Short excerpt from a YouTube monologue by Rylee Meek in which she claims Turning Point influenced a generation of conservatives and asserts that one cannot be both a Democrat and a follower of Jesus Christ. The speaker situates Turning Point’s campus work as instrumental to modern conservatism and expresses a firm belief linking political affiliation and Christian faith.
Charlie didn't fear death. He said that, heck, the main thing he wanted to be known for wasn't about that. Like, I mean, in my opinion, he single, not single handedly, but he led a movement, he led a revolution that I believe is the reason why Donald Trump is in office today. You know, had turning point, not done what they did across the nation, across college campuses to raise up a generation that, that whether they know it or not, they are fighting for, for truth. Right. You can be a, this is, I don't even think this is my opinion. I think this is truth. You can be a conservative and not be a Christian. Right. I, I wholeheartedly know that. Right. But I do not believe that you can be a Democrat and be a follower of Jesus Christ. I, I don't think that's possible.
