God Owns Everything: The #1 Kingdom Money Principle

In this episode of the King's Council Podcast, hosts (Speaker A and Speaker B) launch the first installment of their "Kingdom Money Principles" series, focusing on the principle of ownership. They argue that recognizing God as the ultimate owner of all creation—including money, possessions, bodies, and relationships—is foundational for the other three principles (worship, stewardship, and kingdom kingship). The conversation weaves through numerous biblical passages (Genesis 1:1, Exodus 19:5, Psalm 24:1, Deuteronomy 10:14, Psalm 50, Haggai 2:8, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Corinthians 7, 1 Corinthians 7:23, Matthew 20) to illustrate God’s claim over everything. They discuss practical implications: how ownership reshapes attitudes toward wealth, health, marriage, and personal ambition; the need for stewardship as faithful management of God‑given resources; the role of the “five power pillars” (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, financial); and the parable of the workers in the vineyard as a lesson on divine fairness and grace. Throughout, they blend personal anecdotes, humor, and exhortations to self‑examination, urging listeners to ask whether they would willingly surrender their most prized possession to God, to view their bodies as temples, and to align their hearts with God’s ownership. The episode ends with a teaser for the next session, promising deeper biblical case studies.

Foreign. Everybody, welcome back to another episode of the King's Council Podcast. I put my hand up with you, man.
Yeah, you did.
You wearing off.
Solidarity.
Yes, Solidarity. Yeah.
Yeah. You know, this episode that hasn't been released yet as the time we're recording this, but we do a fist bump in one of these episodes if you're watching on YouTube and we totally, like, miss it. I remember. Yeah. Do you remember that?
No.
We did a fist bump and when we did it, I was like, oh, that was like, barely. We need to re record that and totally redeem ourselves. Right, right.
Super excited to have you guys back with us. If you've been listening to us for the past few weeks, we've been diving into money.
Money, money, Money. Your favorite subject. Yeah.
You know what? It is one of my favorite subjects.
It is.
Yes. I love it because I don't love money. Right. Because you know that is the root of all kinds of evil.
Right.
But I love the top because there's such power that had a lot of control over me for a number of years of my life. And thank God, by his just incredible grace and mercy, he's been able to open my eyes to really, truly what the kingdom is, is absolutely about.
Yeah.
And that's what we're diving into today. This is going to be the first of multiple parts of the Kingdom Money Principles series, right? Yes. Yes.
Dare I say series?
Yes. So if you guys know. I know we've mentioned this in some past episodes, some of our past even coaching calls and things that we have done. We talk about these Kingdom Money principles, and we've really boiled it down to four main principles that are pretty apparent throughout scripture real quick. They are ownership, which is what we're diving hard into today. Worship.
Yes.
Which is. We know what worship is, but how does that affect our money?
Right.
God's money.
Yes.
Correct myself on that. Because God owns everything, baby.
That's right.
Yes.
Don't. Don't spoil it for everybody.
Stewardship, which is a big one in kingship. K I N G Ship.
Kingship. That's become my favorite. Oh, yeah, yeah.
It's good to know you have a favorite on these topics.
Kingship.
Kingship.
Really walking in the authority of a king.
Can I get a witness?
We got to get the podcast team to get some organs.
Yes, they will. Let's dive into this, brother. Let's do it. Kingdom, Money, Principles. We are talking about ownership today. I'm going to defer to you.
Oh, thank you.
This thing.
Thank you. Well, as we did our abundance of research like we always do when we dive into these topics. And of course, you have to, because as you see with these books, you are author of a couple books and we are authors. We are. Yeah, we've discussed this. Yes. Well, we'll see if book three has my name anywhere. We'll see. But I digress. So ownership, and it starts with ownership. That's the number one principle. Because quite frankly, if you don't grasp the concept that God actually owns everything, you're not going to get the other three kingdom money principles that we're going to dive into. It's a tough pill to swallow, quite frankly, because think about. We're just talking about it earlier. Even when, when you have a baby, a young child, they immediately, they. They are possessive. What's theirs is theirs. They don't like to share necessarily.
