To start out today, I have one simple question for you. If you wanted a glimpse at the future, where would you look? Think about it. Think about it. I bet you know the answer. And when we come back, I'm going to share mine. Let's talk about it. Hi, everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Treaty 3 Territory in Northern Ontario. And as I mentioned yesterday, today or not today, not just today, this week we are focusing on an Indigenous worldview. And I'm sharing some things with you to help you understand how we see things a little bit better. And that will obviously, in turn, help with your Indigenous engagement efforts. So yesterday we talked about the tie to the past and the tie to spirit world. Today I said that I was going to share with you about a specific tie to the future. And elders. I get to travel across Canada and I get to hear from and work with many amazing elders from different nations and different cultures. And I've heard so many of them say, if you want to see the future, look at the children. Is that what your answer was? Well, today is a very special day in my world because today is the anniversary of my son's introduction to this world several years ago. And I don't know if he'd appreciate me putting the age on that, so I'm not going to. But today's my son's birthday, and he arrived two months early. And I think, honestly, in retrospect, the world needed someone with a heart the size of his, his compassion, his understanding, his gift of conflict resolution, his gift of empathy. All of these things are so needed in our world. And. And I know they were needed in mind. And I love to take this day. There is no way I could do a video or a blog post on this day and not focus on him. And he's one of the reasons that I sleep soundly at night. If, God forbid, something were to happen to me and my journey would come to an end in the near future. I don't worry about my son. He's going to be just fine. He is exactly where he wants to be. And I couldn't be more proud as a mom. I think that's what we all wish for. That's what we just want to say for our kids, that they are fine, that they will do well without us, and they can stand on their own. They're independent and strong, and they're right where they want to be. And that most definitely describes my son. Oh, Blue had to make an appearance in another video this week. You're too cute. Until tomorrow. I have another glimpse into the future for you. Not specific, my son. I think you know what it is. Let's see. Until tomorrow. I love you. Take care. Bye. Bye. Lou says bye too, I think.
