Good.
Good morning. Good morning. What's happening, everybody?
Good morning. How you doing?
Great.
I mean, must be on east coast time right now because my beautiful wife Lucy, I see her name on here. So sorry for the camera. Done. But she's. I am in the great state of New Jersey. I have been since Saturday. I look like I'm about 10 pounds heavier than I was last week. It's lighting, it's camera. I haven't done eating since here on Saturday. Lots of Italian food. Good Italian food. I can get it back in Jersey. So I'm. I'm, you know, like squirrel. You know, acorns. That's what I'm doing. Bears do that, right? Get back for the h. No, no, one of the.
Baby.
Oh, yeah, yeah. Goody it is. And you call. Okay, that I know Goody. I am here. My father turn on Sunday. Praise the Lord had him out. Spent days with my sister. It's great. There's been good conversations with dad. You have the age in life shared on the bear hall last night. And he joined the blue academy in the 60s. He told him the average life expectancy pop in my poverty area was 57 years old. And in his 20s was like oh, that's right. And 12 of his classmates from his academy are still alive. He's just live. He's doing well. He's doing well. You know, he got some nicks and stuff, but he's doing well. Praise the Lord for that. This week we follow but he hasn't heard or seen K is back. Been back for a few weeks now. Friday mornings 10am Central we stream live on Rumble channel channel. We also stream on YouTube and then podcast. Friday night of Halloween it's the time to talk about that. We see a comment that really love to celebrate Halloween and there's plenty of folks in Texas as well that have their their the ghoul and bin up for sure. But that I bu Christians shouldn't ele Halloween and kind of just a few actually since Lucy's not want to make mention this when I was watching I become really close friends and I will say was kind of courting me frankly I her to this haunted house that was near where I live. Totally. She dated right. I knew she was a Christian. We didn't know her Halloween as we met but and you're listening that's the night you kid me for the first time remember haunted house. So yeah we met for evil, got for good and eyes and gave me a deep passion kiss and that's my s. Stick to it. She's probably going to sweep that.
Right.
So that's very. Anyhow, the passage on that end today it's. It's not just related to Halloween time, but it's every single day as believers. Right. Our focus, our mindset should always be that of heaven. A heavenly mindset. Heavenly respective Seek youk kingdom. And oftentimes where especially now when Halloween come up, we see evil, we see darkness, a celebration of fear, that sort of thing. But important for us to see. To be able to see what's not in the realm. Okay, so I'm gonna read this quick passage then we're gonna bounce around a little bit. Open it up while you hear your thoughts. Even if you're a Christian who celebrates Halloween, we'd love to hear your thought or perspective podcast on Friday. We talked about the responses. Appreciate it how you can react it how you redeem Halloween or you can receive it right. And I don't think, I don't think any just receive it for what it is and evil you by reading it where you use opportunity or together and stay up here in Jersey. Stay with my sister for a couple days as guys know my prayer by a long time Salvation of family members and sister's house. Um, sister is a great woman. She's a great dude, Steve. But um, no, I met you today. Yeah, that 12, 12 and 8 I think yeah that's favorite holiday is Halloween to the spirit realm and kind of the seas there being some of the kids even celebrating like Halloween and funny they said that the first night we're there, the next morning I get up get mugged and mug bird. Oh my God. So it was a beautiful thing one night Bible and he actually had his cousins in his Bible study that he studied the scriptures and I pray ultimately does But I think what will be a bigger witness for my nieces and nephew which we talk about sometimes here is just the zeal that we have for Jesus. Right. Receptive of, you know, going through scripture or you know, even being invited to church when we have this zeal for the Lord that's infectious. And everybody say what is that? That's one of the things that led me to believe that God was real life because I had my doubt. I blame God for everything. He was real but Jesus. So everybody this passage here in Second Kings chapter six we'll dive into a bit and then we'll open us up just about what it means to see the unseen realm. So second Kings chapter six starting at verse eight. I'm going to read about ten verses here and I'll Break that in contact for you said that the king of Syria was making war against Israel. Israel holds at war. Fast forward 2600 years later after this, 2700 years after this and Israel's still at war all the times. And the king's very consulted with serpent saying my camp will be in such a subtle place. And may have had been Aisha sent to the king of Israel, saying Beware that you do not pass this place for the Syrian or down there. And the king of Israel sent.
