Descendants someone is gonna make the one comment that status has nothing to do with blood quantum. And I agree. We don't do blood quantum in Canada. It's not how much indigenous you are. That is not the point of the Descendian. We are not calling people out because they don't have enough indigenous blood. We are calling them out because they don't have an indigenous worldview, they don't have indigenous lived experience, they have not been exposed to or raised in our teachings, they do not carry our knowledge. That is the problem. Not the percent of their indigenous blood. Which is cringe for me to even say.

Six generations ago is Indigenous, what's the odds you inherited that worldview or those.
Teachings that they weren't drowned out by the more predominant or common cultural references and influences you would have had? That's the point.
We're not saying deny that puzzle piece. But I gotta ask, why do you have such an issue with your other puzzle pieces? Like what about that culture that you have a lot of influence in or a lot of references to?
Why aren't you proud of that one?
Don't tell me it's just because there's funding and positions for indigenous like you do realize those exist because it is really hard for us to get to those levels with the barriers we face. The barriers created against us, not against those other cultures. So let me be clear, Descendian, that has diddly squat to do with percent of blood because we don't do that.
It is lack of knowledge.
Someone portraying themselves as having our world view, having our teachings, having our knowledge, bidding for the funding or the job or the accolades or whatever the case.
May be that is the issue. Not blood quantum. I hope it makes sense now.
