah. And if you feel like we're talking specifically to you, let us know. Hit us up. Don't just put it in the chat, hit us up. Find a way to get a hold of us. Go to join kingscouncil.com. you know, there's ways to get a hold of us.
Absolutely. Absolutely.
Based on this promise that God made with Abraham. Well, remember, his name was Abram. This was in chapter 12. By chapter 17, he did change his name from Abram to Abraham. Abram meaning high father. Not like, hello, Father, like hi, opposite of low. And then to Abraham, just adding that H, change his name to a father of multitudes.
And how crazy is this? Because Abraham's got to be like, huh? Right. He's getting old. Old.
I got no children. My wife is barren. She's old. Probably more importantly, she's old.
Right?
Right.
Yes.
And it's like, okay. But ultimately it was Abraham's faith that justified him.
Yes.
And this is the foundation of this thing we call Christianity. Oftentimes people ask, well, how are people before the times of Christ saved? If the way you get saved is by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and, well, confessing with your mouth, believing in your heart that he's Lord God raised him from the dead. Yeah. Well, how do you do that? Well, what is it? Faith in Genesis 15, that's when the foundation of all of this was birthed, that we are justified through faith. If you trusted God in the Old Testament, you believe in the. The promises of God, the coming Messiah, then guess what? You're going to see those Old Testament saints, as we will call them.
Yes.
When we get to heaven.
Yes. Yeah. And what's wild, too, is, you know, Abraham's been given this. Abram's been given this. Now his name's changed to Abraham. And even in their mishap, right, where Sarah comes along and it's like, hey, there's no way I'm gonna have a kid. They try to go do things their way versus what was God's original plan, you know, that ultimately led to what is now Islam, which is crazy.
Yeah.
To really understand, if you really dive into that, of them having Ishmael and. And then what that ultimately led into is pretty crazy. Right. So there are ramifications of disobedience. Yeah, plenty of them.
Yeah. It's remarkable how, you know, in Hebrews 11, the chapter on faith, and we have the hall of faith, and people that are in there, it's like, wow. It's not like there's. They were spotless. Their resumes aren't spotless in faith. Yes. And. But God redeemed them, restored them, and ultimately their faith won out.
Yes, absolutely. And I think what's most important in this is that God's return. God's word does not return void.
Yeah. Right.
So even though they went and tried to do their thing to. To help God, as if he needed any help in this, he still fulfilled the promise, the covenant that he had with Abraham. Like, if there's anybody on this earth, in this world, in. In the spiritual realm, anywhere that we can trust, it's God.
Yep.
Right. And on his word.
Yep. All right, so this Abrahamic covenant included the promise of land. It was specific land. And God gives Abraham all the land that he could see. And the gift is declared to be forever. And then it's not until Joshua 21, where the Israelites. Right.
That.
Because it wasn't until they weren't even Israelites, until Jacob was Israel and he had kids.
Right.
And it was until Joshua 21, where they actually went in and possessed the land. But this covenant included land, possession of land.
Yes. There are three basic things within this covenant.
Yeah.
Correct. Land being one.
Yep. Yeah. We have land. We have promise of many descendants, and then the promise of blessings and redemption. So, but. But what I love also. I mean, there's also. I will make your name great. Okay. So obviously, like, I'm gonna make your name great. All of us, all of our names should be great. Because where. It's not just Riley Meeks, not just Christian Edwards, there's a king in front of that. Right. That's our identity. That's who we are. Our names are great because we are part of this family of greatness. And we entered that family of greatness when we were born again, when we said yes to the Lord.
Yes. We're not great because of any accounts of our efforts. Right, Right. Some of us are better at things than others.
We don't work for our greatness.
Exactly. Yes. We are great because God says we are.
Yes, yes. And you will be a blessing. This covenant says, which I think is huge when we talk about money and the church. Because if we're going to be a blessing, there's only so much you could do in the spirit through prayer. Right. You could pray, you can know somebody who's down and out. They have nothing, you have nothing to give them. And you could pray, pray, pray. But it's going to take somebody who actually has they. They possess something of value that they could then bring this person.
Yep. God has to operate through man. Right. That's ultimately what. What takes happen in the earth realm that. That work. What actually has to happen in the earth realm that we live in. Right. He's going to operate. Even if you're praying for the supernatural miracle of finances or something like that, the only way that that's going to happen is by another human being being obedient to what God's having them do in that situation.
