Ever Considered EDITING Your Life? Maybe you should.

Sandi L Boucher teaches a ritual to release past hurts: write down a painful memory or person, tear up the paper, throw it away, and visualize it staying gone. She frames this as part of the Mecca Life strategy, a method rooted in mental and environmental awareness that gives you back control over what's holding you down.

Hi, everybody. My name is Andy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, A proud member of Seine River first nation in Treaty 3 territory in Northern Ontario. And over a three week span, I've been sharing the videos that make up a day that changed everything. Video seminar. It's based on my very first seminar, way back when, I was totally focused on Indigenous empowerment, before I realized that was only half the feather of Canadian reconciliation. But these teachings, these mindsets, these exercises really helped me pull myself out of poverty and violence into the life I lead now. And if there's something I would wish for you, it is that you leave behind such things as. As poverty and other people judging you and not accepting you for who you are and move into a life of your design. Not my life. A life that works for you. Not settling, not being a leaf in the wind. Your dream life. It is possible. While you're watching this, my tush is laying on a white sand beach in Mexico because I'm on my first ever Southern vacation. Something that people told me would never happen. That's internalized oppression. I don't play that game anymore. Now, today I'm really excited because this exercise, this video actually came to me as I was working on my very first book and getting it ready to go off to my publisher. I did something that I realized was actually a really valuable life exercise, even if you never write a book. And it's something I definitely want to share with you.
So let's talk about it the day that changed everything. Now, this episode, this module is called editing your life for a very important reason. But we'll get to that in a second. First, we need to celebrate. Did I say video 9? This is video 10. 10. 10. Video 10. We are two thirds of the way through this course now. You are still here, which means you are amazing. There's just no other way around it. You are amazing. I suggest you accept this, deal with it, and move on. Because you just got to own that now. You're amazing. Now, by the way, while we're talking about amazing, how are you? I hope you screamed awesome. That you are an amazing warrior embarking on a journey specific to you and only you. One that will motivate you and empower you to be everything you're meant to be. Awesome. Okay, now that we know you're awesome, we're going to cruise along and we're talking about the Mecca Life strategy. So, as I mentioned last week, we've done the M, which was mental awareness. We're now Finished the E, which was environmental awareness. And today we're looking at the C for the very first time. And I think you're gonna be liking this one. The C stands for control. Looking at how much control you do actually have over this crazy life journey that you're on now. If you were to watch Facebook on any given day, be careful doing that first and foremost. Let's start with that. But I always think of my mom when I look at the news feed in the morning, especially in the summertime and especially if it's a rainy day, because I will see update after update after update of update of people now having a horrible day because it's raining. My mom would think that's ludicrous. She would be the first to say, why are you betting on your happiness on something like the weather, something you totally don't control? Why are you doing that? Even more so when we used to come home from high school and we'd be in a bad mood because so and so did something, my mom's response was always just to look at us and say, don't be a leaf in the wind. And I used to like, what does she mean by that? And what she meant was, don't get blown around by other people's actions and opinions. You decide to have an amazing day. You decide to be a kind, loving, compassionate, sweet, amazing individual. What other people do shouldn't change that. Otherwise they're the wind and you're the leaf being blown around. And it's really hard to follow your own agenda and achieve your own goals and dreams if everyone else is blowing you around. Now, that's easy to say, but what if there's something in our past that is causing a problem now? Remember several videos ago, I don't remember what number it was. I should look that up. But we did the night sky. I did that list. And you drew your stars, and hopefully you have your picture hanging somewhere that reminds you of how many things you've survived and just how much wisdom you carry. Well, today we have another exercise for you to do, and it's called editing your life. So what you're going to need for this is a piece of paper. And I have like a tiny little post it note here. It doesn't matter. You can take any size piece of paper, really. You could take a full piece of paper and cut it in half or whatever. Use the full sheet, it doesn't matter. But what you need is a piece of paper. So if you need to pause the video, go grab some paper, get a pen Or a pencil or whatever you want to write with. And maybe a pen is a really good idea. And come back to the video when you're ready. Okay, so now you have your paper, and I was supposed to get a handy dandy pencil. What this exercise is about is the fact that for most of us, if not all of us, and truth be told, it's all puzzle pieces. And as I mentioned, everything that's happened in our lives forms part of our puzzle. But at times, as I've mentioned before, we have to choose to discard a puzzle piece. We have to realize that that may have worked in our lives before, but it anymore. And that's kind of what this exercise is, what I want you to do. In a second, I'm going to get you to pause the video because I really want you to think about this. I want you to write on this piece of paper. I want you to write about something in your past that you wish had never happened. A puzzle piece you need to discard. Now, often it's. And yes, I know because of that, you became the person are. But you could become a better version of you if you didn't have that person in your past who had called you down or humiliated you or worse. And there's so many cases where it's worse. And if that's happened to you, I absolutely apologize. