This is a short YouTube video by Sandi L Boucher (speaking as Andy/Red Thunderbolt) in which the speaker uses the metaphor of her kitchen table to describe a warm, personal communication style. She introduces herself (including clan and First Nation: Loon clan, Seine River First Nation, Treaty 3 territory, Northern Ontario), explains that her intent is to share honestly and helpfully rather than to impress, invites viewers to comment or email (noting she answers all emails), and closes with a personal valediction.

Welcome, my friend. Come on in. We got to talk about my kitchen table. Hi, everybody. My name is Andy Boucher. Mishko Pagan on Queen Addition across. I'm Red Thunderbolt, woman of the Loon clan, a proud member of Seine River first nation in Treaty 3 territory in Northern Ontario. And in case you didn't realize, and come to think of it, you probably didn't realize, you and I are sitting at my kitchen table right now. Okay, literally, we're not. But in my mind, we are. And if you have any Indigenous friends or you are indigenous, you're probably going to have a smile on your face just thinking about that. Because in our culture, the kitchen table is where Kokum was our grandma or our mom. It was where we sat down over tea and talked about things. It was where we enjoyed the people we love, our relationships. It was comforting and soothing and welcoming. May not be fancy, may not have one of those old tablecloths on it. Mom always did. But it's a safe space to share how you're really feeling, to share what you're thinking about, things to share your plans, maybe even your crazy dreams. When I write a blog post or shoot a video or even when I'm standing on stage, I always like to imagine that I'm welcoming people to my kitchen table in the same way that mom would have welcomed people to hers. It's a place where I share from the heart. I don't share to impress. I don't share for accolades or applause. I share to make a difference. I often say I talk to hearts, not heads. I want you to feel that I'm being genuine and honest with you. I'm not trying to impress you with $15 words. I'm not trying to show off my education or experience. I'm here to build the bridge. I care what you do. I care about your future. And if I can give you tools and information and advice that is going to help you, then that's my job to do that. But I don't want to do that in some clinical, cold place. I'd rather just sit at my kitchen table and share with you. Now, I'm hoping. I don't know who's watching this video. I don't know if you've ever been to one of my seminars or heard one of my keynote speeches. I don't know if we've ever met, but I'm hoping, really hoping, that by watching these videos, it feels like I'm talking to you. I hope you felt like you were sitting at my kitchen table even though you may not have ever described it that way, because that is definitely how I feel about you. So if you have any questions, if you're confused about something, either comment below. Or if you'd rather be way more private, send me an email. I answer all of my emails. Why? Because you're sitting at my kitchen table and it would be rude not to answer you. Now you know my secret. Now, the next time you watch a video, think about that. We're spending quality time together because you matter to me. Until tomorrow. I love you. Take care. Bye. Bye.