Yeah.
Right. I want to be that person. You want to be the one that's being obedient there.
Yep. This covenant says that I will bless those who bless you. Promise of land. As I said, they didn't take full possession of the land until Joshua 21. Right.
Y.
But then the covenant also promised many descendants. And what's crazy is it says that Abraham's children would rival that of the dust of the earth. Nations and kings would proceed from him. And it again, as you mentioned, before their age, they don't have. I. I'm gonna have as many children as there are specks of sand on the beach.
Right.
But this thing ain't been working in some time. Right.
He's probably like, we better get to practicing Sarah.
Right. He needed transcendence life back then. Right. Get a juice of is flowing.
Right. Serious.
Yeah. And then as I mentioned, it included the promise of blessing and redemption that all the earth will be blessed through through Abraham. And the. The fulfillment of this is really the new covenant.
Yeah.
Right. We. We know about this new covenant. Jesus is the new covenant. And more specifically, Luke 22:20 says in the same way after the supper. Now this is the. The Lord's supper here. This is the night before he's arrested.
Yep.
Or, or the night he's arrested. I'm sorry, the night before he's crucified. And it says in the same way after the supper he took the cup saying this cup is the new covenant in my blood which is poured out for you. So the new covenant is the blood of Jesus. Yes, the blood of Jesus with. Without the blood, there will be no remission of sins. It's the blood of Jesus that saves us. So obviously the, the new covenant is our salvation through Jesus Christ. Our faith in Jesus Christ.
Yes, yes. Which is so amazing that you know, man fell right through God's, God's original plan. We fell and then back to. Okay, God's. God's word never returns. Void. So he had a backup plan. Right. He had to re. Colonize through Abraham the seed of Abraham to ultimately again had to happen through man to give birth to, to Jesus ultimately. And what I love so much and that I think you're going to go into next here is how all of this is, has happened, you know, thousands of years prior to this. And then all of a sudden when I first came across this, of this Abrahamic covenant and this understanding of what this is, was reading in Galatians and I'm like, wait a minute, what is this thing? And then I started have to dive into this and it's like holy cats.
Yeah.
This, it didn't go away because of the new covenant. Right. It's still in play.
Right. And we, we are now part of this covenant.
Come on as well. Come on, buckle up guys.
Yeah.
Get ready to hear this.
If it wasn't for this verse in Galatians, you would just think, okay, you know, you know, unless you just kind of put the pieces together and you're like, oh, I must be a seed of Abraham as well, you know. But specifically. And this whole passage here In Galatians, chapter three, I'm going to read through verses 26 through 29 says so in Jesus Christ you are all children of God through faith. For all of you who are baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise.
What's that promise?
Oh, that's the promise of blessings on blessings on blessings. That's the promise of land. That's the promise of a big, big family.
Yes. Yeah. Yes, yes. It's, it's it's prosperous. It's. It's. It's what it means to actually have prosperity. Right. And again, it's not. Just. Go back to our video on YouTube, the three secrets to a prosperous life. It's not just about money, wealth, and possessions. That is a byproduct of it.
Yeah.
But we are heirs. We are heirs of the one true king. And ultimately we have. We live on in the earth realm here, but we should be operating in the spiritual realm from the kingdom perspective. Right. And that's the authority that this grants us right here. But we have to be the ones that walk in this, according to this promise.
Yeah. And there will be ultimate fulfillment of this. Acts 3. 21 says there's a redeemer who will one day restore everything. Like, everything will be restored. And Romans even speaks of, you know, the. The Jews coming to salvation. Right. It says that all of them will be saved. Right?
That.
Like, how. How's that happen? What's that process?
Right.
You know, but. And we are now in this family of faith, and there is no Jew or gentile anymore. Right? We're. We're all one. And that's why. And I love this verse, because nobody is less than anybody else when it comes to the things that actually matter in this entire universe. We are all on the same playing field. It doesn't matter what the colors of your skin is, what language you speak. Doesn't matter if you're male or female. Doesn't matter how you were raised. Doesn't matter if you had good parents, bad parents, doesn't matter. We are all on the same playing field. We all have the opportunity to experience everlasting life, to be saved, to be born again, to be heirs of this inheritance of riches in heaven that we can actually occupy and walk in that authority right now here on Earth, or else why would Jesus tell us, pray thy kingdom come, Thy will be done. We're praying for God's kingdom, all that, Everything that's in heaven right now. Our prayer is that. That heaven meets earth and God allows heaven to touch earth through us.
