The Mindset That Unlocks Kingdom Authority

Conversation on the King's Council (YouTube) where Rylee Meek and a co‑speaker teach that adopting a ‘kingdom mindset’ (the mind of Christ) transforms believers’ identity and authority on earth. They ground the message in Scripture (Romans 12:2; Romans 8:5; Romans 8:15,17; Philippians 2:5; Psalm 91; Hebrews 1; Psalm 103) and give practical steps: meditate on biblical declarations of identity, retrain subconscious habits through consistent devotional practice, declare scriptural affirmations, and pursue discipleship/accountability.

All right, all right. Welcome back, everybody, to the King's Council.
I love it. Love, energy. Bring it. Let's go.
Bring it. Friday today. Happy Friday.
Yeah, you always say that.
I know. I don't know why I say that. But it's a good day. Every day's a good day, man. We got breath in our lungs. There's something. There's something that we can be thankful for.
Yes.
And God appreciates that. Right. Oftentimes we wake up with just like, I got to do this, I got to do that. And it's just like we go through the motions, and it's like, man, we have breath in our lungs.
Yeah.
Praise the Lord.
Amen. Keep a gratitude journal. Even if it's just a little list, a note on your phone. Just when you're grateful for something, write it down and look it over once in a while, because it will train your mind to see the good in things and appreciate even a little bit, as opposed to the mindset we perhaps could have that everything is a wreck, which a lot of unsaved people have.
Yeah, yeah. It comes back to the topic, what.
We'Re going to dive into, man, that's called a segue.
You are a segue. You. Do you have a segue?
No. Paul.
Paul Blart, Mall cop over here.
Yeah, yeah.
Just segueing away. Yeah, we're gonna dive into.
Before I. I saw some grumbling people yesterday getting onto my flight, okay. Where they opened the second lane for, like, groups five through eight or nine or whatever. So, you know, the first four groups. I'm in group five, you know, working my way up. Yep, yep. So there was two people checking the. The tickets, and the guy announced. He. He told everybody, go into the lane. That's five through nine. But there's two people that are actually scanning your tickets. So these two ladies that remind me of every, like, middle age white woman who does not know Jesus and, like, creates chaos in their life. They thrive off of, like, chaos. They. They hustle over there, and they. The guy said, are you grouped one through four? She said, no. He said, oh, you have to go. That. The other line. She said, you just said we could come over here. Right? And it was literally, I wanted. I. I had a few people in front of me, so I got to witness this for, like. Like 90 seconds of them just, like, complaining because he.
He.
He said they could come over there. And I was like, man, that. That mindset, which. When I was of the world, that was my mindset, where you just kind of liked them. Yeah. Victim mentality.
Or as I like to call them, Karen's.
Yeah, yeah, I was a Karen. What's the male name for that? I wasn't as bad as a Karen. But I think all people, when you don't have like Jesus as the, your anchor or your rock, your foundation.
Yeah.
You, you just find things to complain about.
You do. Absolutely. And it comes back to just your perspective.
Right.
You're going to look at things through a kingdom perspective or are you gonna, you know, medal and, and groan and grumble and wander around in that desert for 40 years?
Yeah, right.
Like a 12, 12 day journey.
Yeah.
Took them 40 years.
Yeah. It's a long time.
Yeah, man. So wild. That's just such a, a wild perspective when you look at it. It's just like God just did crazy miracles and we're obviously talking about the children of Israel. He did crazy miracles and then it didn't take like two, three days. And they're just grumbling.
Yeah, right.
It's like, wait a minute, he just like delivered you. Yeah, right. But they just focused on the problems. And I think it's a good back to the segue of. A good segue of what we're going to dive in today, which is really just what it means to have the mindset of a king. Right. Or a kingdom mindset. And I think this is just so important because I really believe that you can, you can be saved, you can have a ticket to heaven, but never actually take on this, this kingdom mindset. And this is where I think a lot of Christians are missing the boat or missing the, the full authority that they, they have and are able to walk in here on this earth, here and now. Because when, you know, when Jesus came, he, when he ascended to heaven and then, and then came back and presented himself, he's like, hey, the kingdom of heaven is here. He wasn't preaching the gospel. He wasn't preaching really anything other than the kingdom.
Yeah. Right.
And, and I think it's so fascinating just to think about even from in Genesis, you know, when we, when man sinned in Genesis, it's not that we lost a religion. We didn't lose anything really, other than the kingdom. Right. And that's, that's God's rule and reign, his authority in our lives. Right. We, we gave it over to the enemy because we couldn't, you know, we couldn't handle not eating from that one tree. Yeah, right. And so, and the reason, I think that's so fascinating in the fact that Jesus, when he returned it's like, that's what he preached. It's like he hit. His original intent was kingdom. And, and when Jesus ascended. Right. Or returned. I don't. I always say this wrong. You always correct me. Yeah.
You always say. It's like it nudges me every time. I know.
You always say when get kicked under the table.
When Jesus returns.
Yeah, he's going to.
Yeah.
When Jesus revealed himself, when he was.
Born and walked the earth.
Walked the earth, yes.
Yeah.
He preached the kingdom. Right. And. And like, that's, that's all he really talked about. And all these parables that he had even given us, that we, we have in the Gospels, it's like, what were they? What was every single one of them about it? They started with, hey, the kingdom of heaven is like this. The kingdom of heaven is like that.
Yeah.