Do you think Adam and Eve that way? So what you're saying is if, for those that have children or if you've been around a little brat, you guys know this, right? When they're playing with toys, they're just. It's like mine. And then someone steals it and they cry and freak out.
Yeah.
And that's just. I mean, they're born into this world and.
Yeah. Wicked little sinners. Yeah, that's right.
And we, we have this sinful nature that. That's in us. Right. That's it. But do you think Adam and Eve were like that?
Like after the fall? Believe after the fall?
No.
Before, Before? No.
Right. They wouldn't have been that way, right?
No chance.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Interesting to think about now.
How long were they together before the fall?
Right away, God's like, it's day one.
It was like 10 minutes later.
Oh, that's funny. Yeah, that's funny.
So we, we need to grasp this ownership. This ownership concept. And when we do, really, everything el. Flow from this. But when you look at scripture, there's so many references to God's ownership. Yeah. And a lot in the Old Testament, but some in the New Testament as well. And should we just dive into some scriptures and break these bad boys down? Yeah. Cool. So Genesis 1:1 starts there. Everything starts there in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. God created, God spoke. And like you say. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that sound effect.
We need that on our board.
Yeah.
Well, what's interesting on that, too, just creation. It's like science actually has backed this up that. That the universe itself is still traveling at the speed of light.
Right.
Right. When God said, let there be light. Right. God is Light. This is kind of, we're going into the seven step blueprint a little bit.
What's the speed of light? Isn't it like 162 million miles per second or something? Ridiculous.
I know that. That's incredible.
Yeah.
I don't know what that is.
Something like that, but it's fast. No, I, I actually, I was gifted as a young child. Maybe not so much now, but I actually was in a program called Young Astronauts for those who excelled in math and science. And yeah, I learned a little physics along the way. Yeah. And yeah, I think the number somewhere around there.
Young astronauts. All right. Yeah, you got all the chicks, didn't you?
Nah, not at that time, no.
That's great. That's great. So back into ownership on this first off. I mean, so many scriptures again. We'll start to run through some of these just to lay the foundation here. Before creation, God was right. And it's like we are his creation at the core of this thing. He created everything, the heavens, the earth, everything we see and touch. Now in, you know, 2024 when we're recording this, there are so many different things, but it's incredible that God has given us as co creators. With him, we get to co create all these things, but everything that we're creating from is still his ownership because he was the original creator of literally everything.
The source of everything.
Source of everything.
So every resource that we have, everything that we own or possess, we don't actually own anything. You can have a house, a car, anything even. We're going to get into scripture where we don't even own our own bodies. Right. Our bodies are the Lord's.
Yes. So which makes you look at your body differently.
Yeah.
Right. Or think about just your health. How are you taking care of your body?
Right. So you're talking about, you know, little kids saying it's mine, mine. Well, not exactly in that voice, but God actually said the same thing to Job. He said, who has preceded me, that I should pay him. Everything under heaven is mine. Everything, everything. So that's pretty inclusive. Yes. Yeah. Everything under heaven is mine. And he really lays the, the groundwork here throughout scripture, throughout the Old Testament. I mean, in Exodus 19:5, he says, all the earth is mine. Psalm 24:1, he says, the earth is the Lord's and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. So not just the earth is the Lord's, but all of us who dwell within the Lord. So literally everything is God's. Yet we still, we tend to be possessive Right. What's mine is mine, what's yours is yours. And we, we work to, to, to build our bank accounts. We work to grow our wealth, our possessions, materials that we have. We. And we, we just kind of grow up thinking, I work, I receive and what I have is mine. And we become very possessive of it. But being possessive really, I think comes from a lack of insecurity, right? We, we all have egos, right? We, we all have them. Obviously, when we surrender to the Lord, we get filled with the Holy Spirit, we become a new creation. And now the spirit of God, that seed of perfect divine nature that God has, has been implanted in us. And I mean, think about what John the Baptist said. He said, you know, help me to decrease and you learn increase. So we all have that ego that's still in us. But when we really grasp this, grasp the concept that, okay, nothing I work for, nothing that has been given to me, nothing is actually mine. Right? And, and it helps you just kind of loosen up that fist that you, you could potentially have when of holding on to your possessions.