Yes.
Kings and queens, come on.
You know, give some help in here.
With that new soundboard. We got to get some. Some organs.
Yes.
Yeah, tune me up, Riley.
Roger's gonna help us out with that.
Yep.
So if we understand this and what this really is saying, Guys, this is what I think. I think it was this episode that I said this to be in poverty and why I believe this is a spiritual thing. It isn't just like not having money. It's A mindset that we take on. Right. That it's, it's in. And ultimately I think what's, it's infiltrated the church in a, in a huge fashion over the last few decades. At least what, when I had first, you know, was even made aware of like what Christianity is when I was knowledgeable enough to understand it, everybody in my community, if you were a Christian, you were broke, you were broken, you were defeated. It was this woe is me poverty mentality.
Woe is me poverty mentality. I like that.
Oh yeah, it's not a good jingle, but it's a jingle, right? Shouldn't be so peppy, right.
Woe is me.
On next week's episode. Okay, this is what I think has infiltrated the church in this mindset that okay, we, we shouldn't walk with confidence and abundance and, and what that really means. Again, it's not all about money and wealth and, and, and things of, of things of that nature. Essentially this is just walking with the authority that God's given us and when we do that, we can start doing when we, when we pray your kingdom come on this earth, right. We are inviting him, we are asking him for, for him to come. And, and no longer am I just operating by the world standards or what, what the world tells me is successful. It's. No, I am operating as God, as Jesus is the present rule and reign of my life. And I'm going to walk in that with boldness. Right. This is, it's this time now more than ever that Christians need to stand up and fight and be bold and, and walk out their faith. Right. And absolutely do that. And this is why again, back when I was younger, it's like I didn't want to be a Christian, right. Which is like, yeah, how terrible, how terrible is that? Like, I didn't want that. I didn't know what it meant though, because the so called image bearers of that time is, and this is by all means, I'm not saying that if you're a Christian, life is easy. In fact, my life got extremely more difficult. Right. So this isn't like a sales pitch for it, but I'm telling you, you, it's, it's way, way worth it. There's nothing in comparison to my life today than it was even five, six years ago. Yeah. Because I've understood this. But it's taken work, it's taken discipline and, and you know, a call to obedience. But to, to walk this thing out. There's nothing more thrilling to being able to know that man, my Creator loves me. He cares for me. He wants what's good for me. He desires for me to prosper. That's biblical, baby.
Right.
But we have to own that. We have to, to not just accept it, but to actually own it and, and walk this thing on out. And, and why I say this, there's so many references in, in Scripture talking about helping the poor.
Yeah.
Right now, whole lot.
Like over a hundred.
Right? Yeah. There's a lot. And it's. Okay. How do I help the poor? Pray for them. I don't know, man. Maybe. But I also think that it can be difficult to help the poor if you are poor. Right. It's like we, we. We need to have that provision. Right. So it's not a call to be poor. Right. Scripture does say, blessed are the poor in spirit. Right. That it's, it's like, it's an understanding that it's not that, you know, I can do nothing apart from my, my God. I can do nothing apart from my Creator. And so it's, it's. It's laying down my life. And, and it's him that's able to actually fulfill.
Right.
It's him that we are able to have through his glory and his riches that we are able to walk in abundance.
Yeah.
Right. So it's. But from a financial standpoint, there's not a whole lot we can do to help the poor if we pour ourselves. Right. Right. Yeah. And. And this is. I think we have to have an understanding of this. If we're called to help the poor, we actually have to, you know, not be poor. Number one.
Yeah. If it was okay in God's eyes for us to be poor, he would just say, okay, just enjoy your riches.
Right?
Yeah. Don't help those other guys that are in need.
Right? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And it wouldn't be if we weren't to. How could we possibly help them if we are poor ourselves? Right. If being poor was a good thing, he wouldn't ask us to help the poor.
Right.
He would just say, stay poor.
Right.
And it's like, no, we're not called to do that. If you, if you've been given that ability to, to go make money, to go produce wealth, go do it.
Yep. Right.
Not at the first forsaking of your one true love, your creator, but you're called to do that. Right.
Yeah.
And it, it's. It's just part of this mandate that we've been given here and part of the covenant. Right. Again, what, what God has said, this is true. It will not return void. And we get to walk in. We get to partake in this covenant, this Abrahamic covenant as well.