And.
He was washed there not therefore the heart of the king, sir, was greatly troubled by the saying and called the ser and said to him will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel? So what's going on here? Is king of Syria Ben Hadad, right? He's literally Israel and the king of Israel, who at the time is Jehoram or sometimes depending just translation. This is the son of Ahad and Bezel. Ahad and Bezel were and all the issues a had with them. Now this is his son. And he brought somewhat of a reform to the evil king of Israel and was going on his first time. So the king of Israel thought that there was a mole in his hand. It turned out it was Elisha hearing from the Lord and verse 12 says and 1 of his servants said so they knew it was Elijah. But Elisha the prophets of Israel tells king of Drew the words that you speak here now in tune his will she said, going to word is that I may send him so king sir, he wants to go get Elisha. I will hold him saying, surely he's a d Therefore he said horses and chariots and great army there. And they came and surrounded the sea. And when the servant of the man of God Elijah arose early one out there was an army surrounding the city of horses and chariots. And the servant said to him, Alas, my master, what shall we do? So the siren gets up early. He said ok, we're surrounded by these horses and chariots. It's just us the goddess. This is what he sees in the natural eyes uses here in army surround him. So Elisha answered, do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. Lord, I pray open his eyes that he may see the Lord open gu the young man and and behold all forces and chariots of fire all around Elisha. Our marble is that what piece you go off this earth with if you Elijah where when you see the enemy acting, the enemy besieging you or or the enemy crowding ready to attack, you can have his eyes that l. So with they biscuit outnumbered, if you can open their eyes to spirit realm and see what's going on in the spirit, you'll see they have horses and chariots. So they have horses and chariots of fire. They may have thousands of truths surrounding us, but we have tens of thousands of angels of the spirit that actually came to remind us that are protecting us right now. When they come to Samaria, open the eyes of these men that they may see and word open their eyes. They saw. And there they were inside Samaria. Now the king of Israel saw them, said, my father shall kill them. Shall I kill them? But you shall not kill them. You kill those who you think set food order before them that they may eat and drink and go there after. So that short passage, the remarkable thing, the big way is, oh my gosh, God, open my eyes to see what's really going on. Because spiritual realm is not my. It's not fictional. It's a real thing. And we are spirit beings. We're clothed in these tens of flesh. We're spirit beings. And oftentimes we see with our karma or Natalie and we miss what's going on in the spirit. But if we first of all matter what the money attack, what warfare you think you are actually facing, remember that it was clear to the angels to fell from heaven, right? Oh, you got the devil himself and all those demons, all these minions, but they don't represent one. There are the angels. That means good guys, bad guys, the good angels, the bad demons. So whenever you feel spiritual attack, if it was just a chess game between angels and demons, we outrun them to. Well, we were not angels ourselves, but our angels out. But one is Jesus Christ himself, right? So. So our God Jesus is a. Is a counterpart to Satan, right? Counterpart to Satan. The chief demon will be Michael Dar Angle, right? So not only are the demons out here in this realm, but we have Jesus Christ himself and the spirit of Jesus, the holy spirit that lives within us. And with the last. He's talking about the power of the holy spirit and what we're capable of doing because of that power. So this passage, this thing of like prime, you know, driving around in Halloween generations, it's kind of made me more keen to what's going on in the spirit, right? And we know that Halloween is a celebration of darkness, is a celebration of evil, is a celebration of fear, which is destined in Odin, is that that fear is the spirit, right? So when we. When we dabble in things that make us Scared. And you know it's valid. It was fun to go to haunted house or even as an adult haunted house and be scared. A thriller of a movie and be scared. But when we're looking fairly seeing fear fear is the spirit itself then we come to agreement with that spirit. And what are we opening the door to in our lives? Let our eyes, our ears, the portals where the enemy is going to try to infiltrate. And when we in the day of Colleen. It's just crazy how those who are they actually on the podcast on Friday we play a clip of forget his name Ryan Clay that accused he's a leader that you're saying and he got saved. But he talked about how these thank Christians for allowing their kids to participate in this evil day and how we ninja. Hey you guys up looking me as spider Man. Send us to get some candy. There's more to it. There's more to it. So I want to read the notes in the chat and point pages of moods where every verse that talks about unseen realm, every verse that talks about the angelic realm and angels are in there. But I want to wrote this a bit because a verse that certainly comes into play here when we talk About Halloween is First Corinthians 32 and it's very different in like three. Every translation, you know, all things are lawful, not all things are miserable or all things are. Pardon me, all things are lawful. So all things are personal. Is it personal for us to celebrate Halloween party in the indie? For sure. Is that beneficial? Probably not so much, but I see circ. I feel like you don't have to if you don't want to. But I see circ, I feel.