Yep. Yeah. And one, one thing that I've, how I've kind of gauged my heart in any of these, you know, questioning of, okay, who truly owns this, I think it's really simple to ask yourself a question if, if God actually called you to, you know, think of your most prized possession, right? Whether it's your car or your house or your. Just your sense of security, your 401k, your savings, your bank account, your watch. Right? Like, but asking ourselves the question, like, would I, am I willing to give it up? Right? Like, is it for some, it's, as I mentioned before, the car, the bank account, whatever it is that you're finding your security. And we know that where your treasure is, there your heart is also. It's just a simple question of like, oh, anything but that, God, anything but that. And if you, if there's one thing that comes to your mind, that's it. Right? Even when you ask yourself, if God asked me to give that up, like, that's, that's it. That's the one thing. And don't be surprised if God asks you to give that up. Right? We serve a jealous God, right? That's. Scripture tells us that that seems like, no, wait, no, he's loving and caring. He is. He absolutely is. And he wants your 100% attention.
Yeah.
Right. And if there's anything else that's, that's taking that focus off of it, even if it's your drive for maybe it's your business for. That's what it was for me for long time. And it's like the drive for success or to build something that you can be proud of, it comes back to, okay, what's the reason behind this? Where's your heart's disposition in this? Is it because I know this is what God's called me to do in this season and I'm doing it for the Lord, right? We know scripture tells us that, that everything we are to do, we are to do unto the Lord. But I love just talking about this concept because it puts everything into perspective. The kingd money principles that we're, we're going to be unveiling here and talking about over the next number of weeks. None of them truly work. If you want to walk in kingdom authority, none of them truly work in independent of each other, right? If you want to have true freedom in Christ walking in kingdom authority on this earth, you got to master these four, right? And understand like what is God's truly saying in all four of these concepts that we're going to be talking about of ownership, worship stewardship and kingdom kingship? They're not, they can't be independent of each other, right? Like you can master ownership, but if your stewardship is poor and it's like I said, I don't even know where my watch is, that's poor stewardship. Shame on me right now for that, right? Because God gave me that. It's a pricey watch, right? I'm going to find it now. Maybe up all night. But your stewardship could be falling or your worship could be falling, right? Or your kingship could be falling. We have to understand all four of these synergistically and how they operate together for us to truly walk in the God, God given authority that he's given us.
Well, think about the young rich ruler, right? In Matthew 19, what did Jesus tell him? He said, go sell everything. Yeah. All of it. Because he knew the issue with this man. It was a matter of the heart Y and he wasn't willing to fully sacrifice. Surrender everything to Jesus. And if you really think back to the day you got saved, for anybody who's listening to this, who is saved, think about it. When you surrendered, you let it all go, right? It's like you release everything and fell into his ever loving arms, right? You just let it go. But even as believers, we could fall back into old habits of thinking like, oh no, what's mine is mine. Yeah, right. But it takes full surrender and that's. That was Jesus checking This. This young man's heart.
Yep.
Right. Yep. And he failed the test for sure.
Yes.
He failed the test. I love Peter. Right. Because Peter, after, he's like, Jesus, we. We sold, we left everything. What do we get?
Right.
I love Peter.
Yes.
Yeah.
So back to ownership on this. Even. Even from the beginning of time. I think I mentioned this maybe on Money Answers Everything episode, which, if you haven't listened to that, make sure you. You listen to that, because we did lay the foundation before starting these. That, you know, when God created us, Adam and Eve, they didn't even. They didn't own the garden. Right. But they had. They had rulership of the garden. And this is what we've been given. That's the kingdom authority. Now, we lost that when they fell. Right. But with Jesus returning, we now have the ability to walk in that again.
Yeah.
But this is why the important part of mastering these four kingdom money principles, to really understand what that actually means. Yeah, right.
Yeah. A couple more scriptures here. Deuteronomy 10:14. Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth, and all that is in it. So that's what, five, six scriptures we already rattled off where God is saying, it's mine. Yeah, it's mine. Everything you see is mine. This earth you live in, your body that you. You live in is mine. Right. Then Psalm 50, verses 10, 11, 12. For every animal of the forest is mine. And the cattle on a thousand hills. I know. All the birds of the mountains and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
You sound like Finding Nemo. Mine, mine, mine.
