SO MUCH TO DISCUSS! @EdMylettShow @BUILDWithStephenScoggins @trevormoawad9983 @joelosteen

YouTube vlog by Sandi L Boucher (Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, Seine River First Nation, Treaty 3 territory) reflecting on a training video by Ed Mylett ("Unlock Your Potential and Do Impossible Things", released July 20). Sandi summarizes core themes—standards vs. goals, neutral thinking, energy in the room, aiming high—and applies them to her Indigenous reconciliation work and personal growth. The video ends with a promotional segment for her son’s reclaimed-wood keepsake (approx. 6"×4"×3") sold for $50 plus shipping and a raffle (tickets $10 each or 3 for $20). Sandi notes the Ed Mylett video is about 1 hour 15 minutes and that she will link it in her show notes.

Actually reviewing an Ed my training video. That blew my mind. So many takeaways, of course, applied to the reconciliation journey. Just. You're gonna want to watch that. And I am shooting the newest video for my son's latest woodworking project. Hint, hint. It's pretty awesome. So stick around. You're gonna love this. Let's talk about it. Hi, everybody. My name is Sandy Boucher. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine river first nation in Treaty 3 territory in Northern Ontario. And as I mentioned, I was shooting three videos today. I did the question video, I did the draw video for my son's latest wood product. You'll see that at the end of this video. And no, we're gonna review Ed Mylett's video. It was actually released on July 20. I have it up on my other screen here, and it was called unlock your potential and do impossible things. And he had various guest speakers on it. I watched it this morning. It's 11 o' clock on Sunday here, so welcome to my world. I love this stuff. Love this stuff. And I just thought I would summarize. I think it's about an hour and 15 minutes well worth watching. I will link it in the show notes so you can watch it. But here's some of the. Just the quotes that just. Mic drop. And of course, in a lot of cases, I wrote down things as it relates to my career and Indigenous Canadian reconciliation. So the first one, Ed Mylett was talking and he was saying, goals without standards are empty. And I was like, interesting. And what he said is, you have to focus on your standards. And later on, his first guest is Steven Scoggins. He's the host of From Stuck to Unstoppable, the podcast. And what Steven said was, your willpower will always lose to what you really believe. So your standards, if this is, for example, being honest is one of your standards. Right? You will always do that. But if you're. If that's not one of your standards, then in a crunch like, are you gonna stick it out honest, even though it's uncomfortable? No, you're not. You're going to come back to your standards or who you identify as, which is why it is so important to realize that there's just so many quotes in here. But you are amazing and you are worth it, and you are capable of amazing things. So we got to be careful. But focus on your standards. Who. What are your standards for the person you want to be? I am a hard worker. I am honest. I am dedicated I am persistent, which is why I'm watching a training video on Sunday morning. Not because someone's forcing me to. I own my company. I'm doing it because I want to. This quote, this quote, what you do next predicts your future, not how you feel. So if you're feeling depressed, disillusioned, helpless, your future is. Is set in what you do. Do you give into that feeling? Do you get up and you try to do something even though you're not sure it's going to succeed? The action is what's going to dictate it. Ed talks about becoming an impossibility thinker and a possibility achiever. Envision the impossible. Like those people that limit themselves to smart goals. Well, those are managers you have to envision. I envision myself on a stage in front of a hundred, hundreds and hundreds of people, thousands of people, long before I started my public speaking career. Did I know how I was going to do that? No. And that's the point. And, and, and actually highlights that in this video. Successful people jump into the unknown, whereas people that don't tend to be as successful, they're worried about. Well, I need to know all these facts before I jump in. Successful, successful people understand. You're not going to know all the answers. Sometimes you got to do it to find the answers. Goals or energy. You don't always get your goals, but you always get your standards. Right. Love it. Love it. Oh, this one. Success in a space depends on the energy in the space. That made me think of my reconciliation work as Anishinaabe Kwei, as an indigenous woman. When I walk into a room, I can feel if someone resents me being there or has a problem with me being there, especially if they know I'm bringing a different perspective to the meeting. That's the energy in the room. And how success, how successful this meeting is going to be is dependent on the energy in the room. So the question is, what's the energy in your room? What kind of culture are you building at your business? Are your indigenous staff people comfortable in that space or is the energy making it loud and clear they're not. The other one. The highest energy wins. You know what this made me think of? The loud, obnoxious, racist person who has the most energy on the bus, in the coffee shop, whatever someone has to match or overpower that energy with. Not in my city, Mr. Like, just, we're trying to eat here. Sit down, be quiet. Right. Like, we can't let the highest energy wins and we can't let them win. This one. Who is it? Trevor Moard. He's a performance coach and he talked about. I won't tell you the story, you can watch the video. But he. It's a story of a person who basically willed themselves to death because they believed in the situation they were going to die. So the quote was, don't talk yourself into dying. In other words, don't convince yourself you can't do something. Be careful of those thoughts. Believe what is possible. Believe. They limit themselves to I could never do that, rather than what