And it's like this. In the keys to the kingdom that, that he wants to give us, I think come. Or those are revealed to us when we take on this kingdom mindset. Right. So we're going to break this down very basic for you guys. Kingdom is. Is. Is one word, right? But it's, it's comes from two words, King, meaning Jesus is king. Right. And this is maybe hard for us to understand here in America where we, we think of presidents and, and, you know, we didn't grow up with this understanding of what it means to be a king and have a ruler. But kings aren't like, voted in, right. They're just, they're like, they're born in. Right. It's like you are a king. And, and there's more I want to say on that, but I'm gonna stick to this. And then domain is the suffix of that word. The Dom. Kingdom of that is. Is domain. Right? It's so it's, it's like his rule and reign. And so if Jesus is king, it's his rule and reign in our life, right? And when we take this mindset on, I feel like, you know, we've talked about, I've mentioned goodness 12, 2.
Give me a hit.
Romans 12:2. Yeah. I was so excited about this day, man. But Romans 12:2 about, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Right? And it's like not transformed by the renewing of your habits or the renewing of your disciplines, but it starts in your mind.
Yeah.
Right. And if we start to, to transform our mind, it's going to transform our. The words we speak and just really the atmosphere that we're. We're you know, involved with. And. And so I think if we just really get this, this kingdom mindset, it's like, yes, you can be saved and not have a kingdom mindset. Right. That's part of this process that, that we can be discipled and we can grow in continually throughout this, again, sanctification process that we have here on this earth. So we're going to break this down a little bit for you guys.
Yeah, let's do it.
Yeah.
Well, first verse I want to mention is Romans 8, 5. It says, for those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh. Like those women at the airport the other day. Yes, but those who live according to the spirit, the things of the spirit. So if you live according to the flesh, if you're of the world, you're going to have a worldly mentality, a worldly mindset. But if you're of the spirit. Right. You're going to set your mind on the things of the Spirit. And yes, we have the Holy Spirit living within us as believers or followers, disciples of Christ. However, we still have these earthly tents that we call our flesh that we have to contend with at times. And we also have the devil who's working against us, who's trying to. I mentioned it last week. He's doing everything in his power to simply distract us, get our eyes off of Jesus, get our mind off of Jesus, because even the devil knows that the power of mindset. If you get our mind and our focus off of the king, then we're just going to get ensnared by the things of the world. So Philippians 2.5 says, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. So we're to have this mind of Christ, which it's knowing our royal identity and the way we think, we decide the way we live our lives. It's that of a king serving the king. Right. Because we were the king's council, we're called kings and priests. We're called the royal priesthood, and that's what we are. So if ladies want to say kings and queens, that's fine. Right. The idea is authority, the authority of the kingdom that we possess. And it's pretty gnarly to think about. Like, we're literally called by God himself, we're kings. And. But like you said, you could be a king but not have a king mindset.
Yep.
And it's pretty. It's pretty remarkable what the Bible has to say about that.
Yeah. And I think that all comes back to just identity and as you dive into the word of God and you're starting to meditate on it, it's understanding who we are in Christ, right? And it's like, as I mentioned before, it's like a king, you are born into kingship and when you receive Christ as Savior, you are now adopted into his sonship. Right? And I know you said this a while back, I know there's some funny post on social media about one of those clips about you saying, you know, we're not all God's children, right? I don't know if you saw some of those. But the reality is we're not, right? We are all God's creation, but we're not his, his children until we've, we've received him as Lord and Savior of our life. And at that point in time, it is a gift from Him. Nothing that, that we do can accomplish this, but it's a gift that we receive. We are adopted into his sonship and immediately we are now kings and priests. Right? And that's what scripture tells us. And so if you do struggle with that identity, there's lots of scriptures just to refer back to, to think on who does God say I am, not who the world says I am, or even what my self limiting beliefs say I am. Right? Because our mindset, I think we have to really understand there's always two kingdoms like at hand here, right? There's the kingdom of God and then there's the kingdom of. What do you want to call it?
The devil.
The devil. Right. I guess, I mean just the world, right. Anything that's not of God. It's like it is the, the kingdom of the world and it really is.
I don't want to interrupt you, but in First John, he basically breaks up all of humanity into two characters, categories. You're a child of the king or you're a child of the devil. So that's really what it is. The two domains that there are, there's a, it's the kingdom domain where Jesus is ruler or the, the world. Right. Where the enemy is the ruler. He, he's the, he's calling in scripture the, the God of this earth, right? Yep.
Yeah, that's good man. And, and dependent upon, you know, when you receive Christ as savior, you've developed a mindset, right? However you were raised, however you grew up, you know, I, I had developed a mindset for a number of years on and I didn't realize that until, you know, just in the last, you know, five, six, seven years of how that was hindering my Relationship with the Lord. Right. And, and it's, it's in Christ. We have, we have freedom, we have liberty. But this is where it takes us to be able to work this thing out, right? To work out our salvation with fear, fear the Lord and trembling. I want to be obedient to him. And how do I know what obedience even is? It's like I've got to read the word of God when he makes these declarations of who we are, we have to start to receive that, meditate on those things to literally recreate these neural pathways in our brain. Right. We are, our minds are continually changing. You can build, our brains are what's known as neuroplastic. And you can build these neural pathways of how you think or why you think the way you think. And oftentimes I think we go through life without ever auditing our thoughts.
Right.
And it's like, man, why do I think that way? And if we don't ever question or wrestle with these things, I would challenge all of you guys to listen or to, to you know, just spend some time with that of like what's a, a mindset that you've created? Whether it's limiting or maybe even self sabotaging and, and maybe self righteousness. Right. It could be either or of these types of mindsets that we've taken on. Right. I think even now in, in the, the younger generation, it's like they took on mindsets that it's like they had no rules or discipline. And it's like, I want what I want now. They all have blue hair and scream at the sky when they don't get something they want.