I have seen it. Actually, we played it when the grandkids were over the other day. And now as he's got it on now, he calls me Marlin and he calls himself Nemo. Because Marlon is Nemo's dad.
Yep.
Yeah. And he calls Lucy Dory.
He hasn't seen Finding Dory yet.
I think he watched it once, but then he likes to go back. He's a creature of habit.
Right.
So if he's locked into something, he will. He's a little like myself.
Yes.
Yes. Which could tend to be somewhat more of an addictive personality.
Sure.
Which could be a curse for sure.
Sure.
But it can be a blessing. Yes. Because when you put your heart towards something that's good and you love it, you put your all into it.
Yep. That's why we need more solid Christian movies and entertainment for people like Ezzy.
Right.
Love to watch the same thing over and over again. Yeah.
Yeah. This is the first thing really he's ever seen. That's not Bible. Really? Four years old?
Yeah.
Wow. Yeah. I took him for a haircut yesterday, and he has, like, a hand me down shirt from my sister who. Whose son grew out of clothes. We got hand me downs. So it's just a black shirt with the Batman logo.
Right.
And he has no idea what it is. So we go in there, and the barbers there, they're all great. They talk to him, high five them and everything, and say, oh, Batman, is that your favorite superhero? And he's just looking like he doesn't even know the word superhero. Right. And the barber says, I like Spider Man. Spider Man's my favorite superhero. Who's yours? And he looks. He goes, david and Goliath.
I love it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's great.
I love it. Like, if I could keep him as sheltered as possible with that. Or not. I don't want to say necessarily shelter. I want to protect them in that regard. But, I mean, if I could just fill him. He knows. I mean, at 4 years old, he knows more scriptures and more Bible stories than many adults.
Sure.
And I love. And he loves it. Yeah, he loves Bible stories.
Absolutely.
He calls himself when he's hooked on Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He's Shadrach, Meshach, Lucy's Abednego. Every time we walk into the house, just the three of us, he's like, oh, no, we're going into the fiery furnace. And then we have to play the scene. And then he'll look for Mooch to play Jesus to be the fourth. Fourth in the fire. Yeah. I love it. That's awesome. A couple more scriptures. Yes.
Let's do it.
Okay. Haggai two, eight. The silver is mine, the gold is mine, declares the Lord almighty. So just in case you weren't sure if everything in the world included money. Yes. All the silver, all the gold is his.
Yes.
So everything that we work and strive so hard to possess is his.
Yes. Yes, it is his. Which gold, by the way, was mentioned in the book of Genesis 8 individual times.
Yes.
And God called it good.
He did.
He did call it good.
He did. So when we say that money is not good or bad, when you say it's immoral or amoral.
Yes.
So is that a fact, then? If not.
Actually, yeah.
Gold. Good.
I thought about that when we talked about that on a few weeks ago.
I think anything could be labeled as good. If what is good? If it has something that has value, that could. If I trade this, I could be served in some sort of way by handing them something of value. Yeah. Right. So, I mean, anything of value is good in some regard.
And I would even go even further to the extent that everything is good. God created everything, so it's good right now whether they choose to go down a path like Lucifer did. Right.
What about cockroaches? Are they good?
Good, man. I don't know what. Mosquitoes. I'm not sure what God made them for, but, yeah, there is creation.
Yeah.
Right. If you think about it, it's like, dang.
All right, we'll find out one day.
Yes. Yeah. Well, I mean, bats have to eat them, right? I thought this whole thing through. We don't.
Well, why create the bats then?
To.
Because. Or else we wouldn't have Batman.
Right?
Yeah. Yeah.
Right. God planned this whole thing, man.
Yeah. There we go. All right. Cool. First Corinthians 6:19. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own. Even you are not your own. Yeah.
Yes. This goes back to the health kind of comment that I had said earlier. It's like, listen, if your health is in the shambles, it's time to level up. Right? This is just as important as money. Right. It's just as important as, you know, how you're parenting.
