Introducing Personal Power Principle #9 (End the Feeling of Helplessness!)

Sandi L Boucher argues that committing to level up in some way each year, whether saving money, reading a book monthly, or learning recipes, reduces helplessness and builds a sense of control. Small incremental improvements compound into real progress.

Foreign. Hi, everybody, it's Sandy Boucher here once again. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine river first nation in Northern Ontario. And I am so excited. Excited because we're now in the month of September, which means a brand new principle for you. And this one. This one I live every single day. I probably live all of them every single day. But this one I am conscious of. And honestly, I was thinking about it before I shot the video and I was living this. I can't remember a time I wasn't living this, that this wasn't my mindset. Even before I identified as a principle I live by, I was living by it. Okay, so do I have you curious enough here? It is, the ninth personal power principle. Commit to leveling up in some way every year. Don't just get older now for me. I measure that in so many ways. I'm in business, so my revenue has to be higher than last year. I have to have more offerings for you. I have to be a better person. I have to be healthier. Right now I got a little Covid fluffiness going on, so I want to be smaller. I want to be more educated, more knowledgeable, more wise. How would you improve? What would you change? I'm not talking some ridiculous goal. I want to make a million dollars by December 31st. If you know how to do that, give me a call, send me an email. Love to chat with you, but a realistic. I have zero in the bank right now. By December 31st, I'd like to have a hundred dollars set away. Not for me to spend, but just for a rainy day, because I know rainy days come. I want to set aside $200 because I know that car is going to need new tires come the spring. That's going to be. If I start saving now, I won't even notice it. I want to have read a book a month. I want to take a new course. I want to learn five new recipes. Whatever it is, guess what it does. It takes away the feeling of helplessness and officially puts you in charge of your life. And trust me, nothing feels better than not feeling like a leaf in the wind. Feeling like you're rooted and grounded, that you know who you are and that the storms out there don't change that. Can you tell I'm really excited about this principle. Here it is, one more time. Personal power principle number nine. Commit to leveling up in some way every year. Don't just get older now for me. Honestly, I don't wait for the year. What's that saying? If you watch the pennies, the dollars take care of themselves. I level up every week. And guess what? By doing that, I have definitely leveled up by the time the next year comes around. I'm dying to hear what you think of this principle. If you're on my email list, send me an email. If you're not on my email list, why are you not on my email list? You can send me an email. Anyways, I would love to hear from you. Do you follow this principle? Do you level up? What kind of things have you leveled up too? Come on, let's do some bragging here. I want to hear your accomplishments. We list off all the things we've done wrong all the time. Now's the chance to cheer about what we've achieved. Going to spend the whole month expanding on this principle for you, as always. So buckle in. It's time to level up. Until next week. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. Bye.