And so first thing, first things like watching or absorbing secular media or Halloween, all these things for. So you do it. So it's a matter of wisdom. Right? So if you can't watch horror movie without Christian making you thinking like things, don't do it. Absolutely, Absolutely. I would disagree about the nature of Halloween. Now some people do think it's the worship of evil, but really it's a mockery view because we're mocking the things. And so anyways it's. I see Halloween, I see Halloween as no different than a. A global custom like festival. It's just the American festival that people celebrate. If you are worshiping devil on Halloween, there's something wrong with you and it's not Halloween doing it.
Would you say that it is possible then it is beneficial to some degree to help you conquer fear?
It's not an official or something like that.
But.
Yeah and I appreciate the fact that you're that you did unmute and share this and I don't wait my perspective at all.
You know I don't see people do probably very small number.
Okay Leslie I think one for a year I really appreciate the and also how can we celebrate this season with you know bird flying cell and that's season of fall then yes the whole Halloween bones and stuff I think there's a limitation that got converted complaint about yes movie bloody stuff that's like and by glorifying that that's not hard and then kids are all excited for Halloween and you know you know saying about having art for Jesus like you know making sure they were doing it with joy and with fun and community so like my they do a trip called that's an opportunity to invite people to you know Trump's stories and celebrate like kind of turning into communities we could have hijacked but you know hey let's celebrate blood desperate death and you know show you how Jesus is in our hearts and how we pray into people utilizing communion you know in the season and celebrating I think Jesus fall into.
Yeah in 601 AD first you know and no matter what hey in Ali or the way we celebrate today there's always going to be some sort of discrepancy as to how it started right I mean Christmas Jesus but pagan traditions that came along with it there's always a few passes out the origins of Christmas or celebrating birth of Jesus Easter you know obviously it's a far stretch and that sort of thing but Halloween was one that the tol they tried to redeem and try to repurpose the traditions and ultimately redeem it but it was more church conforming to the paganism if you will rather than church and redeeming it and world conforming to the church now have nothing to do with fruitless so then they outlet do something else I'm not sure why the outlet has to be.
On this topic everyone of course this however however teenage mom it was one of those areas God always always break my heart and giving God the heavy lizard how to navigate this season in this holy and showing any participation participation whether it's the church whether at the house Jesus any participation and we another way to choose another way just to make my child feel like there's another way to celebrate how about standing teaching my childhood history and teaching my stance against things in me will most definitely use infil no it's not just on Halloween but I'm talking Halloween I always Always want to speak. No, there should be no going to get accelerated fear. Listen, I don't need this this topic is very sincere because it's just I'm aware fake stance black and oral don't celebrate especially no matter how they think about how you slice the right they still celebrate evil churches I disagree with any holly day holy day nothing because what single message are you doing that there's another way to celebrate shape or form should you celebrate? Why if you want children have give them history right you know lot you should right or put put Jesus you get as well anything and not making it look just light of the situation because I just want not so bad if you really sit right you see God truly through scess I can see how you.
This.
In any shape or form.
Imagery celebration points to one of two kingdoms the kingdom darkness here in death. The kingdom of which is truth love life. Excuse me. So when you look at it so obviously you see it as a very black and white issue. It's like there's no neural there is no rumor consent to anything that's evil. So for us it's 100% black and white. And I first got Lucy about this and I wouldn't lose more. I don't deserve myself I was 100% on board with it because there's no common ground in King of earlier celebrating the kingdom of darkness the kingdom of light.