Right.
It's like, well, they didn't just, that didn't just randomly happen. That happened through improper training and education and really truly just discipleship. And so there's these. What a point I'm getting is there needs to be a retraining of your mind.
Yep.
Right. And to understand what is it that, who is it that God says I am, you know, who, whose I am? And then ultimately to meditate on those things to retrain your brain in the way that you think. Right. Always though, coming at that from, from a humility standpoint.
Right.
Because I am who I am only because of God, who God says I am. It's not this self righteous type of stance, but that starts to shift our mindsets when we do start to meditate on these type of scriptures that it's like, man, I am a royal priesthood. Yeah, right. It's like I, I have been created for this of all, in all time of creation, like God has set me apart, right, and, and, and put me on this Earth here in 2025, right. It's like, wow, how can I be used? Like what, what can be done? And, and even just meditating on those thoughts or just having those discussions, it like should like stir something up within you. It's like, man, that's, that's right. Right. Again, not from a self righteous standpoint, but it's because that he has an intention and a purpose for you here on this earth right now.
Yeah. Amen.
Amen.
I heard recently that high school athletes now have mindset coaches, which most athletes have mindset coaches like they did in the 70s when like NFL players were just all clunking heads with one another, things like that. But right now in the world of sports, everything has a specialty. There's a specialty coach for everything. And mindset is a big one. And you think about it, golfers, they're, they're big on having mindset coaches because they, they need to believe that they're going to make that putt to win the, the Masters, right? And when you have any self doubt, right, when you start to look at yourself, when you start to examine, oh man three, yesterday when we played, I double bogeyed this hole. But now if I birdie it, I, I win the championship, something like that, that's important. That's important. And think about that's just in a sport, right? You can make a lot of money playing sports, but it's just recreation. It's just a sport. It's not really meaningful in the big scale of things in this thing we call life. So the, the mindset of a king is so important because the enemy, he's the accuser, right? And he's the father of lies. He's always going to try to convince us that we are less than what we are. But it's important for us to declare who we are, to affirm who we are. And it's not just these things. I mean, I could come up with my own affirmations and shout them over myself, declare them over myself every single day. And they're, they're not as powerful as what scripture actually declares over me, what God himself declares over me as one of his children. Because if you don't have this mindset, you have this like adoption or, or I'm sorry, orphan mentality.
Yeah, that's good, right?
Rather than you, you mentioned we are children of God. So that, that means we have our identity. We know our Father we are co heirs with Christ to all the glory and riches in heaven. But a lot of us walk around as orphans where it's like we, we don't have direction, we don't know our identity, we don't know who our father is. And we talked about it a little bit last week. I think identity feel like some of these things that we cover, they, they do overlap, but it's because they're, they're so important. And scripture like beats these things upside our head. And I feel like God sometimes is like, do, do you get it? Just, just read it. Meditate on this and, and now do it.
Yes, that's a big part of it.
That's Ezra 7, 10, right there. That, that's. Yeah, that's why we name Ezra Ezra. It's essentially read, teach, do. So he read the scriptures, he obeyed them, so he did them, and then he taught them to others. So it's pretty simple. We just.
Yeah. Get the crap out of it.
Yeah. Redo it. And then, hey, once you get a knack for this thing, go teach it to somebody else.
Right?
Right.
It's Discipleship 101, right?
Yeah.
That's good. One thing I thought too of just like practically for us here, thinking, I mean, what I love about the Bible is that it's, it's timeless. And the fact that like, he's given us all of this and we've had it for, you know, a couple thousand years. And I love it when science like backs it up. It's like, yeah, it's like there is a creator of science and it's just so cool to actually see that play out. And what I'm getting at is like when all have a conscious mind, right. And then we have the subconscious, right. Or the, you know, the psychology nerds would have it like, be the id, the ego. Forget the other one. It's been. Been a few years from that, but it's like. Or the Sigmund Freid Freud nerds. And, and consciously, like 99% of everything that we do throughout the day is through our subconscious, right. It's like. And these are the habits and we get into these habitual ways of thinking that cause us to do certain things, right? It's like consciously, I can't consciously. I'm not saying, like, pick up this pen and having to consciously control every nerve and muscle and bone in my body, right. It's just subconsciously I know I need the pen, so I just. It just happens, right? And that's what happens in our lives when we when we live a life by, you know, what we would call default, right? And it's like I'm just, okay, I've, I've. And again, maybe you're a newer Christian. It's like I've. I've received Christ. He's my savior. Cool. Now what? Well, now we have to retrain your brain, which is ultimately. Or retrain your mind. I'll even want to say it, that because we're not retraining the organ itself, but it's like this, this way of thinking and that. That we are not victims, but we are victors, right? That. That we are. Are no longer slaves to, to sin, but we are slaves to righteousness. That I'm no longer an orphan, but I'm an actual heir. And if we start to understand these things, it will over time. And I want to preface, it is like over time, right? It's not like this happens overnight. The best way to change your way of thinking is meditating on these things. That, that again of who God says you are. And when you do that, you will slowly begin to change your way of thinking and take on the mindset of a king or a queen.