they could actually do. And that's all those experiments about, you know, telling students they're a. Students and watch them achieve rather than believing that they're. They're failing students. As Ed Mylett put it, don't say stupid things out loud. Like, I could never do that. He also added, try not to think them even, but definitely don't say them out loud. Now this is where it got really exciting. They started talking about neutral thinking and the example now, this is him and who did I just say? Trevor. This is good. This is really good. So you have positive and negative. We know that. But the metaphor they used is think of a car. You don't go from reverse to drive. You have to go through neutral. And the problem is you can take a negative person and drag them into positive. You have to go through neutral first. So neutral thinking neutral is the bridge, the middle part, right? So think of someone just. They divorce their partner walks out on them, saying to them, well, think of all the people you get to meet now is not conducive. You have to acknowledge the hardship. But like, it's neutral. You don't make it a negative or a positive. Some. I see it all the time. Someone passes away and the response is they're not suffering anymore. That's leaping to the positive. They can't go there. You have to acknowledge it, but don't linger. The pain is real. So getting to neutral, like back to my work again. If someone has all these negative stereotypes about Indigenous people, we're not going to get them into Indigenous people are amazing, even though we are. We're going to get to neutral where you can look at the facts of Canadian history, Indigenous history, and realize that these people are going to have challenges because of what the body that is Canada has done to us. Right? That's not a negative or a positive. Those are facts. Right. If we can acknowledge the facts, then we're getting close. We're building the bridge. We just have to find a way to keep going. Apollo 13, quote and the other point of being a neutral thinker, which is so new to me and yes, I ordered the book because I have to find out more about this is neutral thinking builds credibility with you. And this is where they take the shot at the New Year's resolutions or affirmations. Right? And I know Tony Robbins said ages ago, if you stand in the middle of your garden and just say, there are no weeds, there are no weeds, there are no weeds. You're going to lose your garden to the weeds. Like the affirmation isn't going to help. And if you keep saying, I am a successful person with a million dollars in your bank, in my bank account, your spirit goes, no, you're not. You're lying to me. Right? But if I'm a successful person capable of achieving big dreams, including million dollars in my bank account, neutral, we're talking about I'm an amazing person, right? Or I have achieved great things in the past, I will do it again. Right. So don't lie to yourself. In other words, we that right. It takes what it takes. Is by the way, the name in Trevor's book. Try to put a link to that too. And then Trevor said something that I was like, yes. Just yes. And the quote is, I'd rather aim high and miss than aim low and hit the target. I'd rather aim high and miss than aim low and hit the target. 110 flipping percent. I would not be in business if I didn't want to do. I am like so excited these days because it feels like I'm on top of the mountain. I finally got my ducks in a row and they look pretty cute. I've got the puzzle pieces coming together now. It's like, what can I do? Let's see. I haven't hit the wall yet. I don't know where it is. Is there a wall? Can I just. So exciting. It took 15 years to get here, right? Here's that quote. Your willpower will always lose to what you really believe. Do I believe I can do this? Absolutely flipping lutely. Watch me. Confidence is built on what you do. Non magical words. Do you want to build your confidence? Do what scares you. Write the blog post and put it out there. Three people will read it. I used to shoot. When I first started my business, I shot videos knowing no one was going to watch them. But I shot the video for the woman that was going to one day watch it. Back then I only worked with indigenous women. So that's why Trevor goes on to point out, imagine if the baby was trying to walk, learn how to walk, and said, you know what? Every time I do it, I fell on my face. I think I'm just going to sit over here and wait it out for a while until I figure out how to do this. That's not how you learn to walk. You gotta eat the floor a couple times. You gotta keep doing it. And that's life. That's achievement. That's the work that's required. Another thing that they mentioned that is just so true in my career, experience over theory, experience is authenticity resonating with an audience. You can list off all the facts, but if you can share how you walk that walk, that's when you get to people. We have to. Here's the quote from Trevor. We have to be neutral in our language, but radical in our candor with ourselves. Be real, like, yep, that sucked. I did a lousy job, but I can do better. That's the neutral. That time is done. That was lousy. I definitely need to prepare more. Those are just facts. That's not a shot. I'm not tearing myself apart saying that, you know, I could never do a good job. It's just facts. Ha. And then the last person was Joel Osteen. He's a pastor and televangelist, so obviously referencing the Bible. But he pointed out how every new day starts in the dark. That it starts at 1201. Right? It doesn't start at 7am or 9am or whatever time the sun comes up where you are, it starts in the dark. And they pointed out, and this was mind blowing, that if you're in the dark, that's the seed in the ground. You're not buried, you're planted, and all growth starts in the dark. This is your chance to grow and learn and come up with a different outcome. Even if you didn't choose to be planted in this dark right now, you can plant. You are that plant and you can grow out of it. And I've been in the dark so many times, I am living proof you can come out of it. Oh, this one. Ha. Whether