Yeah.
You are. Literally. Holy Spirit dwells inside of you. This is. We need to take care of this thing. As long as we're walking this earth and you don't get to have the excuse of, well, the food supply stinks. It's true. That's for everybody. Yeah. Some choose to still eat healthier than others.
Right, Right. Well, think about this. If Jesus showed up at your door and you had a spare bedroom, you would probably tidy that thing up quite a bit before you allow Jesus to spend the night.
Right.
You'd want the best linens you have. You'd want to make sure everything is straight and in order and looking good, smelling good in there.
It doesn't have to be Jesus, bro. Ash sent me this, like, this guy who was, like, making fun of his wife, you know, on YouTube or something like that. And he's like, anytime we have company over, he's. It was like the. The title of it was like, let's portray a life that we completely do not live. He's like, everything has to be spotless. Just cleaning everything. And she's like, did you get the pressure washer? Yeah. It's just funny.
But think about if it's Jesus, we, we would never give him anything less than what's best.
Right.
And poor health that you're talking about is mostly self inflicted PO.
Yeah.
Just not taking care of yourself, which is crazy. The spirit of God lives inside of you. God lives inside of that vessel.
Yes.
And you don't want to do your darndest to take care of it.
Yep.
You know, I mean, I'm convicted. Every time I read this, I'm convicted of it.
And this is why we have what we call the five power pillars within the King's council. It's, you know, mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially. Like, these are, these are pillars in our life that we need to be walk in, excellence in. Right. We, every single one of us is called. Whether you're stewarding, you know, a five foot frame or seven foot frame.
Yeah.
Right. Whether you're stewarding a $10 bank account or a 10 million bank account. This is, this is about stewardship. And if you, the point of, of this principle is that if you truly understand and, and acknowledge like it is God that owns this, I am nothing but stewarding what he's already given me. And if we know that, that you know how we steward a little, how much more he'll put, he'll give us. Right. We don't do this with the understanding of like, I want to, I want to steward. Well, to get more like that's selfish ambition. Right. And the ambition that we need to have is like for our creator.
Yeah.
It's like why we do anything is like, man, it's the least I could do.
Yeah.
Absolute least that I could do is steward. Well, what he's been giving me. And this is, this is why even in past episodes I mentioned, I think poverty really is a spiritual issue because you can go in the hood and you can go into home where they don't have. They may be broke financially, but they're clean, they're tidy. And then you can go into a completely rich person's home. Right. They're beyond wealth and the place is a disaster. Yeah. Right. It's like you don't even want to sit down.
Right.
Been in there many of the spit a little bit. And in many homes like that where it's like, dang, dude, this is. And, and that's why I, I think it's a spiritual issue. It's not. You can be broke temporarily, but you're, you're spiritually. How are you, how are you stewarding whatever you've been given?
Yeah. Yeah. Well, think about this. If we Steward our bodies. Well, you just said if you're a good steward, God will give you more of what you're stewarding. If we steward our bodies, well, God will give them more of himself to dwell within us.
Yeah, come on. Yeah, come on, man.
I mean, that makes me want to go on a fast right now.
Right, right, right. Yes.
Yeah. No more queso, right?
Cancel the order. Ash. Doordash dialed up already. No, but. Yeah, man, absolutely. But that also means your sleep patterns, right? How you're taking care of just all aspects and area of your life. It's God that owns you. He owns your body, he owns your mind, he owns your soul. He literally owns every little thing about you. Right. And if you're feeling frazzled or overwhelmed, he knows that. He's. He absolutely knows that. And what he wants is your heart. Like, that's. That's what he wants. And eventually you'll get there, Right. If you're overweight, like, you'll get there. Right? We've.
We.
The thing is, the past bad decisions that we made and things like that, whether it's health, financially, relationally, you can't do anything about that. Right. It's like, you can go to get a diagnosis of something, but at that point, it's like, well, what are you going to do about it? You're going to dwell on that? Or you actually start to take steps to. To move forward in the right direction.