Yep.
Yes.
That's good.
Oh, so much that I feel like we could go into on this as usual. We're always, you know, half hour into this thing.
Yeah.
I think for me, when it was understanding what, like, what a covenant actually is, is, it's a promise. Right. This means that it's done, it's signed, it's no different than God gave us the rainbow as a covenant that he's never going to flood the earth again. I watched the movie Water World, and I was never afraid that that's gonna happen. Right. Terrible movie, by the way.
I never saw it.
Oh, man.
That was one of the ones that, like, cost $100 million to make or something.
Yeah, yeah, it was. I think it was one of Kevin Costner's busts.
Yeah.
Yeah. But it's. I'm never afraid of that. Right. I'm not afraid of all the ice caps melting in this green movement. It's not gonna happen. Yeah, it's not gonna happen. God's covenant says it's not gonna happen.
Yeah.
Right now we should still take care of the Earth.
When I started here, all the stuff. And it's funny because it's like every eight to 10 years, they'll say, in the next eight to 10 years, like, something will happen. And then they'll be like, in the next eight to 10 years.
What happened to the last eight?
Yeah, everything's the same. But when I first started hearing this years ago about climate change and all this, and I would, like, watch the. The news in the morning or something, and they. They go through the weather. Oh, Today's temperature was 82. Record high for today was back in 1913 at 103. It's like, okay. Right. That was the record high. Good Lord. Climate change was really kicking butt then.
Yes. I love that they had. They had to it. Rather than call it global warming, they're like, we're just gonna call it climate change. It's like, okay. Because that we can't back themselves into a corner anymore.
Right, Right. Yep.
Yeah. Stupidity. That's what liberalism is. Perpetual contradiction.
But anyways, let's not make this political. Okay.
Everything is, man. It is. This is part of why we need to. We need to walk this out as Christians as well.
Yeah.
If you're gonna let the world dictate the policies on how you raise your kids, the policies on abortion, you have to get involved with this stuff. You have to Right. This is part of our mandate to take territory, to actually have dominion. If we're going to sit back and just let things happen. Because Jesus is going to return someday. Well, more than likely. Either you don't have kids or you don't care about them because I got a 12 year old and I freaking care about what is happening in this world. You got Ezzy, right? You got more kids, you got more grandbabies than Abraham here. This is why we're called, to partake in politics, partake in culture, join the school board. Do you have to do these things if you want Kingdom culture to, to even be around here for your kids to have a world to live in? Right. If you want them to go to a communist society, then just sit back and do nothing.
Yep.
But I'm willing to fight. I'm willing to fight for Ellie, for Ezzy, for your kids here, and I hope that you guys will as well. So let's get back into this Abrahamic covenant. I pulled up some, some stats here which I thought was interesting. Well, I think last week we even talked about the Kingdom economy. You know, the understanding of what that is and just knowing that this is, is, has, you know, stemmed from the Jewish people group. A lot of us have this. I mean I at least did. I think most people understand that Jewish people are known for their wealth. Yeah, right. Not all, but a lot of them. Right. And I think that's interesting.
That's a stereotype that seems to be pretty accurate.
It is pretty accurate.
Right, but aren't most stereotypes accurate?
That's, yeah, that's why they're called stereotypes, I think.
Yeah, yeah, they're, well, stereotype. Well, people say, oh, that's just a stereotype. But no, it's a stereotype because it's real.
Right. I think the reason why, I mean there's a number of reasons, but part of the reasons why the Jewish community is, is wealthy is their mindset on what it takes to produce wealth, what their responsibility is. They don't view it the way I think the enemy has infiltrated the church here, at least in America, on what it means. They actually walk in this authority, they take it seriously and they operate by Kingdom principles, these Kingdom money principles that we're going to be talking about over the next few weeks. And here's just some interesting stats. The median net worth of Jewish people. This was a few years ago. This was OSU Edu How Religion Helps Shape wealth of Americans study finds this Jewish people. In this survey, the median net worth was $150 $890. More than three times the median for the entire sample group, which is 48 grand. It's median net worth for conservative Protestants, which includes Baptist, Jehovah's Witness, 7th Day Advents.
That's not Jehovah's Witnesses.
Occult, I know. Yes. Most of these are. Yes. Christian Scientist. What is that?
Is that right? Well, obviously Ohio State University thinks that these all fall into the same category as Protestants.
