Genuine Christian faith must produce visible works and righteous behavior, or it's questionable whether you truly have faith at all. The speaker cites 1 John to argue you're either a child of God who walks in righteousness and love, or a child of the devil. Real faith shows itself in how you live.
If the byproduct of your faith is zero works, then do you even have it? You probably don't have real faith to begin with. So it is kind of a salvation issue. Sure. And if you assess yourself, because so many people, they say a prayer and they think they're in the kingdom and they have absolutely no fruit in their life that says that you are. Yes. You know, in 1 John, it says that there's two categories. You're either a child of God or a child of the devil. What? The child of God, he walks in righteousness and he walks in love. Yeah, right. So if you're walking in righteousness and love, people are going to be able to see that.