And that's like my first like regular job and I was working on houses I had to pay for everything and ironically not my parents helped me you know find this job. And so I started working with this season and for me I go this is because it goes cooler in the day and and I enjoyed that season of life that was.
So I want.
To say is that as I kind of turn the look back at that season I was in Walmart sitting here working with all these people who are you know, 30s, 40s. They're choosing to like or they're using to like the weirdest people didn't have like other jobs or family. So like they weren't like trading society for like 13 year old and putting them to influences. And I was very sure of myself that I didn't very capable to go. But what I will say is that I ended up bringing a lot of friends to work there and at the same time bringing all my church. So it's like years later, you know Laura and Matt we were married we got to see a di on this topic. There's a time where like well it's time where your neighbors literally all my neighbors literally like in some small way of you know. But you know, as we get a little older we kiss. You know. More recently I realized vulnerable grailing. You know if a grown man fought out in that year, you know, let's give them the most vulnerable and start the conversation then it's like hard to say about. I mean there's the kind of game that I'm really bad at Hate children. The enemy wants to corrupt them and seeds and alleged children. And I don't think that adds any coincidence that makes sense because the concepts that the requirement for parts of how we let them go and kind of bleed away and knock on the doors. So kind of a reordering of the kind of way looking at the whole thing especially this year starting to become a lot more aware of. I understand that it was something but also understand that there's a process and that as well. Ultimately I've got the beast.
But.
Doesn'T mean. No I mean that's it. But it doesn't mean that we should just go ahead and live with regard to any attention of the enemy. We still can do that with any of that and sit down as a father household. I don't feel. I don't know it was an adult participation thing. I'd be using that in as a way to start constitutional people even just putting a fact. But it's not something I think I'm willing to expose my kids to that way. She's kind of always been on the thing. I appreciate your contributions but really at the end of the day is that you can be. I'm sorry.
The biggest best table is a bad decision, right? Because you want to be. That was just Jesus out of it. But by the way you know, especially black churches, you know you need the people to show up and do things. God would feed them, right? So with. With that track. But he says like. Like no like that. Not even kitty. So at this point I'm hearing you because you could reiterate or put a different way when we look at the story in Second Kings, right Elisha's servant, he was fearful, right? And the fear restricted him from seeing the lush saw now but is it's spiritual sight, right? So if Halloween if one of its foundations itself are in a fear then we want to be hero and we want to entertain the devil foothold by exposing ourselves to. To things that will natural spirit. So what fear does is it tricks us. Fear puts us blenders over eyes and then we can't see things in the spiritual realm. And if we were to have those sunglasses glasses that you put on where we just see spirit realm rather than the natural realm on the day of Halloween. Right. As we walk down our street into our neighborhood, I think that we debate, we're just overwhelmed with how much evil we actually see in spiritual realm. Even folk who are like Sarah Ra who are not that worth by any means but they like the thrill of Halloween and a dangerous thing. And I'm not finding anything if Roy send them to hell his father way or for what he does. It's just for us as a church who we are like. And so where does the darkness not participate in infant of darkness?
Couple points.
Number one, on Easter I, I, I feel that Roman Williams had the best question, which is how did we go from crucifixion resurrection to chocolate bunnies coated eggs. And then in high school I put together with a buddy of mine. But when you went through it, it was the different stops in the haunted house. It was the story of Jesus and it ended in a Bible study. So I don't know if that was like the right way to advertise it. But they got people there.
Yeah, yeah. How do we broadly plan? I mean churches, they have hours of meetings every week to figure out how to draw people into the building. Right, but and how you want to endure, what do you advocate for? Own house. And then it's like this. But wherever does it proceed from? Faith. Right. So if you conscious can't, you know, advocate and abide that conviction and if you do, if you do feel, you know, versus if you feel Holy Spirit, you still proceed to do it, then that's it. 100. So if your personal conviction, the Holy Spirit, does it stop you from doing or something like that? The case that I'll make is going to be anything that has been evil, but it is at the end of the day. Lauren.