Yeah. Amen. That, you know, we touched on it. But the actual verse in Romans 8, 15, 17 says, for you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, then heirs and heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together. So last week when we're talking about Halloween, we talked about fear being a spirit. Now this is talking about the spirit of bondage, which results in fear. So fear could be the, the end result of another demonic spirit, quite frankly, in addition to a spirit itself. But, but we didn't get the spirit of bondage right. And think about being in bondage. You're, you're muzzled. You're. You're chained. You feel like you, you can't do anything right. You, you're, you're restricted. But no, we have a spirit of adoption that sets us free, like you said. And there's a slave mindset that operates in lack, like you mentioned, it's fear, it's striving. And then you have a kingdom mentality which operates in trust, inheritance and enthusiasm, authority. This, this verse in Proverbs 30, this little snippet in verses 21 through 23. I'll read it in the. The NLT, because it just sounds.
I like the new king James.
Perturbed. Perturbed. Yeah. Well, it's actually only one. One line in this. It says, well, yeah, in the new King James version says for three things, the earth is perturbed. But in the nlt, it says there are three things that makes the earth tremble. No, four it cannot endure. The first one is a slave who becomes king. Right. It's like a slave who becomes king. Why, why would that make the earth tremble? Well, think about it. If you're a slave and. Or you're a servant, think of it more in that regard. You're a servant and all of a sudden you just become king, but you don't take on a king's mindset. Wearing the crown doesn't change your heart, doesn't change your mind. Now you have all these, these responsibilities, you have this authority. But if you still have a slave mindset, a mindset of bondage, then how good are you going to be at a king? Yeah, right. How well are you going to rule? How are you going to enact that authority for the benefit of your kingdom if you still have that slave mentality? And, and ultimately that you're going to be unstable, you're going to misuse your authority for sure. And it's just. Think about that. The earth trembles when a servant or a slave becomes a king. Well, all of us, fast forward to the New Testament, we're all called kings as believers of Jesus Christ. So if we keep that slave mentality that we were slave to sin and now we're a king. Right. So now we're enslaved to righteousness, we're enslaved to Jesus. But if I keep that, that slave mentality, the earth trembles. It's like, oh, this isn't part of the plan. Right. We talked a little bit about being in alignment with heaven, being in alignment with the will of God, with what Heaven's will is an agreement with an agreement.
Right, right.
And so when we. And guess what, it's in a moment that we go from slave to sin to slave of righte. As soon as we receive salvation. That moment. Right, yeah. And no matter how radical, or maybe not radical that transition is, that moment when you have that encounter with the Lord and you fully submit and surrender and put your trust in him, but ultimately things change.
Yeah.
Drastically. Your whole identity changes. And now it's just working through the scriptures, it's developing this relationship with the Lord, this intimacy with Him. So we actually believe ourselves what God now says about Us, because it's not us who now lives. We. We've been crucified with Christ and it's Christ who lives in us. Our old self is gone. We're a new creation. Old things pass away, all things become new. And now we're at this point where it's like, okay, I gotta believe this because I know those first 30 years of my life, I was messing up. I jacked a lot of things up and all of a sudden I'm royalty in the eyes of God. So. Oh, okay, I better spend some time with them getting the word to figure out how I could walk this thing out now.
Yeah, yeah, that's good, man. I think that's like we have to come back to this understanding of what it means to. As you mentioned, it's like it's not a, it's not just a right that we have to be in this royal priesthood right to be even saved, but it's a privilege. Right? And if we, if we take that seriously, like this is the privilege that I've been given. Yes, you may have received Christ as savior, but the privilege that we have is something that we should take seriously. Right. And not be even. What I would even think of, like, man, an easy way to think of this for me is it's like there's a lot of illegal immigrants. It's getting cleaned up a little bit now here in America. Thank the Lord, I'm all for it. I think most of you are, but I think there's a lot of illegal immigrants even in this identity of Christianity. And what I mean by that is so many people identify as a Christian but are not operating within the kingdom. Right. And understanding, as you mentioned, just that alignment and the agreement, when we come into that, and this is what scripture says, we now have the ability to walk this thing out with a confidence, with a boldness, with an authority God given. Again, not in any sort of self righteous way at all, but in such a humble way that it's, it's a privilege that I get to actually do this, you know?
Yeah. It talks about identity. A couple days ago you were mentioning that. Just I think in your own thought time and pondering that a lot of times Christians, they take on this identity or they identify as a Christian.
Yeah.
But it's not really who they are. Like, yeah, like somebody who's using he, him pronouns, that's not really a boy.
Yeah. Nowadays it's like, you know, we're, we're trying to. Everybody can have their own identity. It's like, how do you identify, you know, at where ash works when a patient comes in, like, you know, the first thing on the chart is how do you want to be? What's your pronouns? I mean it's so moronic. And I think, I, I think there is just a lot of, of people out there that identify as a Christian, but I don't think they actually are. Yeah, right. And it's unfortunate, but this is, it.
Is what it is.
I mean that, that's just, you know, scripture tells us that this people are just going to continually be more and more deceived as we near the end here. But it's no different than like I, I'm a trans person, I identify as this or identify as that. I think it's infiltrated the church just as much thinking they're you know, like, you know, holier than thou and like I'm a Christian. But it's like, no you're not, dude. I know you're not because there's no fruit.
Yeah, right.
Scripture tells us that they're going to see, they're going to recognize us by our fruit. And you know, unfortunately there's not a lot of fruit in many self identified Christians lives.
Yeah, right.
And I don't say that. I mean I do say that judgingly. I do.
Yeah.
You know, a lot of people throw around this idea. It's like you're not supposed to judge. But I think it says don't judge less, be judged. I want to be judged that way too. Yeah, right. So judge me all you want by the fruit that I bear.
