A short YouTube monologue by Sandi L Boucher (Red Thunderbolt, Loon clan, Seine River First Nation) presenting Personal Power Principle #9: "Commit to leveling up in some way every year — don't just get older." She relays an anecdote where her son, turning 17, said "I'm 17 now. I can't behave like a 16 year old. I have to level up," which inspired the principle. The speaker encourages viewers to choose areas to 'level up' (knowledge, health, compassion, activity, helpfulness), references a workbook to plan changes, and invites audience stories via email.

Foreign. Hi, everybody, it's Sandy Boucher here once again. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine river first nation in Northern Ontario. And this month we are talking about personal power principle number nine, which is one of my faves because it's something that I consciously follow every single day, as I mentioned in last week's video. So just as a reminder, here it is, one more time. Personal power principle number nine. Commit to leveling up in some way every year. Don't just get older. Now. This principle actually was delivered to me by my son. And I don't think he'll mind me sharing this story with you. I know. It's one of the things I absolutely love. One of my most favorite memories with him, he was just turning 17 and I wished him happy birthday like always and he pondered it for a little bit and then he shared with me that he was focusing on leveling up. I had never heard the term before. So I asked him what he meant and in that serious way that my son always has, he's incredibly wise and always considers things so deeply. He just looked at me and said, I'm 17 now. I can't behave like a 16 year old. I have to level up. I was so blown away by that, especially being female of an older age and watching my friends freaking out about getting older. Well, for one, I now know what an honor and a privilege it is to to get older because so many don't. I'm not even going to expand on that. I know you know what I mean. But instead of freaking out about getting older, level up, make it your responsibility to be more. If there's one goal I consistently have is that I always want to be more. I want to know more, I want to be healthier, I want be wiser, I want to be more compassionate, I want to be more active, I want to be more helpful. I want to level up. So this week, the little workbook is going to help you decide how you want to level up, what you want to do to level up, and how you're going to do it. Why? Because we all deserve to level up. And imagine how amazing this world would be if we all carried the responsibility and committed to living up to the responsibility of leveling up. Here it is, one more time. Personal power principle number nine. Commit to leveling up in some way every year. Don't just get older. I am dying. Send me an email. I want to hear how you're going to level up. And. And while you're at it. Give me a story or share with me a story of how you have leveled up in the past. What can you do now that you couldn't do before? I know there's tons of stuff because I know you're amazing. So send me an email and let me know your leveling up efforts. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. Bye. Sam.