Yes. Very, very flawed base group here. But what's fascinating is that that number was 26,200 bucks, or about half the overall average. So Christians are like, we're broke compared to even just the normal person that doesn't. I don't even want to call them normal. They' abnormal because they're not followers of Jesus, but they're. It's like they're making twice the amount. But Jewish. The Jewish population is three times that. It's fascinating. Right. But what's aggravating is that for Christians, what are we doing right?
Why.
Why aren't we the ones if, if Jesus came back and, and he. He brought this new covenant, but then also gave us as. As a promise this, this entire inheritance that we're just not, we're not taking hold of it.
Right.
What's going on here?
Yeah. And the numbers, I mean, it's six times more. The Jewish people make more than Christians.
Yeah. Six times, three times over. The, the, the abnormal people, right? Yes. But.
Yeah.
Six times more.
That's crazy.
That is crazy.
Yeah.
What are we doing?
Well, they.
Are we dumber.
They grow up believing that money is a good thing, that it's okay to charge people for things. And, and they're very adamant about when.
They do more responsible to charge people for things.
Yeah. They, they believe there's honor providing a service. They believe it's an honor to actually receive compensation for that service you provide.
Yes. And to do business with each other.
Yes. That's really the key.
10 to 13 times more than what Christians actually choose to do business with each other.
If you. For. If one year, one year, every Christian in America chose to only do business, only eat at restaurants, only shop at stores, only buy things that are Christian companies. And obviously the hope will be that all Christians, as they have this surplus of revenue coming in.
Yes.
They tithe on that surplus. And the church, obviously, as a whole is the beneficiaries of it.
Yep.
The, the amount of money, like whatever the American church as a whole is worth today, that number would be astronomically greater in just one year.
Yes. Yeah. And for Those thinking, well, they were. They're just not going to do it. They're going to spend it, they're going to blow it. I don't need to put more money in the pastor's pockets. That's not what we're telling you to do. We're telling you to be obedient. Right. Your. Your job is obedience. The outcome is up to God and every decision, everything that we actually do do.
Yeah.
Right. And so, and I'm not saying that it is a. A command that you can only do business with Christians, but we're talking about stimulating the kingdom economy here. Right.
But Dave Ramsey told me, shop around, get the best deal.
Right? Yeah. Look for the crappiest crap out there, and I promise your life will suck forever. Oh, maybe that's not it.
That's proverb.
Right? But. Yeah, but the point of that is, though, I believe it takes just as much, just as much faith to increase your way out of debt than it does to decre.
Right.
Dave Ramsey's model. And I'm not knocking it at all. If you're in debt and you're. You're financially not stewarding, well, then adhere to those principles. He's got some sound, sound principles within there that will help you develop a discipline. But if that, if you're. If that's not your problem. We just have to figure out how to make more money. There's always going to be a sense of stewardship that's going to be involved with this. Right. If you just make more money to blow more money, what are you doing there? Right. We want to make more money. We want to be the vessel again. If God can get money through you, he's going to absolutely get money to you. Right. And this is just part of stimulating this kingdom economy and walking in this authority of what this Abrahamic covenant, what this promise actually is. As heirs of him, we have access to this promise, but we got to walk this thing on out. We got to do this. It takes just as much faith to increase your way out of debt than it does to decrease.
That's good, right?
Still takes faith. But what are you going to put your faith in? Right.
Yep.
Your God of abundance or your Dave Ramsey of decrease? I don't know. Nothing against Dave.
Yeah.
Again, sound principles.
Yeah. What he talks about does help you to become a discipline steward. Yes.
Proverbs 3, 9 and 10 says, to honor the Lord with your wealth, with your first fruits, then your barns will be abundantly filled.
I like that one.
I like this because you'd mentioned Conditional and unconditional earlier. The Abrahamic covenant is unconditional, Right? Right. It's unconditional. This is conditional. Yes. Right. Does it honor the Lord with your wealth, with your first fruits? Then if you ever see if, then.
Yeah. That's conditional.
Yes. You need to go read that. That's a conditional promise. Right?
Yeah.
We just have to understand, like, scripture isn't that hard. You just got to spend some time and read it and understand it again, the context, everything that it's saying, but then actually walk it out.
Yep.
Right?
Yeah.
So we. We got this. The Abrahamic covenant. Yes.
Yeah. Back to that. If, then oftentimes people are like, oh, I pray, but God's not hearing my prayers. God's not answering my prayers. Well, look at all the if thens when it comes to prayer.