Yeah, absolutely. 1 Corinthians 7:23 says you were bought with a price. So, yeah, we were bought with a price. So God purchased us. Basically. He owns everything. But think of. Think of that concept that we were bought and we are essentially He. He's our owner. He's our master.
We're.
We're slaves to him. Right. And.
Or a slave to something.
Yeah. Yep. And just reminds me of the scripture. Whoever keeps his life will surely lose it. Whoever loses life will surely find it. Yeah, right. Everything in the gospel is so, like, contradictory.
It's the upside down kingdom, baby. Yes.
I love it. But if we choose to hold on to our own lives, even, surely we're going to lose it. If we just possess ourselves the way we want to possess ourselves and not surrender at all to the Lord, then we're not going to actually experience everlasting life.
Yes.
And Jesus died on the cross so that we could have that everlasting life. That's the price. I mean, the price we can't even reprehend heads around the price that Jesus paid for. For our salvation, for our freedom, for our everlasting life we can't wrap our heads around.
Right? Yeah. It's so true.
And that just made me think of 1 Corinthians 7, verse 4, where it says, the wife does not have authority over her own body. Right. Clearly. Because God has authority over all of us. But then it says, but the husband does. I love this.
I love this.
And I remind Lucy of this time and time again. That woman, take off your clothes. You're not yours, you're mine. I have authority over that body right there.
How does she respond with that?
Oh, she gets naked right away. Yeah. She strips immediately. She's a woman of God, right?
Yes. Yeah.
I said, listen, it's not me telling you this. This is God telling the Lord. And if you want to be obedient to the Lord and receive his blessings, listen, you're going to receive blessings from above, and you're going to receive blessings from this guy right here, right? Yes.
Yes. Can I get an amen?
Yes. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. But it does go on and say, and likewise, the husband have authority over his own body, but the wife does. So, yes. When I mentioned this verse, I don't tell her that part. Right. Although, I mean, if she wants to have her way with my body, I'm okay with it.
Yes. Yeah. Anytime.
Yeah. I'm far more submissive in that regard.
Isn't that funny?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. God made us.
Yes.
Yeah. So when you think about this, if you're married, you don't even own yourself, like, second behind God. It's. God owns you, and then your spouse owns you or has authority over you.
Yeah.
Over your body.
Yes. Yeah. I mean, that could go to an extreme, too. I mean, there may be some people even listening who have some unhealthy relationships in that regard, you know? But I think the very next scripture says you shouldn't deprive each other. Right. And I think this is a huge thing in marriage. Right. It's like, well, you aren't gonna get any tonight. Right.
Or.
You know what I mean? It's like, hold on. Let's. Let's go. That could end very poorly in a. In a. In a relationship.
Yeah.
Now that. This is an episode really about that. But. Yeah, but it's a. It's a very serious thing, I think, for relationships, mentally, emotionally, and physically and spiritually.
Yeah.
Right. And so. Yeah. But at the. At the end of the day, again, this is an episode on ownership, but it is like, since we're even on the topic, sex is a great thing because God created It.
Yeah.
Right. It's a good thing. Absolutely.
It's good to get away with your spouse. And whenever we're counseling couples, we always tell them, like our secret sauce is to get away and get naked with one another.
Yeah.
Get naked physically. Get like walk around the hotel room naked. Just completely be vulnerable. But then get naked spiritually. Just completely. Just let it, let it out. Just experience intimacy in every which way you can be intimate with one another. When David tells God, you know, God, search my heart. Right. That's the word yada in the Hebrew. And it's the same word like. Like, search my heart and know me. That's yada, know me, search my heart and know me.
Yeah.
So it's. It's a willingness to be known by somebody. There's a vulnerability there. As the same word in the Hebrew. When Adam, yad, Eve and she bore. Yeah, Cain.
Yep.
Right.
That's good. That's deep.
Yeah. Like that. Yep, like that. So anyhow, ownership.
Yes.