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Maybe there was a teacher that told you you'd never amount to anything. Maybe there was a parent that was abusive. Maybe you don't need to write the parent's name, but you can write, I wish I was never. I wish that so and so had never insulted me. I wish that, you know, my dad had never left. Whatever it is that truly threatened to derail your train and knock it off its tracks, I want you to take a second and write it down on this piece of paper. And I write it down in whatever detail you want. Some people draw a picture. Some people just write a person's name. Some people write out a paragraph. But I want you to do whatever you need to do to seriously describe that. Like I said, in some cases it's one name and that's enough. Otherwise, you got to describe a certain event that happened. So now I invite you to pause the video and take the time to write that down. When we come back, I'm going to tell you what we can do next to help you get past that. So go ahead, pause the video. Okay, so now I'm gonna pretend we got this here. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh, my pen's not working. Okay, there. I've got, like, writing on you can't even see it. They're kind of sorta. It's writing on the piece of paper. Now this is super important, and you may think this is silly, but I'm gonna explain to you why it's so not. I need you to take this paper now, and I want you to rip it into tiny little pieces, as small as you can. And yes, it gets harder as it gets smaller. If you need the pause the video to do this, please do. Don't just watch me do it. It's so important. I'm stressing that. I need you to pause this video and rip up your piece of paper. Then start it again and I'll explain why. Okay, so now you should have your paper in tiny little pieces here. Remember how I keep asking you how you are, by the way, how are you? I hope you're still awesome and I hope you scream that. How often have I told you that you need to scream awesome? Because your spirit needs to hear you say that. That it hears all these negative things from everybody else saying things. It needs the counterbalance. It needs someone who believes in you. And you can be that person. Your spirit knows what you wrote on this paper. This spirit knows that what was written there really super hurt you. And your spirit just saw you destroy it. This is gone. Now I'm going to put this in the garbage. I just threw it away in the garbage. And now you can pause this video and go throw yours away in the garbage again. Your spirit needs to see you do that. So please pause the video. Go throw it in the garbage. Okay, now it's gone. I want you to play that back in your head. Imagine. Think about it. You're walking towards the garbage can. You're throwing it out. It's gone. The next time it tries to come into your life, you have memories of that person. I want you to stop those memories and picture walking to that garbage can and throwing it out. The only way this is getting back into your life is if you choose to let it back in. You destroyed it. It's gone now. You took that puzzle piece out. Your spirit saw you do it. That's how powerful you are. That's how much control you have over what's going to stay in your puzzle and what's going to get discarded. Now, that may seem silly, but it will works. Wisdom is simple. We make it complicated. I hope that made sense to you. And by the way, if anyone in your family is struggling, then Please either get them to watch this video or do it with them. You know how to do this. You can walk them through it. It's not that the words have to be exact. Just please share this with people. We need to get better at letting go of the past. As my mom would say, keep the lessons, leave the rest, because otherwise the baggage just gets too heavy to move forward now. I'm hoping you felt lighter. Yeah, threw that out. It's gone now. And now you're gonna be able to fly even faster towards that amazing future. Any single time. Something keeps threatening to keep coming up. Then do that exercise. You've got the paper, you know. Now have the skill. You've already skilled up. See, I told you. You had the ability to skill up if you wanted to. Now, this week, surprise. There is no exercise for you. Although I do encourage you to go practice doing that. Do it with a couple of things if you need to get rid of them, or with a couple of friends if you can. I do have a gift for you. A free download just for you to enjoy. Something you can print out or save as the back stick drop on your phone someplace where you can see it. That's just my gift to you because you are awesome now. How are you awesome? Yes, you absolutely are. I hope you enjoyed that video. 10 already done. I am so amazed. I believe in you and your amazing future. And I really hope you're smiling right now. I hope you believe. Or starting to believe too. Until next video. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye Bye.