Yeah, right. You better never mess up, mess up one time.
I'm going to, I know I'm going to, but I'm going to be, you know, repentant of that if it's something completely stupid. You know, I'm not perfect, neither are any of us. Right. But I'm not gonna identify as something and you know, bear different type of fruit. Yeah, right.
That's why it's important to have people in your life that correct you. Yes. To just call you out on your bullcrap.
Absolutely right.
And I gotta think that most pastors or people in church leadership that fall or fail, they either don't have that person or they, they've started to become secretive from that person. Maybe it's not somebody they do life with like this. Like, I know you've given me full permission to call out bull crap in your life, if any is there. And I've said the same thing to you. And it's important to have, and I think this is oftentimes why a lot of people love the King's council and the community that we have. Because if we mess up, we should be able to go to somebody at our church, go to our pastor and confess and just, you know, trust that it stays right there. But oftentimes we feel like we are going to be judged and condemned for what we do. So we, we want to keep those, those sins or some of those mess ups secretive and hidden. Then all of a sudden when we, we. We walk in darkness and darkness begets darkness.
Yep.
Once you start down that path of darkness, then everything could go to hell in a hand basket real fast.
Yes, yes, absolutely. What else? I mean, we got lots of notes on this, bro. Yeah, well, but I do want to make it practical for people on how they could. They're just applying this in their own lives, you know?
Yeah. Think about this. When it comes to mindset, we all want peace, right? And I pray this over Ezzy every night. I pray. When we pray, I pray literally over every body part. And there's something that I pray, it's usually sometimes spirit will lead to pray a little differently, but it's usually just about the same every night. But one of the things I pray over his mind is that it, it remains stayed on God. It stayed on Jesus because the, the promise in Isaiah 26:3 is you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Think about that. That. That's perfect peace. That's not just peace in the Hebrew. It's actually shalom. Shalom. And translators didn't know like how to like properly transcribe that. So it's like perfect piece. As if God's piece isn't perfect enough.
Right.
So perfect piece, shalom. Give me one dose of shalom. I'm good. But two, a double dose of shalom. The shalom Shalom.
Sign me up, man.
Yeah, it's like, it's like you're floating on clouds all day long. Yeah, but. And all you have to do is keep our mind stayed on Jesus. That's it. That's it. It's pretty simple.
Simple. It's one of those things. It's like simple but not easy or easy not simple type of thing because we all have, you know, negative thoughts. Right. We all have cut me off in traffic type of thoughts.
Right.
That can take us down into just like this.
Yeah.
Grumpy feeling.
So if you curse somebody out, your mind's not stayed on Jesus in that moment?
I wouldn't think so.
Not that you curse people out.
Right. Because I don't do that.
Yeah. Anymore. Anymore.
So bless our enemies that cut me off. Right. I'm like, I'm blessing you with my finger. Just kidding. Just kidding.
They get angrier sometimes when you're nice to them.
Oh, I know. I love it. I usually give them thumbs up.
Thumbs up sometimes big smile sometimes. This isn't nice. It's more like condescending. It's more like. Like that. Like that.
Blow a little kiss.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's. It's a nicer gesture than giving the finger, but my heart knows it'll piss him off a little bit more. Right. I blow the kiss, Right? Yeah. Especially when it's a guy going crazy and he's cursing, he's honking. And a lot of times it's not your fault. People are just crazy on the roads. I understand this. And then even if I did something, because there's times where, like, if I, like, start to pull out, somebody's coming. Like, I'm quick to be like, I'm sorry. You know, like.
Yeah.
And then they still want. Honking. Give me the fingers. Like, whoa. Oh. Where's your forgiveness? Here.
Right, Right. Yes. Yeah. We can't hold them to that. They might not know Jesus. So.
Yeah.
But I mean, back to this. Even those. When those random weird things pop up, it's like, we are. We are called to take captive, right? Take captive our thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. And so it's not that you're not going to have difficulties or challenges and, you know, bad thoughts towards people. I think every single person has them every day. But it is like, take captive those thoughts. Like, you know, halt them in their tracks, right. And make them obedient to Christ. And it's like, all right. You know, I'm. Because this is. This is, I think, comes a lot back to just adopting a mindset of training, right? And it's just like, I'm. I'm in constant training here. I'm not trying to get better. I'm not trying to do things, but I'm in training. Right. Even if you just change your mindset to something like that, because trying is just like. I think. I hate that word just because I think it pretty much pre. Preloads an excuse for us to use down the road. It's like, well, at least I'm trying.
Yeah.
Right. At least I. I tried and it didn't work. It's like, no, I'm. Are you committed to this or not? Because if you're committed, then you're in training.
Yeah.
Right. If it's. Don't preload this to have an excuse of why it didn't work out at the end.
Right.
And Paul talks about this, Right. It's like we're to train our bodies, right?
To.
We don't just beat the air. Don't forget the actual scripture. Right. But whatever he says, beat the air. But I'm. I'm. I'm training my body, right? So. Yeah.
Yeah. Consistency is key. Yes. With, like, everything. It's. Maybe the older I get and the more I. I realize it, but it's everything with any discipline, any habit. When I met this young guy last week, and he said, hey, man, what do you do for workouts? And I was flattered that he said that because clearly, because I just recently I heard somebody else say, hey, do you go to the gym? I'm like, you can't tell I go to the gym. All right. I better do more at the gym. Right, right, right. And all I told him is he was 16 years old. I was like, bro, there's no secret workout. Just be consistent. Yeah. I'm 44 years old. Right. I've been more consistent than most people throughout my lifetime. But when you're consistent, like, you see results.