Yeah. First Timothy six, seven. We have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. Yeah. So even that, we're stewarding that no matter what you have right now, whether it's a lot or a little, you ain't taking it with you when you die. Yep. Right. All this is gonna poof. Yeah. It's gonna go away. Everything of this world. And that's why, you know the. The scripture. What, what does it profit Whole world and lose the soul. Yeah. Because all that stuff ain't gonna last. We need to focus on the things that have the potential to last forever, and that is our actual salvation. That's the spirit that's inside of us that will live forever. So all this stuff that we have, like we've talked about on previous. Previous episodes. Yes. We are to be content at all times, whether we. We're in a season where we have a lot season where we have a little. We are to be content. But. But God never wants us to remain where we are every single day, from glory to glory. He wants us to conform more and more to his image. And in conforming, we are changing every single day. We're either getting closer to Jesus every day or getting further from Jesus every single day. So the things that are around us as well. God never wants us to just stay stagnant in any circumstance. I mean, he can have a season where we're in the wilderness because we need to spend time alone with him and fast. It may be a season like that, but ultimately the. The reason for that will be Progression.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely. That's like a pruning season. Yeah, right. And you know, if you're looking to hear from the Lord, the best possible thing is to get into the word of God. Yes, right.
Yes. Wednesday mornings.
Wednesday mornings, Kingscost Bible study dot com. Yeah. And then also those seasons, since you mentioned fasting, it's like that is an incredible time to continue to get into the Word of God and, and truly hear.
Yeah, right.
And spending that, that alone time that the, the time of silence. Right. While it might feel like it is a, you know, a season of, of you said wilderness or, you know, where it's like, man, I just feel like I'm struggling or I'm. I'm going backwards or plateauing. It's like, no, man, he's preparing you for launch. Yeah, right. And I think it's important that we all continue to go through those seasons because it's a. It's. It's a reminder of who does own everything. It's a reminder of bringing us back to our first love, which should be him and him alone.
Yep. Amen. I want to mention this parable that's in Matthew 20. It's the parable of the workers in the vineyard. And I love this parable because it definitely really hones in on the idea that. That God is in control. He could do what he wants. He owns everything.
And you might not like it.
Yeah. You may not like it, but know that God does want what's best for us. He. He does wants. Want what's good for us.
And he knows what's best for us.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
100.
Way better than we do.
Yep. Yeah, 100. So the, the story, there's a landowner, he's got a vineyard, and in the morning he. He pays a couple guys to take care of his. His vineyard for the day. And he gives them a denarius, a day's wage. He says, I'm gonna pay you for the day. And they're like, okay, let's do it. Well, then it says at 9 o' clock in the morning. So they had already been working since the beginning of the day, probably around 6:00am, 9:00 clock. He goes to the marketplace, sees a couple people standing idol, and he says, hey, will you come work my vineyard for the day? And he says, I'll give you whatever. Whatever is right, I'm gonna give you. Okay. So they get to work now. Now he goes back out a couple hours later, more people standing there idle. He says, hey, you want to come work at my Vineyard, I'll give you whatever is right for the day. He does that multiple times throughout the day. Well, at the end of the day, the guys who've been toiling since the beginning of the day, they're like, okay, surely we're gonna get more than these jokers.
Right.
And the. The owner, he gets his steward to. To pay these guys. And he starts with the guys who are there the least amount of time, and he pays them the same amount, a day's weight. Right. And as you can imagine, which. I put myself in the shoes of that guy. Those guys have been out there all day. And I'm like, wait a second. You were here the last three hours of the day and you're getting the same thing as me?
Yep.
I mean, even when I worked a hospital maintenance job, it was the same thing. It's like, oh, I'm not doing that. I already did this year. This guy hasn't done anything yet. Like, why? Why? Especially my BC days. It was like, I'm not doing that. That. Like, we're getting paid the same thing. Why am I doing all the work here?
Right, right.
That's not fair. Right. It's not fair. And ultimately, they complained against the landowner. They said, these last men have worked only one hour. You made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day. But he answered one of them and said, friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius, take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to. I wish to give to this last man the same as you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Is it not lawful to do what I wish with my own things? And think about Jesus. He could do what he wants with his own things, and everything is his.
Yes.
So we. We should expect blessings from the Lord. How he blesses us. We don't know. I mean, if we put in a full day of work, like, if we. If we put our hands to the plat now and we are doing kingdom work, we absolutely can expect to be blessed by the Lord. How he does it is out of our control.
