Let's Get Honest! (More on Personal Power Principle #11)

Sandi L Boucher explores Personal Power Principle #11: you're limited by the barriers you choose to defend. Stop defending critics and obstacles. Instead, build self-belief, find supportive people, and weekly remove one defended barrier.

Foreign. Hi, everybody, it's Sandy Boucher here. Once again, I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Northern Ontario. And this week is a real powerful and personal message. So once again, I'm expanding on personal power principle number 11. And just to remind you, here it is. You will forever be limited by the barriers you choose to defend. Now, just a reminder for you in case you're new here and new to these videos. I am Anishinaabe question. And I share these personal power principles not only because they help me be a quay living in Canada in this era, but they really help other people as well because traditional Indigenous knowledge is incredibly valuable and that really hasn't been highlighted over history. So I share these principles to help people understand that in many cases, Indigenous people have been underestimated. I've got bells and whistles going off all over the place. It's a busy day here. But you are important, which is why I wanted to do this message. So we're talking about barriers we choose to defend this month. And I can't help but think, thinking sometimes those barriers are other people and we defend them. We make excuses for why someone insults us. We make excuses for why someone treats us badly. When I look back over my life, I wasted so much time trying to convince other people of my value. And guess what? I realized I did that. And I was so desperate for them to see my value because I was trying to convince myself I didn't yet see my value. And if they didn't see it, well, then that just fed my worst fears. What if I didn't have value? Your value was gifted you on the day you were born. Whether you can see it or not, you are proud, priceless. And if someone else can't see it, that's their vision problem. So this week I want you to stop defending your critics. Stop defending those that want you to believe that you're less than. I want you to seek out and find the people that believe in you so that you can start believing in you. I want you to start being nice to that person. And in the mirror, I want you to start putting all your time and energy into building your belief in you, not someone else's. Here it is, one more time, Personal power principle number 11. You will forever be limited by the barriers you choose to defend. This week, my friends, stop defending barriers. Again, same homework assignment as last week, but this time let's add in other people as well. Not just the selft talk, not just all the excuses we give ourselves for why we can't succeed. Let's stop defending those people that would tear us down. Because that's not their job. And what they say isn't true. If you need to talk to someone who believes in you right here. Or talk to your creator, God, Higher power. Go sit under a tree. Realize you're a beautiful part of this creation. You're here on purpose, like everything else. Don't need any barriers. Just need belief in you. Until next week. I love you. Take care. Bye Bye, Sa.