Yeah.
Period. My father told me when he got me my first bench and weights, and I was probably, like, 12, 13 years old, and me, I. I want to be working out four hours a day. I just wanted big muscles. I want the veins the next day.
Right.
And all he said to me was, like, rome wasn't built overnight. I was like, what the frig does that mean, dad?
Right?
What does that mean? Right. My father is very profound at saying things like that to somebody who wouldn't understand. He just left it at that. Okay, I'm gonna go work out that while I think about that. But it's just consistency.
Yeah.
And. And even with this being in your Bible, Right. If you wake up every single day, you're consistent with your alone time with the Lord, you're gonna prosper. Right? Tell me if every single day for a week, for a month, for three months, if you don't miss that dedicated devotional time with the Lord, that your life isn't going to be better than if you just sporadically did it here and there. And that's what we're. We're. We're kind of hardwired to do that, right? Yeah. To. We're intrinsically wired to get enough of God. And when we feel content, we feel Blessed. We feel oneness with him. We let our foot off the gas and we're like, okay, I'm going to coast now. And then we coast and usually our life goes to crap in some way, shape or form. It could just be the peace that we have. It could be. I know if I don't get that time with the Lord, I just feel like I have a chip on my shoulder. I'm not as patient as I normally would be. You're quicker to get angry at at things and the, the proof is in the pudding. But if you're just consistent and even now working out, I learned this from you. Sometimes a 10 minute workout, it goes a long way. If you do that 10 minute workout every single day.
Something, man, it's something.
Look at your muscles. It's like, oh, what you do today? It's like, oh, I did four sets over there, then that's it. I had to take a call.
Like, oh, okay, yeah, that's. Sometimes that's all I can get in, right?
You know, but you do.
But I do it consistent, right? Yes, right.
Where my mindset's usually, if I can get a full workout in, I'm like, man, might as well skip it.
Yeah.
Which is just stupidity.
Yeah, no, that's, that's so great. Just, I'm just thinking of like applying that to, you know, scripture and meditating on this. I mean, one of the biggest things for me in just rediscovering for the first time and like what lordship was, was just like when I looked up the word success in the Bible, like, is it even there? Can I be successful and be a Christian? And it brought me to that, to, you know, Joshua, where it's like, meditate on this book, the law, do not let it depart from your mouth so that you may do what it says, then you'll be prosperous and successful. And that's where I started, right? It's like, okay, I can do that. Maybe that's why Genesis is one of my favorite books, right? It's just like I meditated on that a lot, right? And it's just like it started to transform the way I thought. And ultimately then what I do now, right? And certainly not by any means have I arrived yet, as Paul would say. But I'm going to continue to do that and get better and better every day, right? And sometimes we struggle with that consistency or it's like we wake up late so we just scrap it all together. We scroll on social media and it's like, man, if you were just. If you were as consistent as reading the word of God as you were as checking Instagram or Facebook.
Yeah.
What the dirt? Like, just look at your screen time, right? You can probably identify a lot of areas. A lot of time that's wasted. What if, rather than every time you flipped open Facebook or Instagram, you. You had three scriptures in your pocket that you just meditated on and you ran through that. You're, you know, three times a day, four times a day, depending upon how often you go to the bathroom.
Yeah.
That'S usually when I'm on Facebook or Instagram or something, but.
Right.
But that's just. That's convicting even. Even to me. It's like, for me, it's. It's great in the morning because, like, you, if I don't have that time, I don't necessarily have a chip on my shoulder, but I do feel a little more frazzled.
Right? Yeah. Like, it's like things get.
I haven't gathered myself. Right. And it's a way to start the day. And I think that is it. All of this boils down to consistency.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did that with Candy Crush when it was really taking a stronghold in my life years ago, where every time I would, like, normally sit. Because if you have just like a couple minutes and you're like, ah. And this is why, you know, the enemy is winning in that regard when it comes to technology, because we don't just sit in quiet anymore. We don't. We have everything at our fingertips. And not only just like a game like Candy Crush, Remember when it's like, hey, I'm by myself, I got a deck of cards, I could play solitaire. And you're like. And then, like, comes out on the computer, you're like, oh, I would never, like, waste time actually dealing this out. I'm just gonna play in the computer.
Right.
But we don't sit in quiet and practice the presence of God at all anymore. And the enemy has an upper hand and he has a toehold on just, like, humanity in that regard.
Yeah, yeah, that's good. I mean, you mentioned that just reminded me of my Some notes from the past. It's like the presence of God brings peace, right? It's like, that's just when you do have that time with him, if you're struggling with peace in your life, just take a break, right? And just sulk in his presence. And you can't help but just have peace. Right. When you start to meditate on who he is, who he says you are. And I think it'd be great to even just give him a few call me affirmations. Yeah, we have them. And I mean, you guys should jot these down if you're listening at all or if you're like struggling in this area of like, how do I take on this, this, this new mindset? The simplest way is just to meditate on who God says you are.
Yeah, right.
And so jot these down or come back and, and revisit these things. But dude, one of the best ways for me was I bought those, you know, those. I don't know how big they were.
The three by fives. Yeah.
If they were even that, like the old note cards when you stand up in class. I just wrote scriptures on those and had them in my pocket throughout the day.
Yeah, right.
That's, that's what Ash does and still has me quiz her every now and then.