Yep.
And you say it all the time. Right. Our parts, obedience. Yep.
Right.
Yep.
The outcomes, up to God.
Yep. Yep. Exactly.
Absolutely. There's. I think there's a lot to unpack from this because I think, you know, a lot of people will think through this. And it's like, think of the person who served, you know, gave their life to Christ at an early age. And didn't go. Go to the college parties and didn't do those things. And I view this as like, they could be the person that literally on their deathbed, they cry out to God, repent, and they get eternal life with Him. Right.
Doesn't seem fair.
Doesn't seem fair. But first off, God gets to choose and decide. And first I think we should be celebrating those things even more so. And I think most people are, of course. But this is just our earthly, our fleshly nature of, like, it's not fair. Right. It's just not. And at the end of the day, I guarantee you that person would 100% have traded positions with the person that served Christ their entire life. Because the heartache and the turmoil and the frustration, the angst, anxiety. Oh, my gosh. Right. I never want to ever go back to that life that I had used to live because of that. But most people are always. They're looking through their perspective, a lens of their own, and it's always looking at. At what they think they missed out on, or they're looking at the lack versus looking at the abundance of. Of what God has and. And wants to give to all of us.
Yeah.
Right.
And if you ever want to complain, if you ever want to say it's not fair, think about this. When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, if anybody had a right to say, this ain't fair, yeah, it was him.
Yeah.
And he was saying, father, let this cup pass for me. Nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done. Yes, he had. I mean, Jesus had every right to complain and say, wait, I have to go through all this for these guys who. I mean, these guys, they're not just mean, they're not just bullies. I mean, these guys are, Are. Are trying to physically hurt me. They're mocking me. They're trying to, like, really hurt my feelings. And it sounds like, like, like hurt my feelings. Oh, big deal. But think about being in the shoes of Jesus at that time. Nevertheless, Father God, whatever your will is, I'm willing to do it. So next time you complain, next time you say that's not fair, think about Jesus dying for you, because that was not fair. He was the only person to walk this earth sinless, the only person that has ever existed on this earth that was not deserving of the punishment that he endured. The only one. But he took it on for us.
Yeah.
That's the beauty of the gospel. That's amazing grace right there.
Yes. Yes, it is. So good.
The.
That parable. There's a lot of ways that you can look at it. And I think especially now in this today's generation of kids just again being not fair and they want to do what's right in their own eyes. Right. But just understanding it's the importance of this principle. Why we started out with this principle is because yes, the other ones again are equally as important because if you want to again walk in that full kingdom authority, this is the foundation that everything relies upon. It's God owns everything. He owns the car in your garage, he owns the cell phone that you have. He owns literally everything. And it's just a perspective that we have to really truly understand. And he's not a God that, that wants anything bad for us. Is he going to allow us to make stupid decisions? Because we have to learn how to steward what we have. Well, but he always has. There's always a way out of situations. Right. You could be eyeballs in debt right now. And there is always a way out if you are understand this principle where it's like, okay, God, you own everything. I know I made a lot of stupid decisions getting myself in this situation. But. But truly acknowledge that. Truly repent and learn from those mistakes. Right? Learn.
Okay.
I can't just go spend foolishly or I can't. I need to seek the Lord with my future business relationships or you know, whatever the situation is.
Yeah.
But it comes back to just okay, what is the.
Where's your heart?
Who truly owns your heart? And. And then walking that thing out from.
Yeah, Amen. Amen. I. We have more but I think we should make this a 2 harder.
Yeah, let's button this one up because I want to. The next, next week's episode is going to be good.
Yeah.
All good, right?
I. I think so if you ask us.
But yeah, but I think this will be good. So understanding again, God owns everything and we are simply His. His managers. Right. And we'll dive into more of this. We'll dive into some specific examples of this in the Bible. Right. Because we read just scriptures. But you know, I think it's important that it's easy just to read like one off scriptures of God making these declarations and claims. But let's go deep next week's episode and talk about some real life examples that actually took place throughout the Bible.
Let's do it.
Sounds good.
All right, see you next week.
See you guys.
Peace.
