Replay : I'm In My Fillings

In this solo devotional, Sharnita Gates explores how God "fills us up daily" through a verse‑by‑verse meditation on Psalm 23 (The Message translation). She frames each verse as a distinct way God provides for believers—acceptance, affirmation, affection, appreciation, encouragement, respect, security, support, attention, and comfort. Throughout the teaching she invites listeners to speak the Scripture aloud, internalize its promises, and reflect on personal moments of divine provision. The sermon moves from the shepherd’s promise of lacking nothing (verse 1) to lush meadows and quiet pools (verse 2), to God’s truth, breath, and direction (verse 3), to security in the “death valley” with the shepherd’s rod (verse 4), to a six‑course banquet and blessings amid enemies (verse 5), and finally to God’s beauty and love that chase the believer home (verse 6). Sharnita repeatedly urges active affirmation, encourages listeners to become doers of the Word, and promotes her upcoming masterclasses (Affirm & Devote), the Spiritual Enlightenment Awakening Academy, and Innovation of Coaching and Speaking programs. The tone is conversational, enthusiastic, and pastoral, aiming to uplift, motivate, and equip the audience to experience daily spiritual filling.

Welcome to Sharnita Gates TV. Do I have a special, a very special message on today, y'all. Blessings and welcome, but I'm in my Feelings. We're going to be talking about I'm in my feelings. We're going to be full after. I'm telling you guys, we're going to be full after this. We're going to pour out. We're going to pour out. So today I want to talk about something. that is deeply important to all of us, and it's how God fills us up daily. Daily. God fills us up daily. So we're going to delve into some incredible ways God fills us up daily by drawing some inspiration from one of the scriptures that is primarily known. But I want to talk about how that scripture going to go into it, how it fills us up daily. And that scripture is Psalms 23. So let's understand a little bit more about Psalms 23. So we're going to start looking at one of the most beloved passages, um, and it's God's provision and his care for us in every aspect of our lives. And as is expressed, we're going to be reading from The Message version. of the Bible, um, that translation is going to unravel the layer of God's provision for our lives. As my pastor says, provision— God, pro, before, vision, video— how he sees it, how God sees it before we see it. So God sees it before we see it, so see it. So that's God's provision. So God's seen how would need to be filled with Psalms 23. And we're going to highlight some of those key points in Psalms 23. So let's, let's go into it. I'm going to read verse 1. Um, and verse 1 says, God my shepherd, I don't need a thing. Ah, I love reading it. Let's read that again. As as I read, I encourage you to read it with me as well. So in the in the comfort of your own home, let's fill ourselves up by opening up our mouths and speaking the word of God into us. Because when you speak it, you hear it. When you speak it, you hear it. So God. My shepherd, I don't need a thing. I don't need a thing. Here we find acceptance in God's provision. Acceptance. God accepted us before we even came here today to read the scripture, to say we need to be fulfilled with the word. God knew it. So he has that. He accepted us. That's number one. He accepted us. He assures us that we lack nothing when we are in his care. He's our shepherd. We say, God my shepherd. A shepherd shepherds his sheep. We are— he, he is ours. We are his. He's our shepherd. So when you think about a shepherd, he's a provider. He's more than a provider. He, he's, he's a healer. Whatever we need, God, my shepherd, I don't need a thing. We lack nothing when we're in his care. So let's think about some moments when we felt like we've been lacking. Um, there— it's okay, it's okay to feel like sometimes I'm lacking in an area because God knows that we will need to be fulfilled. So he gives us his word, he gives us his word, and he accepts us even when we are in that place of feeling lack. And how God's acceptance of, of us— like, he accepts you, he accepts me, he accepts everyone— how that fills that void, that void of feeling not accepted. So that can make us feel like you know, we're lacking acceptance. But God, our God, our Shepherd, we lack nothing. So even when we feel like there is a void, we really lack nothing. So think about the moments when you felt fully accepted by God. Let's think about how we feel accepted by God. God provided us with the ability to have his life in us where we can speak. Wow, wow, God accepted us to be able to speak life and even to speak his word and say, God, I lack nothing with you. I lack nothing. Let's— so maybe you have a time where you can think about a moment where you fully felt accepted by God. Think on those things. We, we in, in this space, I encourage you to think on whatever is true, whatever is lovely, whatever is reputable, whatever is praiseworthy, because I'm gonna give him praise. He said praise, shout with a voice of triumph. Lord, thank you. Thank you that you accepted me. Thank you. Even in times of doubt and struggle, like there's times when we We will doubt, we will struggle, but I'm thankful that he accepted us, that we, we can persevere, that we can get the choice to accept him as he accepted us, to be able to persevere and build up a character that we really, we really need to fill that void of lack. So there are some areas where we may feel areas of lack because we're, we're wanting to be accepted. But God, he wants to accept you. God wants to accept you. God accepts you just as you are, through your doubt, through your struggles, because he, he knows the plans that he has for you. Those plans are not to harm you but to give you hope and for a future. So take that and, and, and believe and accept it. Like, God accepts me Even in my times of struggle. So that, that is, that is a word right there. I'm just really thinking about how, how, how powerful just starting off with Psalms 23. We, we hear in the version, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. I lack nothing. I want nothing. I lack nothing. God, if there's any place where I feel lack, please fill it. Fill it, Lord. I know that you accept me. Even in my, my times of uncertainty, even in my times of, um, when I sin, when I go against the word that you've already said, you still accept me. You still fill me up with your word. You still give me your instruction. You don't leave me. You will never leave me nor forsake me. And that's, that's the goodness of God. And so, um, that's a part of our feelings. So we're now— I'm— I don't know about you guys, I am In my feelings. I'm in my feelings. I'm feeling so accepted by God right now. God, thank you for accepting me to be able to think on your word in this moment. So let's go ahead and go to, um, verse number 2. Let's go to verse number 2. