Grieving, Teachings Found in a Dead Cell Phone & a Very Important Question (Watch to the end)

Sandi L Boucher uses a dead cell phone to explain grief: the shock when it stops working, waves of loss that keep returning, and how memories eventually bring joy instead of pain. She asks viewers to find teachings in ordinary moments.

Foreign. Hi, everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the loon clan, a proud member of Seine river first nation in Northern Ontario. And I'm here today with this week's Tuesday Teaching. And believe it or not, this is a teaching foundation in a dead cell phone. Now, this morning, I don't know about you, I don't know how attached to your phone you are. I'm gonna admit, it's probably a codependent relationship. My phone goes everywhere with me, literally, now that I do my 10k a day, because the steps are registered on my phone. And I love that because as I'm walking, I can answer emails, I can check my social media. It's all good. The other reason I love my phone is back before the pandemic, when I was on the road all the time. I don't know about you, but sleeping in strange places, sometimes it's hard to get to sleep. For me, the easiest thing to do was I created a playlist that I only listen to at bedtime. I listen to it here at home, and I listen to it when I'm on the road. So as soon as those songs start. Starts, my brain knows bedtime, sleep time. And it works amazingly. Now, 99 of the time, I'm pretty good at keeping my cell phone charged. Last night, not so much. I woke up at the usual time, grabbed my phone off my pillow like I always do, headed off to make my coffee, and that's when I noticed it was dead. And I mean dead. You know how you push the button to bring it to life and nada happens? I plugged it in and waited. Nothing and nothing and nothing. And then finally you see that. That picture of the battery that tells you it's dead. Wait, wait, wait. And then finally, my icons come back and life returns to normal. Did you hear the teaching in that? I realized right after my phone came back to life that what I just described was the grieving process. When you first lose someone, they're just gone. They're just dead. And nothing works, right? You can get angry, you can get frustrated and. But nothing changes. That fact you just have to accept now all of your normal routines are upset and you can't do what you normally would do because you can't get past this fact that they're gone. But eventually, with enough time, and we all know the waves of grief, just when you think you're healed, poof. You get hit by another one. And a commercial comes on, or you see a sign or you have a memory and all of a sudden, you're a ball of tears again. But eventually all you have are those memories. You have the stories, you have the laughs, and suddenly you can share those, and it doesn't hurt anymore. In fact, it brings you joy. Just like when all the icons come back, eventually you return to your routines and you can function and you can enjoy your life again. You can be productive with all those amazing memories right there for you to hang on to. I hope that made sense to you. I hope that resonated with you because there are so many people out there grieving right now, and they're. They're in that first stage, and. And nothing is going to rush them through that stage, unfortunately. You have to take your time and you have to accept and you have to grieve and you have to get angry and frustrated and you have to cry. But know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Know that it does get better. Know that you will get through this. That's my teaching for this week. Take care of you until next week. I love you. Hey, guys. Sandy here. I wanted to add in this extra little bit today because I've been wondering about something. I'm wondering if you've noticed that in the last few videos, I've started to ask the same question. Did you hear the teaching? Did you hear the teaching in that? I hope by now you realize that these videos aren't some ego trip. This isn't just me showing the world how much I know. I'm trying to do for you. Exactly. Exactly what my mom did for me. I'm trying to help you hear the teachings and see the teachings in these everyday events so that you know that no matter how many loved ones you've lost, no matter how deep the grief is, that you're not alone. The Creator's there for you. We just got to start asking ourselves, did you hear the teaching? I hope that made sense. Until next week. I love you. Bye. Bye.