I don't remember ever a time where somebody came from.
Oh yeah.
My first time here was hardest and I never happened. I do, I do feel like it's cool to have sick face for kids.
But at the same time.
Why are we allowing it? It's interesting because I feel like I go through growing up, but then there were years where she's like, okay, in the you want to be part of it?
I'm like, no, actually I don't.
And I went for years being convicted, I'm not being part of it. And then married. Oh yeah. And I used to keep Z with my dad and I'm like at home, this is terrible. But then I'll Go again. I'm like a couple years ago I have friends over on the middle of Halloween and dress up and like what am I doing? Or I'm reading books that are like not borderline. Is this. Is it demonic?
I don't know.
And talking about the angelic heavenly realm. It really was convicting that you're either allowing the jack of the realm or demonic home. It really is because.
Hello.
But I think it's important that we're raising up our kids. That's not. It's not. I mean hell, my. The time that we've lived in for three or five years between our town.
Above us.
As seen as here. What they're doing is powerful. We're just gonna take our kids out of it. We think, oh maybe. Maybe we'll just. We'll be the light in the arch. Okay, well, I know.
Yeah.
This is what I feel like because of the things that we do know that are happening around that time while as leaders. You said children. Let's see what it sounds like, what it looks like exposure as creat.
Hey. Yeah. This is a really good conversation along different places somewhere about between you right. This like the whole idea of like the supernatural. What does that mean? We all say supernatural. We all use it and we all think know what we're saying. But we all like. It's not a word. What does that even mean? I'm 100% in. I want to go like find the substance to what spiritual means. I think it's very real substance to the spiritual interest Creator who says the spirit where my God is the spirit remnant the creative not have more substance than created than the creator. And there's they they they. And most of us the demon come from. What's the mythology of it? What's that mythology behind truths of Greek mythology where those origin go back to. And it's very fascinating to kind of be able to see these threads that just go from. I mean far back is. You know, written words are. There's these, you know. And now you know, running around on Halloween with some of these, you know d that were giants at one point. And now I'm building this. You're just like, okay, there's. There's more substance, more nuance to spiritual realm. And so I'm just like trying to like. Not that I comedian but like oh God. And so I kind of like man, I get that. You know, I'm like where was the lander? And no, I'm a. Yeah, well, it's.
Personal but it's not profitable for you right how do you want to really do you want to always be containing right because you're dialing the things that aren't profitable or they're not beneficial do you want to be one of those that displays always that alter for Americas is always a warrior this there's an attack there I believe that if you right if we are participating in things that are participate but what it doing Is it helping in these sort of way? Yeah I just don't want to because ultimately for participating in things and again not just Maui we're participating in things that aren't edifying Southern.
Tradition.
They lock.
Themselves up away from society away from sinners to avoid sin and that's not what we're called to do we are to battle sin we have to live among sinners and to actually minister correctly to a sinner you have to understand the sinner that is locked on that's very important to watch people fear sin in secular media I want to watch a movie because they're criminal guess what people learn about criminality of that and.
So comment.
I had a drug addiction alcohol addiction in the past I don't need to there's some people that can minister to drug acts participate in drug use you can educate something not participating or do minister to people we can Mr. People without being engulfed or encompassed or consumed by the things that society does I can watch football here and have a conversation with somebody but I can agree on Saturdays my football college football on Sunday with guy at church on Monday night out what's going on in the football the football world to be able to mister him and Jim hey you know this is why we aren't watching football on the side anymore because this is what the Lord this is what we find is more holy is it permitly is it beneficial not such makers having that community that we have to be in world but not.
Of the world and but what does.
That look like there's fine line participating in being alien and also being educated about.
Because we I remember this one dude that is one of the leaders of the great street I I grew up in that world right Because I know it's like that doesn't matter what sin there in the same time period doesn't matter what it's like to be in place it doesn't matter sin but when slaves sin and you don't have Christ you're damned, you're lost you're hopeless right so and walking darkness as those who come to Christ and now I anyone doesn't matter and I have fl all have this death where we can't look to anybody, even if, you know, they grew up, because at the end of day.
