Step 6 - How Much Wisdom Do YOU Have?

Sandi L Boucher guides you through a hands-on exercise: for each major life challenge you've survived, marriage, childbirth, illness, divorce, you draw a star on paper. The exercise turns your hardest moments into visible proof of the wisdom and strength you've built.
Hello, you absolutely amazing person.
You know what's happening today? We are on week two of a day that changed everything. In fact, while you're watching this, I am off enjoying my first ever southern vacation. My butt is probably on a beach. But I wasn't gonna let you down. I wanted to offer quality content while I was gone. So we're going to continue with the 15 videos from my video course a day that change everything. If you're suffering from low self esteem, if you don't yet realize how amazing you are, or if you know someone who is, please share these videos with them or get them to subscribe to my channel, whichever works. Now, today. Oh, by the way, if you're new here, hi, how are you doing? If you enjoyed today's video, go back and check out the other five that I released last week. If you were to go on my website and purchase this video, course, you're paying like 150 bucks. I'm releasing it for free because you deserve it. Okay, today. Now, you know I love my puzzle pieces. We talked about puzzle pieces in a previous video last week and we even talked about the puzzle pieces we don't choose. Then I talked about how absolutely awesome you are. But what if I can show you just how much wisdom and value you bring to the table? That's what we're talking about in step six, today's video. So let's talk about it.
Hello, you absolutely amazing human being, you. Hi, it's Sandy Boucher here. Misko Pogna Kwei Nadishnikas Mang Dodem Red Thunderbolt woman of the Loon clan and a proud member of Seine river first nation in Northern Ontario. And I am so thrilled that you decided to go on this journey with me. I know it is going to be worth your time and it's going to have you looking at yourself in a kinder, more beautiful, more amazing way as you realize just how freaking fantastic you are. Okay, so today we're going to jump right into this. I have so much to share with you. Remember this puzzle pieces? Well, I told you it was one of my favorite metaphors and it definitely was for my mom. So we're going to be talking about puzzle pieces again today. And in fact, I'm going to help you figure out which pieces are in your puzzle. But first and foremost, once again, holy flippin moleys. We got to take a second to acknowledge you are on the sixth video. That's how much time, effort, love, commitment you have shown to you in your journey. I'm sorry, I am still betting you are going to land in an absolutely amazing place as long as you keep honoring yourself the way you have been by watching these videos. I personally, if we haven't met, I'm hoping that our paths cross as soon as this pandemic thing is over because I would love to hug the stuffing out of you now. Again, let's do a quick review. We started with the four thank yous. Thank you to greater God, higher power. Thank you to our Internet provider and the people that built our phones and computers. Thank you to all of those that came before and helped us get to this age and stage we looked at. Oh, thank you to you for putting in this time and effort. We looked at puzzle pieces the first time out, the ones we choose and the ones we don't choose. And last time on the video, I taught you how absolutely freaking awesome you are. And I hope that you've been trying that on people. You know, back in the day, back at the good old days when we used to go to the grocery store on a regular basis, I used to love it when the cashier would ask me, how are you? And it's just automatic for me now I am going down in history as the woman that taught everyone they're awesome. So automatically she'd ask me, how are you? And my answer is awesome. And every single time they would stop and like, oh, oh, well, I guess I'm doing pretty good too. It's amazing how everyone wants to raise their bar. Once you do try it. I highly, highly recommend it. So by the way, just on that note, how are you? I hope you just screamed awesome at the computer or at your phone or at your tablet or however your watching this. And if you didn't back it up again and try again because you are absolutely awesome. Wasn't that fun? I told you, you just got to do it. You know what? Who cares? Now probably there's a good chance no one else is around, so you're screaming at your phone and telling yourself you're awesome. Your spirit deserves that. Enjoy it. So today, remember last time I got you to get a piece of paper and we wrote the word awesome down. Well, you're going to need another piece of paper this time. And we're not talking about the word awes. What we're going to end up, the piece of paper is going to represent the night sky. And during the course of this exercise, you're going to end up with something like this. So you can see I've drawn some stars on it. And you can also see I may be an author, but I'm definitely not an artist. What's going to happen is I'm going to share a list with you, a list of very common human experiences. And for every single one that you've experienced, I want you to draw a star on your piece of paper. So they gotta be all over. Don't put them in a nice little row because that would be the strangest night sky ever. Whatever size you want to make it. I mean, maybe if you've really experienced it, you're gonna