Yeah. When we declare affirmations over our lives, it's good because we are training our subconscious. So if it's something that we don't necessarily like, walk in. If I don't walk with boldness all the time, then I'm gonna declare boldness over myself. Right. Like I'm fearless, fearfully and wonder. Wonderfully made. Right. Something like that. Or if I, I lack courage or if I feel like I'm, I'm inadequate, I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna affirm or declare of my life. I am more than a conqueror. Yeah, right. I am an overcomer, things like that. So if you feel like you're struggling with mindset, then declare these things over your lives. That I am a child of the one most high. I am a chosen generation. I am a royal priesthood. Look yourself dead in the mirror and say, I am a, I'm a king. I'm a queen. Right. Things like that. Because you will start to believe what you're telling yourself.
Yes.
You, you, you train and discipline your mind and your subconscious really to start believing those things. And you're not lying to yourself. I mean, there's plenty of studies done where if you just wake up every day and say, I'm happy. Right. That's it. Like your day is going to be different and you're going to start to feel happy because you're just saying that over yourself. Yeah. That's the power of our words. And we're not declaring anything. I'm not telling you to declare that you're, you're happy or you're this or that. I'm telling you to simply declare over yourself what God is declaring over you already.
Yes. Alignment and agreement.
Yes.
What a lot of this comes back to. I mean, the, the whole, you know, the secret, if anybody remembers that or, you know, these declarations. It's like you. The law of attraction type of concept like that didn't just come out of nowhere. Like it's.
Right.
Whatever God creates, Satan counterfeits. Yeah, right. And like the Bible tells us these things. We have to, though, come into agreement, alignment with Christ, come into agreement. When we speak his word, it. It comes to fruition. Right. Yeah. What was, what's the verse even where. I always ask you where these verses.
Are.
And we talked about this a few weeks ago when we were meeting as a group of. Just like God, when, when our words come into alignment, it, like it releases God's angelic host to come to minister to us.
Right.
Do you remember where that was at all?
Oh, yes, yes, I do. That is. That is Psalm 103, I believe.
103. But also, I mean, there isn't. It doesn't even. Like Hebrews. Hebrews one.
Yeah.
Is basically referring back to one of the Psalms. But it's like when we, when we start to declare these things and you know, the power of our words, when they come into. Into agreement with God's Word, like he will unleash his angels, his. His heavenly host to actually protect us. Right. To minister to us, to, to guide us. And I think that's just incredible. Are you looking it up?
Yeah.
Trying to get reference in that.
Yeah. I've been in so many different Hebrews.
While you're looking that up, here's some affirmations for you guys. I have the mind of Christ. This comes from Philippians 2:5 also 1st Corinthians 2:16. I have the mind of Christ. Right. It's such a simple thing to say, but no, this is, this is what God's Word says. Right. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, of love in a sound mind. 2nd Timothy 1:7. You had actually just mentioned this. 1st Peter 2:9. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. Isaiah 20:6. 3. God keeps me in perfect peace. My mind is stayed on Him. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That's on every Christian gym in the nation. Most of us know that. Philippians 4:13. Right. This is a great one. Philippians 4:7. Right. The peace of God guards my heart in my mind. Right. Just having those little declarations, it's like there's power and authority when we come into agreement with His Word.
Yeah, it's driving me nuts. Nuts.
Still haven't found it.
No, it's Hebrews though.
Yes.
Yeah.
Oh, I've got it. I got it in my notes.
There you go. I got Bible study scriptures in my head. I got podcast, I got just own personal devotional time scriptures.
So Psalm 91 charges angels concern. Charge your angels concerning us. Oh goodness.
I got it written in my folder over there too. But that's not going to help us now.
Psalm 103. Angels go to work when our words align with God's. These are my notes. We'll come.
Oh, this is entertaining for the folks.
Yeah, it's all right. They can sit with us on this.
So Jace, how you doing? Your day going all right? Oh yeah, yeah, we gotta get you on camera, man. Yeah, you can talk about your love.
Life one, isn't it?
I'm not gonna remember this one. Right.
Well, Hebrews one is. Is great. It's a great book of Hebrews.
And in the.
In the past. I mean it's not even that long in the past. God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times in various ways. But in these last days he has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The sun is the radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of his being sustaining all things by the power of his word.
Right.
He sustains all things. And so this again, the power of his word is coming into alignment with that. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.
Right?
And then it goes on. And for to which of the angels did God ever say, you are my son. Today I become your father. Or again I will be his father and he will be my son. And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, let all God's angels worship him. And speaking of the angels, he says he makes his angels spirits into servants, flames of fire. But about the sun, he says, your throne, O God, will last forever and ever. A scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness, which is awesome. Therefore, God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. I'll skip down a little bit here.
What you look for, I don't think it's in chapter one.
I'm pretty sure. Pretty sure it was.
Yeah, maybe not.
Well, it says, are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? I don't think that's maybe the one I was thinking of, but maybe you're right on this.
Yeah. Cool thing about Hebrews one, though. It's good when people talk about Jesus not being God's. Literally God the Father speaking to the Son, because it says in verse eight, but to the Son, he says, your throne. Oh, God is forever and ever. Kind of debunks all those.
Yes.
No kidding.
Let me pull up the old Lagos. Oh, gosh, this is gonna get good now.
All right, guys, go get some breakfast. Maybe a brunch and.
Yeah, well, I want to go to. I'm gonna go to Psalm 103.
Don't I notice we have so many cameras in here. I never know which one to look at. Never know. Plus, Jace's live switch. I know him. That one. But, like, when I glance up, I just, you know, I'm looking here. We got a monitor over here. We got cameras here, here, here, bro.