Yeah.
If you're not honoring your wife, your. Then your prayers will be hindered. If you pray with iniquity in your heart, then God ain't gonna listen. If you pray with the wrong motives, God's not going to hear.
Yes.
So it's like, okay, have you checked off all those boxes before you come and complain that God's not hearing your prayer?
Right.
Well, he tells you this is conditional. He will hear your prayer if you get all that stuff. Right?
Yes.
And then he's so good. If you have iniquity in your heart, confess it. And he's faithful to forgive.
Yes.
Right.
Yes. That's. I love Bible.
Makes sense, man. It does.
Is our operating manual, baby.
Yeah.
The problem is we're. We're walking out this life without reading the instructional manual first. Yeah, Right. If you're in. Most men do this. You buy a piece of furniture and you're like, I don't need to read the instructions. Right. Until you get three quarters of the way through, and then all of a sudden your dresser drawer is crooked and the doors on backwards and you're like, I don't know what happened. Yeah, well, you didn't read the instructional manual, baby.
Yep.
You just got to get in the word of God and then apply those things. You can read the manual, but it still. It takes the action takes the application to actually build, to actually do something with it. Yeah, right.
Nothing can make a man for. Feel more defeated than when you put together a big piece of furniture, something from Ikea, it's in a million pieces, and you're on step, like 172at 175, and you realize you. You skipped over step three.
Yeah.
And then you gotta take the whole thing apart.
I Just burn it.
Yeah.
There.
You probably would. You probably would.
No, I'm just known to call, I hire like a handyman.
Yeah, true.
Ash actually is the one that puts most everything together in this house. It's not that I can't.
The three of us put this together. She did most of it, but then there was something she could do on her own.
I remember that.
Yep. Yeah.
Yes, I do remember that.
Yeah. And if you can't see, there's a little table here.
Yes. Yeah. That was a good group effort project.
It was.
Yes. But dude. And that just, I think that's part of it as well. You can read the manual. I just love if, understanding, understand what it is that, you know, if you, if you don't understand what the operating manual is, I mean, call on, call a friend. Right. You phone an independent contractor. Right. You call the, the, the handyman of like, hey, man, I don't really know how to do this. Right. You dial up the 800 number in the, in the book. Call, call customer service. Dial up God, pray to him. Right, God, what, what do I need to do? And it's oftentimes prayer isn't just about you blabbing your mouth. It's about listening.
Yep.
Right. We've gotta, we gotta spend time in the Word and, and pray. Right. But then also spend time to actually listen and hear what he has to say to you. If you're not hearing anything, I gotta hint. Just read the Bible. This is how God speaks to most people. Yeah, right. It's, it's, it's not always that you're gonna hear an audible voice from God. Yeah, Right. But he speaks to us. This is living, active, is alive today just as much today as it ever was when it was very first written. Yeah.
Lucy has a prophetic gifting, as you know. And I, I, I just laugh sometimes when people call her because they know she's got this prophetic gifting and they're like, hey, you got a word for me? It's like I'm in the background, like, yeah, it's right here. It's called the Bible. Yes. Yeah. Start with this. Yes.
There's 66 books you could start to read about that word, right? Yep. God said, read your Bible.
Yeah. Meditate on it.
Meditate so that you may do what it says. All right, guys. So this was again an episode on the Abrahamic covenant. God's call to increase.
Increase, baby, increase.
And over the next few weeks, we're going to dive into more of these principles. Kingdom, money principles which are going to be incredible. Yeah, we've been.
You want to kind of tease it a little bit what those four principles are?
Sure, sure, sure. Yeah. First, principle number one, we'll dive into next principle of ownership. Yes. We know God owns everything, but we're gonna. We're gonna dive deep into this. We have pages and pages of notes that. Compiling, going back and forth on. So ownership, principle of stewardship.
Yep.
Right. We should all kind of have an understanding of that. But there's so much to unpack within that principle. The principle of worship. What does that actually mean? I think some of you are going to be surprised about what this actually is. I'm not going to give too much on that right now. And then the last one is the principle of kingship.
Right.
We are kings and queens. We are heirs and we get to walk in that. So what does that actual principle look like? That pro. That might be a couple parter. Who knows? Who knows? But stick with us here. Over the next few weeks, we're going to unpack these kingdom money principles and we will see you guys on next week's episode.
Peace.
