Sandi L Boucher explains why you shouldn't let other people's opinions define your worth. Compliments reveal traits you already have. When affirming people leave, your value doesn't go with them. Surround yourself with people who remind you of what you're worth, and affirm yourself daily.

Foreign. Hi, everybody, it's Sandy Boucher once again. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River First Nation in Northern Ontario. And I'm here with this week's Personal Power message. Now, we're still in February, so that means we're still looking at the second of the 12 principles of personal Power. This month's message is simple and it says another's opinion, past or present, is just that it does not in any way diminish your value. So I'm going to reinforce that yet again. I want you to think back over your life and I'd be willing to bet you can think of someone, or hopefully lots of someones, who made you feel absolutely awesome about yourself. Maybe they commented on your skills or how intelligent you are, how handsome, how beautiful, how funny, how intelligent, whatever the case may may be. But their words made you feel amazing. Now here's where we make the mistake. Many of us think we feel amazing because of the words they said. That's not it at all. Because remember, they noticed something we already had. We already had our looks, our intelligence, our sense of humor, our skill set. They simply noticed. Now, what happens, unfortunately, if that person ends up leaving your life after a time, we feel lost, like we have lost that skill. Our looks, our talents, our abilities. And that couldn't be further from the truth, because we had them before they even showed up. That's what they noticed. Is that making sense now? So you're not beautiful because the man or woman in your life thinks so. You're not intelligent because your boss thinks so. You're not talented because other people think so. You're beautiful because you're beautiful. You're talented because you're talented. You're funny because you're funny. And we should have a life filled with. With people who notice that not just one rare person. And that's where you come in. That's your job, to fill your life and your inner circle with people who appreciate all that you are, so they can remind you of your skills and your talent and your intelligence on the days that you forget. So remember another's opinion. Power, past or present, is just that. It does not in any way diminish your value. You were phenomenal, which is what attracted them in the first place. And you're still phenomenal if they end up walking another way. The talent, the beauty, the humor was in you, not in their words, not in their opinion. Tada. It's pretty easy when you think about it. My elders always say you know what wisdom is? Simplistic. We make things complicated. So there you go, you amazingly talented, beautiful, funny person. You don't look in the mirror and appreciate yourself. Just shower yourself in appreciation and then text or call someone else who feels exactly the same way. Because you deserve to remember how amazing you are every single day. Until next week. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. Bye.
