Blessings, Grace Space fam! I'm excited to be here in this Grace Space. I'm Sharnita Gates, and I'm excited to be here on today as we do our daily reflection, our daily devotion, and our daily strategy and approach. And here in the Grace Space, we are being fruitful and multiplying, multiplying the word of God in our life. His grace Is sufficient for us to boast in our weaknesses so that we can grow and exercise ourselves into godliness. We have to do the work, and that's what we do here in the Grace Space. We— it is our developmental grace where we go at a sacred pace in writing the word on our hearts, and we have our canvases. So So get your Bibles, get your colors, and get your canvas, and let's dive into today. Our word for today is coming from Luke 4:18. Luke 4:18 says, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me to proclaim, proclaim liberty to the captives. And so as we go in through our Grace Space, we continued from the beginning of Luke 4:18 where it says, he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted. And we talked about how God sent Jesus to connect us back to him by healing our brokenheartedness with knowledge and understanding of him, his life, the way and the truth. And today we're going to expound on it. We're When he says, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me to proclaim liberty to the captives. So let's break it down. So the Spirit, God, God sent Jesus. So the Lord, he was the Lord over Jesus. He's the Lord over us because Jesus is our Lord. And so therefore the Holy Spirit was descended onto Jesus for us to receive the knowledge and understanding and the wisdom of God. So he came as a connector to heal us. So there is an area where it says to proclaim liberty to the captives. And when we think about being captive, what does that mean? Like in chains, like the, the chains of Satan, in a dark place. You know, the way we know walking down the way of the wicked, not having knowledge or understanding of the light. And Jesus is the light of the world. And so for us to receive his Holy Spirit and become the light of the world as well, because he abide in us, we have to abide in him. And therefore, when he says to proclaim liberty, to free them from the chains from the darkness to receive him. There's things that hold individuals captive in their mind and that blocks them from able— being able to actually receive the knowledge and understanding of the way, the truth, and to live the life like Jesus lived. We get to live the life like Jesus lived because God has given us the image and likeness of him to grow in the spirit, to live holy, to be perfected, to exercise ourselves into godliness, and going through the persecution, but also knowing that we have to be built into the character and the likeness of Christ by receiving him and being able to bear the fruit of joy and love and gentleness and kindness and patience and peace and faithfulness and self-control. We have to build that in our lives. And because we believe and we rely on love, because God is love, so we rely on God. But we have to receive Jesus so that we can be connected to the wisdom that— and ask God for the wisdom so we can grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Holy One, which is Jesus. And so when he says on today where the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, that means that God is, God is providing a way for us to receive liberty, freedom, and come out of the places that we are captive, captive by Satan. And that's literally the chains of lies, living in lies, and, um, and not being able to receive the truth. And that's why it's like the truth will set you free from those things that keep you bound in your, in your mind, the lies. And there's like, you feel like there's no evidence when Jesus like, you have me. I, I am, I am proof that you can break the chains of Satan and walk in the way of the way everlasting to the Everlasting Father and walk In that way. And, uh, and though that where you're brokenhearted, you can— he, he heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds so that you can receive the, the Son of Man. You can receive Jesus into your heart and know that God is with you. He's Emmanuel. And that's where you receive the power, the love, and a sound mind where you're able to think on the things that are true, you know, the things that are above, not beneath. And know that you're— he, he keeps those in perfect peace who steadfast and trust in the Lord. So you're, you're starting to receive the truth and knowing that as I trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding And knowing that the understanding that I need is the understanding and knowledge of the Holy One, to break free from those— the lies and the, the ways of Satan— and say, you know, get thee behind me, Satan, for you are offense to the things of God. And knowing that you want— you are doing the will of God because now you're going through a process of transformation which allows for you to renew Your mind. When your mind is renewed, then you can test and approve what God's good, pleasing, and perfect will is. What do God want for your life? And God wants you to receive his Son, to receive the truth, and receive the way. And that's what we're talking about on today. And today is— let's talk about those dark prisons and how the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. To proclaim liberty to the captives, and so therefore, if you are you know in a dark place where you feel like you just don't understand you know why you are the way that you think, the way that you speak, why things happen in your life, like you don't have an understanding, and you're you're you're trusting, and you're you're you're leaning like I feel like I understand this. But when you are able to be free, you give that up and you'll receive the truth. And that's what I hear in this gray space as we redo our reflection, reflecting on the places that we are in our minds. You know, identify those dark places, those places that haven't yet been developed to receive Christ into your heart. And when you, when you pray the prayer, search me, O Lord, And see if there's any grievous ways in me. And he does. He shows you what's in your heart. Surrender it. Surrender it. And we talked about contrition on, on yesterday as well. You know, feel remorseful. You know, repent, turn, and say, Lord, if this is in me, let me receive the truth and the way. Let me receive your Son. And literally, he will Take that heart of stone, because that's what it is. It's like, I'm trying not to go into Mark, um, but there's a story in Mark where you sometimes you're just cutting yourself with stones. And those stones, those things that strong— those strongholds in your mind, those dark places where it's like you keep renumerating or keep thinking on those things. But you have to be set free from those, those stones. He said, I will take that heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And when you get that heart of flesh, the heart of flesh becomes where you do not give into that sinful nature. Now your, your flesh is in submission to your soul because your soul is being led by the Spirit. And that's why I said the Spirit Has sent, you know, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me to proclaim liberty to the captive. It's the spirit that's leading the soul— your mind, your will, your emotions, your imaginations, and your affections— that will help you to command your flesh to be in obedience to what God has, has given us, and that's the life. That's Jesus. He has given us his Son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish. We do— we perish for a lack of knowledge, so we will not perish. He gave us Jesus so we will not perish for a lack of knowledge but have everlasting life, eternal life. He is eternal. So when you're able to think on the word, the word is eternal. He said heaven and earth will pass away, but my word is Eternal. So let's continue to fix our eyes on the things that are not seen, because the things that are not seen are eternal. So the things that you can't see, like those dark— picture, you know, fix your eyes on that, not on what is seen. We know that we, we have— we will have trouble, we will have hard times, but when we fix our eyes on the things that are seen, it's temporary. So we can let things go and receive the eternal by fixing our eyes on the things that are unseen. And so that is the word on today. We're going to devote ourselves to really break up that foul ground. Identify if there's some areas that you are in a dark place. Really open that up and surrender it to Jesus and follow Christ. Follow Jesus because the Spirit is upon him. So if you want freedom from that area, you have to follow the way. You have to follow the truth. You have to accept it into your heart. And that's the strategy and approach. You know, praying and asking him to come into your heart. Live here, live in me, and as I'm going to— and be committed to living in the word, opening up your Bible. So if today you are joining our Grace Space, I pray that you open up your Bibles and turn to Luke 4:18 and be set free from any dark prisons or any dark places and receive The light. And our, our eyes is the lamp to the whole body. So when you set your eyes on the light, it brings healing and health to your body. So I thank you guys for joining, um, the Grace Space on today. Remember, be fruitful and multiply, and multiply the word of God in your life. Be blessed.
