Sandi L Boucher (also Red Thunderbolt of the Loon clan, Seine River First Nation, Treaty 3 Territory, Northern Ontario) posts a July 1, 2023 membership update marking Indigenous Empowerment Day. She contrasts celebrating Canada Day with celebrating Indigenous empowerment, summarizes two membership offerings: "A Day That Changed Everything" (her career-launch seminar) and a video course on lateral violence (based on her book The Path). Individual-course prices mentioned: $95 for "A Day That Changed Everything" and $149 for the lateral-violence course; membership access is promoted at $19/month with monthly, annual, and group-rate options. She notes the lateral-violence video was designed during COVID and positions group learning as one way to overcome lateral violence.

Happy Indigenous Empowerment Day, everyone. What does that mean? I'll explain it in a second. Hello, everybody. It's Sandy Boucher here once again. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Treaty 3 Territory in Northern Ontario. And I'm here today with the latest membership update, and this one's going out on July 1st. And for my non Indigenous friends, you're probably celebrating Canada Day, and that's totally okay. If that's what you want to do, you go ahead and do that. I don't do that. I'm not going to do that. That would kind of make me a hypocrite, considering what I do for a living. Instead, I'm celebrating Indigenous Empowerment Day. June was National Indigenous Peoples Month, so it kind of makes sense that this membership update. Well, I've been focusing on Indigenous empowerment for the last little while, so I don't have one update for you this month. I have two. The first, a day that changed everything. Anyone who knows anything about my career, you know that, that, that was my very first seminar. That's the one that launched my career. That's the one that empowers the disempowered, that helps the marginalized realize they can have a voice, they can believe in themselves and they are valued. Now, if you were to buy that course individually and you can, you can go to my website, in my shop, look for a day that changed everything and it's going to cost you 95 bucks, or you go to my membership and you pay 19amonth and you get it and so much more. But that was not enough. I had to add one more thing because there's something that's decimating our communities and our organizations. And yes, racism, oppression, all of that is still happening. But I'm talking about something internally, and that's lateral violence. And if there's one thing I get asked to speak on on a regular basis when it's an Indigenous audience, is lateral violence. So now the path away from lateral violence is in the membership. This is the video course I designed during COVID because I was trying to still support the First Nation communities, even though I couldn't travel to them, and addressing a topic that we all need to understand so we can get past it. Of course it's empowering. Of course it's supportive. It's actually based on my book, the Path. I used the same medicine wheel framework, but I applied it to lateral violence. And yes, again, there's two paths. One, for the people experiencing lateral violence, and how to heal from that. And one for the helpers, those out there that are trying to support and encourage people that are suffering from lateral violence. So if you're working with marginalized people or indigenous people, or you are marginalized or indigenous, this is the course for you. Again, you can buy it individually, you can go to my shop and you can pay $149 for it, or you can join my membership and get that and so much more. At the end of this video, I'm going to have a quick subscriber slide that lists us everything that's in the membership right now. And to sign up, all you got to do is go to my website, click on membership, choose your plan. Do you want to pay monthly, do you want to pay annually? Or are you going to buy it for your entire staff and use the group rate so you can be empowered as a team? Imagine the lunchroom discussions you could have then, especially if you all agree to do one lesson a month or a week. Learn together as a team. That's another way to overcome lateral violence. So there you have it, my friend. Whatever you're celebrating today, I celebrate Indigenous empowerment every day today and every day until next time. I love you. Take care. Bye bye, Sam.