Right here. Okay. Psalm 91 verse. Verse 11 says, for he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. Hebrews 1:14. And they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who inherit salvation.
That was.
That was what I was looking for.
Oh, okay. Yeah. That's not the verse that I was thinking you were referring to.
Okay, that's all right.
We covered a few of those. Yeah. But they're talking a lot about angels lately.
It's true. Worship angels. Worship he who created the angels. But I think it's cool that He's.
He's.
They're here for us, right? And when our word comes into alignment, they're here to minister to us, Right? They're here to. To charge over us and to. To protect us in certain areas. This is just something I've been praying over. Our kids, right? And it's. You know, when you send them out the door every day, it's like, lord, protect them. Like, charge your angels to protect them, watch over them.
So, yeah, if your obedience to God and the scripture was the basis upon angels surrounding you, which it is somewhat. We don't know the degree or the level, but we know when we are in alignment and agreement with. With God and with the things in the spirit, things of the spirit, that we know that those ministering spirit, spirits which are angels, are going to encamp themselves around us.
Yes.
So it's like, man, if we could. For a day, they Got all these. These glasses, these meta glasses, these. All these different glasses, right? If we could for like, even a millisecond, put on glasses where we could see the spirit realm around us, I bet we would, like, that would determine how close or how quickly we fell on our knees and reach out to. To God.
Yeah, right. That's for sure. That is for sure. Let's put a bow on this bro. Mindset of a king.
You don't want to pull up any other Bible software?
No, no, we're good.
Okay.
We're good.
The way you said that. Are you throwing in the towel on this episode?
I'm not throwing it in, man, but we're 54 minutes in right now.
Okay.
I'm trying to be out of time.
Around this thing, too, dude. Okay.
How many.
How long? I didn't know where to look.
How long have we done this?
One day. We'll just set up a camera here so you can see what I see. It's like, it's a wonder I could get anything out. I'm just overwhelmed over here. Oh, man.
All right, let's put a bow on this thing.
Yeah.
Back to having the mind of a king again. Comes rooted in our identity, in who we are, whose we are, right? Who he says we are. And that's first and foremost, like, you're just a king because you want to be a king. You're not going to be voted in as a king. You are a king or queen because you have been adopted as. As a son or a daughter, and you are now an heir, Right? You are a royal priesthood, and you have authority to walk in that. And this is, I think, a missing component of, again, a lot of Christians, and we need to take that seriously, right? It's like, I don't want to get to heaven by escaping through the flames, right? I want to get there and hear those words, well done, good and faithful servant. Right? I think all of us listening to this, I would hope that's your desire and your hunger. And we do that by making ourselves available, right? Being responsible with what he's given us and being willing to be accountable. And in some of that, the responsibility I think that. That we've been given or the privilege that I mentioned earlier is just like, are we going to take this seriously? Right? Like, am I going to meditate on what God says? Who God says I am? Am I going to actually put this stuff into practice? Not just be a hearer of the word, right? But an actual doer of the word.
Amen.
Amen. Bow tied Bow tied. All right.
Bow.
That all being said guys, have a great rest of the week.
Yeah.
Weekend. Yeah. Enjoy that. And, and take this seriously. Like spend some time in the word. Just do a search of who is it that God says I am. Start to, to declare these things over you because that's not you making some radical things. And again, we're not declaring things that are of this world. It's not like. And I have $10 million in my bank account. Right. There's no scripture that says that. Right. That's. That's the Ola blabbit and grab it and all the sayings. I forget they are. Right.
But I'm a co heir, right?
Yes.
I'm an heir of God coair with Christ. And my daddy does own a thousand or cattle on a thousand.
Yes, he does. Yeah. That's an absolute great scripture to put in. In alignment with that because it, that takes on an abundance mindset.
Yeah. Right.
And we serve a God, you know, John 10:10. It's like God came, the enemy comes to steal, to kill and destroy. But God came to give us life and life abundantly.
Right.
So how do we live this abundant lifestyle? And it's, it's not about riches and glory. Right. But it's the abundant. The, the fruit that we're looking for is the joy, the peace, the love, the grace. Right. The, the humility. Um, that's truly what living an abundant life actually is.
Yeah. I'm just finding out what the dollar amount would be because part of that's my. Yeah, Yeah. I just asked Chat GPT how many, how many cows could fit on an average hill what the dollar amount is. What's the value of the cow? Because really, when I think about my, my, my, my assets. Really?
When you fill out your next.
Yeah, when I apply for, for a.
Loan of some sort, what's your net worth? Well, I'm heir of a cattle on a thousand hills. So.
Yeah. This must not be a common question because Chat GPT is still thinking, searching.
We've debunked AI.
Yeah, that's great. Well, we'll get that number for you next week, folks. So you could pray exactly that dollar amount if you like, because you don't get the whole thing. You get part of it with like me, Riley, all of us who are children.
One of those prescriptive or descriptive verses.
Well, it's, it's prescriptive, like it's declarative about God.
Yeah, but do you think that verse actually is a thousand? Like specifically a thousand? Or do you think it's more of a representation.
Oh, it could be more than a thousand for sure. But we'll just.
You're just trying to have fun with it.
Oh my gosh.
Too much to read. Well, I'm gonna put. I'm putting a bow on this thing, folks.
Want a dollar amount. Just want a dollar.
You know what I'm entitled to with us this long on this week's episode. I promise we'll be better next week.
Yeah. Always.
Always. We're continuing to get better and better sanctification. Sanctification. Yeah.
