Sandi L Boucher, Red Thunderbolt of the Loon clan, Seine River First Nation, says your value is given at birth and no one can take it unless you let them. She uses a clothing-store thought experiment and a personal insult to show that what others think doesn't change who you are, and encourages you to affirm yourself in the mirror.

Foreign. Hi, everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the loon clan, a proud member of Seine river first nation in Northern Ontario. And I'm here with. With this week's Personal power message. So we're still in January 2021. So we're still focused on the first of 12 principles of personal power. The first one says that your value was gifted to you on the day you were born and that no one can take it away from you unless you give them the power to. Now, over the course of the last couple messages, I've been reinforcing that process principle, and that's what I'm gonna do again this week. I want you to imagine something for a moment. Now, if we weren't in lockdown, I would tell you to go to a store and try this. But instead, you're just gonna have to imagine it. I want to imagine that you walk into a clothing store, woman's, man's clothing store, whatever one appeals to you. You go over to the rack where all the new shirts are, and you find one that absol. Appeal to you, okay? So you take that shirt off the rack, and you're looking at it. And now I want you to enthusiastically and loudly exclaim that you do not like this shirt. You do not think it's worth the price they're asking. And then I want you to stand there for a second and see if the price goes down. It's not going to. Right? Because it's just your opinion. It doesn't change the value of the shirt. Do you see where I'm going with this? That person telling you you're not worth the air you breathe. And yes, I've had someone say that to me in my past, does not change your value. Their opinion is just their opinion. And by the way, to all the parents out there, you know what I'm talking about. If your child is getting bullied at school, school. And other people are ridiculing them and criticizing them, does that change their value? No. And I'm certain you've told them that. That that person's opinion doesn't matter. That they're beautiful and they're sacred and that you love them. Do me a favor, please, go walk over to your bathroom mirror, look at it and say the same thing to yourself. That you're beautiful and amazing and that you love you and that the opinions of other people just don't matter. Because it doesn't. It doesn't. I don't know if you're a fan of Brene Brown. I definitely am. But she talks about people in the cheap seats. If you're out there trying, you're trying to get an education, you're trying to find a job, you're trying to better yourself, and someone who isn't doing anything is criticizing you, just remember, they're sitting in the cheap seats. That doesn't matter. You focus on you and becoming the best you you can be. You are amazing and you deserve to realize that. I hope that makes sense. Until next week. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. Bye.
