Do You Want More? Here's the BEST Way to Start!

A short, first-person YouTube talk by Sandi L Boucher recounting her experience at the annual general meeting of PARO (a women’s enterprise centre) where she felt surrounded by empowered businesswomen. She uses that anecdote to make a broader point: if you want more in life you should seek out and spend time with people already living the life you want (through clubs, events, books, videos, or in person). The video closes with a warm call-to-action inviting viewers to visit her website or contact her for further help toward their goals.

Hi everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher and I'm doing a special recording tonight. I put up my daily recording earlier today. But tonight I had an experience that I just had to share with you. Tonight I had the opportunity to go to the annual general meeting of paro, a women's enterprise center here in the city that I live in now. Now, this organization was instrumental in supporting me when I started my own business as well as a hundred other women here in the city. Tonight, at the annual general meeting, all of us business owners gathered to celebrate each other and to say thank you for the support we received from this organization. At one point during the meeting, I was sitting there and I took a minute and I looked around the room and I realized that every single woman in this room was a business owner. Every woman in that room was in control of her life, her destiny, her finances. I was sitting in a room of empowered women and I swear I could physically feel the strength in that room. As I sat there and realized this amazing group of women I was now part of my thoughts went to you, as they so often do, and I was wondering if tomorrow or the next day or whenever you gather with your friends, if you were to do the same thing, if you were to sit back and look at what this group brings into your life, would it be empowering? See, where I'm going with this is I always speak from personal experience. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know there's been times in my life when I was in a rut and I was depressed and I didn't think my life was going anywhere and. And I sought out and made friends with people who felt the same way. Except unfortunately, after a while, the shoe went on the other foot. Originally, I sought out these people because I was in a rut. But after a while I was in a rut because I was with these people. Now, I'm not advocating in any way, shape or form that you go out tomorrow and dump all your friends and go find somebody new to hang around with. That's not what I'm saying at all. If people are in your life, they're there for a reason. What I'm saying is, if you are one of those people that want more, that you realize you were cut out for more than this dead end job or this relationship that's going nowhere or, or you're cut out for more than raising your children now that they're grown and out of the house. If you want more, you have to look for and find the people that are already living the life that you want because you will start to act like the people that you hang around with. You don't become a better tennis player by hanging around the person that signed up for their first lesson. You have the nerve to play against the tennis pro and you ask for instruction, you ask for suggestions, you learn. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. There are people out there that have achieved what you want. How you seek them out, whether you read their books, whether you look at their videos, or whether you meet them in person is up to you. You want to become a writer, join a writings club, you want to do stand up comedy, Start going to open mic nights. Open yourself to people that have achieved what you want and then watch how it affects your life. Tonight, as I was sitting in that room, I only wished I had a magic wand that I could have instantly put all of you into a room where you're surrounded by completely empowered people so you could feel the strength of that opportunity. That's what I want for you. All I want you to ever say is that you are in control of your life, you are doing exactly what you want and that you are happy because we are deserve to say that. Thank you once again for watching my video. I hope that one of these touches you. I hope that it brings you maybe even just a little more clarity of your world. If you want more assistance, check out my website, give me a call, send me an email. I can't wait to help you along your life path to those goals and dreams that are just waiting to be achieved. Until then, be well and I'll talk to you soon. Bye bye.