make a big star or make whatever kind of star you want. There is no way to do this wrong. But we are gonna run through the list. So if you need to take a second and pause to go get a pen and a piece of paper, just go right ahead and do that. I'll be right here when you're ready. Okay, so now you have your paper and pen. And it should be blank at this point because I haven't run through the list yet. And remember, if you've experienced it, you're going to draw a star on your piece of paper. Whatever kind of star you want. It doesn't need to look like the kind I had. You can trace out a star if you want to. You can make it look absolutely gorgeous. You could have different colored pencil crayons and make them all different colors. Whatever rocks your boat. That's what you should be doing. So I'm going to run through the list. I have them written behind my computer screen here. So I do them in order. If you've experienced it, draw the star. If you haven't, don't worry. We're just going to go on to the next one. So are you ready? You got your pen? You got your fancy pencil crayons? Got your paper? Good, let's do this. Now, remember, these are common experiences, so don't be surprised if you end up with a night sky filled with stars. Okay, here's the first one. If you've ever been married, draw a star on your piece of paper. Now for this, I am not talking about. And some of these, we're gonna get really specific here. I am not talking about living with someone. I am not talking about common law. I am talking about the stress of your wedding day, the dress, the guests, the meal. If you have survived that, then please put a star on your page and know if you've survived it seven times. You don't get to do seven stars, just one for that experience. If you've done it seven times, maybe make it a really big star. I don't know, but that's your choice. Again, if you've ever been married, give yourself a star. Okay, so the next one. This is easier for the women. So there's a disclaimer here for the women. If you've ever had a child, and I mean physically gave birth to a child, we acknowledge our foster moms and our adopted moms and we would be lost within them. But this is talking about that physical experience of giving birth. If you have given birth, give yourself a star. For the guys that may be watching this video, if you were right there next to your partner as she gave birth and you went through that experience with her to the extent that you could, then feel free to give yourself a star. So if you've ever had a child, give yourself a star. The next one. Now this one. The wording is super, super important. If ever at some point in your journey you felt like you had to move, and that's the phrase, that's important, you had to. You had to move away because it was a new job, you had to go to school, you had to leave a relationship, you had to move. You know, if you felt that way, it's not up to me to judge. If you felt at some in time you had to move, give yourself a star. Next one. This one. I'm going to assume most people watching have done this one, but it's a fun experience and I'm being so sarcastic right now. If you've ever had the lovely experience of a job interview, give yourself a star. Okay, next one. If you can think back and remember your first day of school, at whatever level, it doesn't have to be the first day of kindergarten. Maybe it was that first day of high school that was totally intimidating. That first day of college or university, that was incredibly scary. You can remember how it felt on that first day. That fear, that anxiety. Give yourself a star. This one's always fun. I love doing this in Live seminar. The reality is I showed you my puzzle pieces here. If we were doing this live, you would get a puzzle piece for every experience. And I get them to put up their hand if they've experienced it so I can pass around the puzzle pieces to the correct people. Well, this one's always fun because they're going to put up their hand if they've ever failed a test. I don't care if it was your driver's test or math class, whatever it was, if you failed a test, draw a star on your piece of paper. Next. Remember when I was talking about that first Day of school. Well, same kind of deal. If you can remember the stress and the anxiety and how nervous you were on the first day of a new job, give yourself a star. It doesn't matter how long ago it was or if that job just started last week. If you can remember that stress of that first day, give yourself a star. Now, if you have ever passed or graduated from something, whatever it is, give yourself a star. Next. This is one of those. I don't like seeing the hands go up for this one. But if you've ever gone through the lovely and trying experience of a divorce, give yourself a star. And again, we're talking about the legal nightmare. Breaking up with someone is incredibly hard. But this is that legal nightmare. The court hearings, the whole nine yards. A divorce process. And even if your divorce was an easy one, if you went through that process, give yourself a star. Okay, next one. This is another one of those. Come on, guys, admit it. Put your hand up if you've ever been fired from a job. I'd be putting up my hand for that, or I'd be writing, drawing a star on my piece of paper. Go ahead, draw the star. If you've ever been fired from a job. Next. Now, there's taken the test, and then there's writing an exam. Test, exam. When it comes to stress level, if you've ever written an exam, doesn't matter