you believe in God, creator, higher power, Dr. Phil, Oprah, I've said this a hundred times. They reference God. God will meet you at the level of your expectations. I meet way too many indigenous people that are just okay with whatever life brings. That is internalized oppression. I'm sorry, that's not our culture. There is no animal on this planet that just passively prays they're going to survive winter. You prepare for it, you want, and that's their Success. And your success requires you prepare for it. Don't just sit there in the lake with no provisions waiting, letting the waves take you out. You know the waves are coming. Get a canoe. Prepare. Remember, the enemy underestimates you, but Crater knows you are more, and the Crater expects you to be more. Enemies do not know what's in you and I. That inspired me to write a quote. So here it was. I don't need to understand why I am the way I am. I need to accept I am the way I am. And I need to love the way I am. And I need to find those who love me the way I am, too. Yay. And then Ed finishes off the video talking about how your obsessions become your possessions. And you can tell if something's your obsession, your drive, your motivation. If your obsession distracts you from life, you're trying to do something else. But you want to go work on that craft project or you want to go do that side hustle. Well, that's where your passion is. That's your obsession. That's a huge hint. And if you want to know, if it's not your obsession, then life distracts you from doing it. So find the things that you can't be distracted from. Huge hint that that's what you should be doing. And know that is never a negative thingy. It's not about running away. So don't let life distract you from what you're meant to be doing. He said to turn the PB off, turn the radio off. No one cares what the Real Housewives are doing. And that was the final quote. I have so many more. But he was. This one blew me away, and this one makes me think I'm going to sell my tv. It was Ed that was talking, and he pointed out that when we're sitting there watching a movie or watching reality TV or watching whatever game, like a football game or a hockey game, our life is watching other people live their dream because that actress or actor is living their dream. That pro athlete is living their dream. Even the people on the reality tv, they have a reality TV show because they're living their dream, but we're not living ours. We're just passively sitting there in the cheap seats watching someone else live theirs. I don't know about you, but I don't have time to waste watching someone else live their dream. I have. I get way more joy out of living my own. Like right now, shooting this video for you, even on a Sunday, because I'm living my dream. And that beats watching Someone else live theirs. I so recommend. If you are into personal growth, if you want to achieve more, if you're tired of settling for what you got, then I highly suggest you watch this video. If you're not, you're not. And that's okay. But guess what? If you're bipoc, black, indigenous people of color, if you are suffering from internalized oppression, you've got to get into this stuff and quit settling for the label that someone else gave you. You are so much more than this country told you you are. If you're indigenous in this country, I hope you just heard me. You are so much more than this country told you you are. And you do not need to prove it with mainstream standards, but you got to prove it by living up to who creator made you to be. Stop reacting. Start living. Stop settling for being your lowest common denominator, and show creator in the world what you can do. Because I know you're here on purpose. I am so excited. I just had to shoot that today because I just finished watching it and mind blown. It's actually going to be implemented into one of my seminars, because as I improve, so do my offerings, so my participants can improve as well. It is just the way my world works. Until tomorrow. I love you. Take care. Bye. Bye. I promised in the opening I was gonna review the latest draw. Is this thing not amazing? Now, I should have called this up before I turned on the video, but I want to see. I have. It's not going to be a messenger, is it? No, it's going to be in Facebook. That's where it's going to be. My son, who made this amazing, amazing, amazing thing, sent me the measurements, and I do want to give those to you because people are always interested. What the heck happened? Oh, I know what happened. I know what happened. I went into Facebook, and I was on my business page, and that's not going to work. I need to be in my personal page so I can get the information. Okay, here we are. Okay. Level Up Presents is my son's Facebook page. That's also his website that's under construction. Now I just got to wait for a Facebook messenger to load so I can scroll back. And. It is four by six inches. So four inches. That's not right. Oh, that's six inches. Duh. That's the six inches side. Four inches side. And it's three inches wide. And how do you do this? Look at this. Look at this. Oh, my God, it smells amazing. As always, it's made from reclaimed wood, so it's got all of the little nuances I just love. And it just slides in. So if I line it up properly, it's like it slides in so easily. I love it. I mean, this is a perfect gift. This is a perfect little keepsake. There's so many things you can have in here. And by the way, I gotta show this. He probably doesn't want me to, but whatever. There's another one for sale. My God. He treats these with linseed oil. My God, they smell amazing. So this one's going up for sale on his Facebook page. $50 plus shipping. TA da. To get your own. So if you want it as a gift and you don't want to take the chance of the. The draw. There you go. This one is in the draw. They're both. Well, they're both the same design, obviously, again, because of reclaimed wood. Every single one of them is unique and one of a kind. I love this. $10 a ticket. 3 for 20. Send them to the address below, which is my son. I love this one. You're gonna love this one. Get your tickets today.
