Short coaching video (by Sarah Sullivan) advising business owners to stop doing everything themselves by clarifying a vivid target/vision, building a competent team, and empowering that team with transparency and metrics. Key points: define the vision specifically, hire competent people, trust them to run metrics, share numbers so team members see how their work moves the business toward big goals, avoid micromanagement, and build a functioning team to make the business more sellable.

Target. I like business owners to get super clear on their own vision. When we look at our target, we want to know exactly what you're working toward. You want to be able to define it specifically. You want to be able to write about it like it's a great novel where it takes your imagination into that place. Team. So you got to build a team to be unshackled. You have to have a team. The more people you can help, the more money you're going to make. You don't have to know everything to be wildly successful. If you want to get there faster, and you don't want to have to be the smartest person in the room all the time, you've got to be willing to surround yourself with competent people and listen to them and let them run metrics. You got to know your numbers. Your team wants to know what's going on. They want to know how their contribution is moving the ball towards the big goals. They want to see that, that management's listening to the team, and they especially want to be empowered. You're going to do much better at building a business that's sellable when you build a team that gets to function. Being micromanaged.