how it turned out, whether you did good or not, if you've gone through that experience, give yourself a star. Draw that star into your night sky. This is another one that I definitely don't like seeing the hands, but it's part of life. If you've ever gone through the heartbreaking challenge, if you've ever lost a loved one, give yourself a star. Now, the next one again, is incredibly specific. If you have ever been in the very challenging position where you've been the one to end a relationship, give yourself a star. Now, that could be a friendship. It could be an intimate relationship, whatever the case may be. If you have had to make the decision and went on to end a relationship, give yourself a star. Now, this next one again, I don't want to see the hands, but it happens more often than we think. If you personally have ever been seriously ill, like, you didn't know if you were gonna make it through this, that kind of serious ill, not just I feel that lousy, you seriously thought this might be the end of your journey, then give yourself a star. Closely related to that. If you've ever had a loved one who was that seriously ill, Please give yourself a star. Even if, thankfully, they've recovered at the end. If for a time you were wondering if they would give yourself that star. Now, I'm hoping everyone watching this knows what a phobia is. If not, put it on pause and go search it. Basically, fear phobia, right? You might be afraid of something, you don't like it. But a phobia is like, holy moly's anxiety. Can't breathe. Like, way up there. If you have ever attempted to overcome a phobia, whether you were successful or not, doesn't matter if you attempted it, give yourself a star. And last but not least, I believe this is the last one. Yes. If you have ever. Now, here's the phrase. Suffered a severe shock of whatever kind. That is up to you to decide. If you think it was a severe shock, then you put a star in your sky. So that's it for the list. Now I want you to take a second and look at your night sky and look at those stars. And honestly, I would love it if you took a picture and sent it to me. Hit reply on this email that sent you this video and just sent it back to me. I would love to absolutely see it. And if you do that, I'll have a surprise for you. I'll have a gift for you. Now, what is so important about this list? Why these questions? Truth be told, not only are these the most common, stressful situations that a human being can go through, but these are often the excuses people use as to why they're not successful. I would have been successful, but my relationship ended. I would have been successful, but I had to move away. I would have been successful, but I failed the entrance exam. The reality is, every single one of these are not reasons that you're going to fail. They're reasons you're going to succeed. Because every single one of those is a challenge that you have overcame. You're here. You survived it. No matter how trying it was, you're here. You're on the other side of that mountain. Rather, you can think of it as stars in your night sky or metals you should be wearing on your chest. But either way, these are challenges. You should be celebrating how much you survived. If you're gonna start realizing how strong you are, don't just count the challenges. Count the fact that you made it through those challenges. That no matter how hard they were, they didn't do you in. Even if they knocked you to your knees for a while, you got back up. I know. I was just saying today when you get knocked down so many times, you start to realize you're pretty good at getting back up. And you get back up faster each time. This is how we build wisdom, through experience. And just like the guy going to the gym, you push those weights and you build the muscles. You stop pushing the weights, you'll lose the muscles. The reality is, so many of us are starting to think that life's supposed to be easy. Who said that? I know. That's not what my dad told me. If we stop expecting it to be and start preparing ourselves to handle the challenges of life, then they don't take us out at the knees anymore. And that's the whole purpose behind this course. Now, what I want you to do, we didn't just waste a piece of paper. I want you to take your night sky and I want you to put it somewhere where you're going to see it all the time. Like next to your bathroom mirror or on your nightstand, whatever the case may be. And if you're in between places, fold it up and put it in your wallet. So when you open your wallet, you see it and you remember just how incredibly strong you are. And don't forget to send the picture to me, because I absolutely want to see that. Now. Wasn't that awesome? I think so. I know when I do it in real life in seminar that people are absolutely blown away. And by the way, I'd be willing to bet that there's challenges you've been through that weren't on that list. And maybe you need to add some stars to your sky. And please do that and then take the picture and send it to me. So that brings us to the end of today's lesson. I got a question for you, though. How are you? I hope you just screamed awesome. And again. If you didn't, go back and try it again and do it again and do it again. And if your kids ask you what you're doing, get them to scream that they're awesome, too, because they are. Until mine. Until next time, my friend. Just remember, I believe in you. And I hope that you are starting to, too. I love you. Bye. Bye. Talk to you soon.
