Bonjour, Michkop Poconant quintenidish the cost Mung dough dam. Hello, everybody. It's Sandy Boucher here once again. And seriously, I got a question for you. Put up your hand if you think aging sucks or put a comment like a hell yeah or an amen or whatever it is, because that's what we're going to talk about in this why video. So today. Welcome back. By the way, first and foremost, I am Misko Poganon Kwe Sandy Boucher, Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Treaty 3 Territory in Northern Ontario. And today I'm talking about the June 5 blog post called Aging Humility. And by the way, the full blog post is below this video if you're interested in reading it now. Humility is everything to be. I'm Anishinaabe Kwe. I'm Ojibwe. It's one of the seven grandfather teachings. And so I always preach when I do my reconciliation work and I'm working with non indigenous people, I always tell them humility builds bridges, ego burns them. If you go into a First Nation community thinking you're all that in a bag of chips and you got all the answers, you are burning bridges and. But if you go in there with, you know, I would love, I heard you had this challenge. I would love to learn more. What have you tried? I think I might have an answer that might help you. But you're the expert on your community. Do you see? I'm building bridges there? Now, I realize mainstream, you're not taught humility. We are. But if you want to communicate with us, gotta learn our language, right? And in this case, I'm not talking about Anishinaabe, although it'd be really Anishinaabe Moen. It would be really cool if you learned our language too. That would be awesome. So what is this blog post about? Well, Recently I turned 59. And recently my seminar schedule has been insane to the point where I was doing two out of town events a week. Let that sit in for a sec. Keeping in mind that I'm talking about Indigenous empowerment or reconciliation in my seminars. It's not an easy topic. It's emotionally draining. Add to that. So two events a week, 59 years old. Add to that that most people don't realize I have a permanent neck injury. I am always in some degree of pain. Today probably a 2, 3. But get this, when I get tired, that's when the pain gets intense. Maybe two seminars a week. Not a good idea. That's what this blog post was about. I am Red Thunderbolt Woman. I am used to moving as fast as lightning. I think you can tell I'm kind of animated, like a human muppet. I'm not used to doing things slow, but as my elder has suggested for years, no, lightning doesn't move slow, but it doesn't storm all the time either. So this post was all about my lesson in humility. Realizing I had to reschedule some things. I had two events a week is no longer something in my ability, in my range. And don't think I'm going quietly into the night here. I'm fighting this tooth and nail up in my exercise game, watching what I eat. But even then, sometimes you just gotta accept so what do you think? What do you think? Humility teaching. What lessons have been in your world? I'd love to hear comment below. See you tomorrow in the next why video. I love you. Bye bye.
