RANT WARNING! ABC ABC ABC!!! And Eff You Doug Ford!

Sandi L Boucher responds to Premier Doug Ford calling consultation with distant First Nations about the Ring of Fire mining project "ridiculous." She argues Ford's dismissal shows why real reconciliation never happens: convenience always wins over genuine engagement with Indigenous peoples.

So when I make a mistake, I own it. In my world, that's just being an adult. It's maturity. It's something I wish a lot of our political leaders would embrace a whole lot more. I mention that because a little while ago, I released a video, I Will Own it, asking people in Ontario what they thought of Doug Ford because he's Conservative. By. By the way, Doug Ford is our Conservative premier right now, and he called an election. So he's Conservative, which in the context of politics in the world right now, that is really scary. And conservatism in Canada, just as scary. And I've never been a fan, but he did like the way he was willing to stand up to Trump. So I did the video saying, are you confused? Let me be crystal clear. I'm no longer confused. And for all those people that are getting exhausted of hearing about reconciliation and wondering why this is taking so long, I got an example for you. Because, long story short, Doug Ford can go do sexual things to himself. Because, hard pass. Let's talk about it. Sam. Bonjour, Mishko paganang que nadishnikas mang dodam. Hi, everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Treaty 3 Territory in Northern Ontario. And this was not what I plan to do a video on. I had another video lined up. I guess that's going to be tomorrow's video. But I saw something come across my Facebook feed, and it took everything in me to keep my head together, because as I mentioned in the opening, I have no doubt in my mind there are Canadians out there going, if I hear the word reconciliation one more time, I'm going to scream, why aren't we just doing this? We've been talking about it forever. By the way, indigenous people are saying the same thing, so at least we're standing on the same bridge. But if you're wondering why it's taking so long, boy, do I have an example for you. So what I'm going to share with you was shared by John Thompson. He, in my humble opinion, is the definition of independent journalism. He not sure if he's from up north, but he's definitely spent his time in Northern Ontario. So often he's on the right page. He gets whatever we're discussing. He is non indigenous, I should mention, but he gets it. Because so often when he doesn't get it, he's known for asking the questions. He asks respectful questions. He wants to understand, I believe, and he's written for a variety of different entities over the years. I believe he writes for Ricochet now. But I follow him. He's like I said, if I want to hear facts and I don't always agree with him, which probably proves he's an excellent source. So, I mean, we don't need echo chambers, right? We need information. So we're talking about good old Premier Doug Ford, huh? I'm going to share with you what John released this morning by the time. Well, released Monday morning. You're watching this on Tuesday. I'm shooting this within 30 minutes of John posting this. You'll get it in a second. You'll get it. Hang in there. Okay, so here is what John Thompson posted. Speaking on the proposed Ring of Fire in Sudbury yesterday. I'm going to interject Ring of Fire mining project for the northern communities, something Canada. Canada, Ontario's been pushing for for a while. The First Nation communities have serious issues with this project being pushed through, which is why it hasn't been. There's concerns. Back to John's sharing. Speaking on the proposed Ring of Fire in Sudbury yesterday. So Premier Ford was in Sudbury yesterday Sunday. Progressive Conservative leader Doug Ford said the push to consult with first nations hundreds of kilometers away is quote, unquote, ridiculous. This is his quote, take us to court, do whatever you want. We're moving. He said, enough's enough. It's been 20 years. I'm. This is Dudley George all over again. This is insane. In light of these comments. And then John went on to share some articles. We're too far away. We're in the damn province that you are premier of. It's taking too long. Maybe that's because the concerns haven't been addressed. This is where reconciliation falls apart. And I've said this a hundred times, the word that is the enemy of Indigenous reconciliation, the arch nemesis, the counterbalance, however you want to put it, is convenience. Because I have seen time and time again municipalities, business entities, corporations, nonprofits, whoever, all down for indigenous reconciliation, Indigenous engagement, working together until there's a problem, until it's not convenient, until it might take time or money. Then the bulldozers come out, figuratively or literally in this case, but figuratively most often. Meaning? Well, we tried to work with them, but they're being difficult. So we're just going to do it anyways. Which means it was never a real conversation in the first place. It was never a real partnership. It was lip service. It was bs. So as I said in the opening, Doug Ford, who doesn't deserve the title of Premier can go after himself because do you think you're convenient to the First Nation peoples and communities? I guarantee flipping to you, you're not. But guess what? Here we are hundreds of years later, we're still trying to talk to you and we still believe at some point someone will actually speak to us honestly. Not two faced and not saying BS like that. So a thank you to John for sharing it. That video I put out earlier, I won't delete it, but I have my answer. I'm not confused, Doug Ford. And the Conservative Party consistently continues to be an absolute threat to indigenous peoples. Saying anything else is lying to yourself. And let's just leave that to the conservatives because they seem damn good at it. So. We're ridiculous. Our issues are ridiculous. Talking to us because we're too far away. What it's our communities you want to come into. Too far away. It's your our communities you want to rip to shreds with your mining. Too far away. You don't think they're too far away to destroy and just too far away to talk to us. Thank you Doug Ford for showing your true colors. Because I for one almost forgot. I won't make that mistake again. Thank you to my viewers for listening. Sorry about the rant, but holy crap. This is why reconciliation can happen. Because idiots like this get in charge. A, B, C, anything but conservative. Make sure to vote. We need you. Abc, abc, say it as often as you can. Abc, abc, anything but conservative. Until tomorrow. I love you. Take care. Bye bye.