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, and you find me quiet pools to drink from. You have bedded me down in lush meadows. Where, where can I lie? Even when I feel lack, where can I lie? You've bedded me down in lush meadows. You find me quiet pools to drink from. So even when I'm, I'm not— when I'm, I'm not filled, you, you know where I need to go, where I need to be, who I need to— where Anything that I need, you've already provided. So God's provision extends our physical and emotional well-being. So physically, we're bedded down in lush meadows. Our emotional well-being, quiet pools to drink from. Like, he knows, like, emotionally, sometimes to deal with our emotions, we need, we need quiet to really hear his voice. To really seek his word and his kingdom and his and the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God, the things that he's spoken so we can clearly hear. So his provision extends, you know, our our our physical. So even in our physical things, we may be we're facing temptation, we're facing our habits, we're facing time. And that physically, sometimes that can come where it comes against us. So it allows us to say, God, you even have the ability to affirm that I need this place. I need this quiet place to go to. So that's providing affirmation and affection by surrounding us with peaceful environments and refreshment. Just think of— I just, I encourage you now to just think of the wind just blowing and the trees are just swaying left to right, and you feel like, God, thank you. You've given me a place where my mind can rest. My mind can think on you. My mind— that peace that surpasses all understanding that keeps my, my mind and my heart in Christ Jesus. Like, thank you. I can think about Savior. Thank you that even when I'm— I feel like I'm not saved, I can think on Jesus and remember that, that helmet of salvation, that I'm protected, I'm protected, I'm protected, I'm protected. So as we reflect on these, the word of God, it allows us to see exactly where God is filling us up. So we just got filled with affection, we just got filled with affirmation. We, you know, so there's a lot of different cups that God is filling for us. Now let's go into verse three. True to your word, true to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. That's that. I think that's three things that. God is so such a provider, and that he provides guidance and just appreciation for us. Like we can say, God, you're true to your word. You're true to your word. You let me catch my breath, and you send me in right direction. Wow! Wow! So even when I'm I'm feeling like I feel like I don't have anything, I may be drained with energy. or effort, or feel like I don't have enough time to do this. But no, God said, first, I'm gonna be true to my word. He's always true to his word. He's not a man, so he cannot lie. So he's true to his word. The truth is Jesus. So we have the truth. So therefore, we're really back to what we said in verse 1. We lack nothing. Then you let me catch my breath. Like I could be pouring it out like God, I just you. But because we cast everything on you, so we don't want to carry that in our heart. So we have to release it. But when we release it, God allows us to catch our breath and just say thank you. Thank you, God. How great you are! We we worship you. We thank you for your spirit, that I have a revelation of your spirit. I can, I can receive your love. I can receive your joy. I can receive your self-control. I can receive your patience because you are, you are patient. You are forgiving. You are good. You are abounding in love to all who call out to you. So you let me catch my breath and think on those things that are so, so, so uplifting in my, in my mind, my entire soul. My soul just radiates when my mind is thinking up— is like, my mind is like the mind of Christ. And then my imagination is purified. My will is not mine, it's yours, God. It's, you know, my affections are towards the right things and my emotions are allowing me to be emotionally objective to where I can eject those and actually listen and be obedient to what you are speaking. So thank you, God, for letting me catch my breath, um, and letting others as well catch their breath in this space as we go through your word. And then you also send us in the right direction, that direction, that straight and narrow path. You said look forward, not to the left or to the right, um, but Keep going down that path of righteousness for your name's sake. That is the path of righteousness. Christ, stay focused on Jesus as he is the leader of our lives, the Lord of our lives. I love you, Jesus. Um, I just had to put that because that's, you know, what I feel. Um, but yes, stay on that path of righteousness. So he offers encouragement and direction So now I'm uplifted, I have direction. And so just, that's an example of how Psalms 23:3 really helps me to stay on the course of righteousness. And when I'm feeling like I'm going down the wrong direction, I was like, no, I will send you in the right direction. I will let you catch your breath. I will be true to my word. You just have to speak it so you can hear what I'm saying. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and you send me in the right direction. So I really encourage you guys as we go through it, I pray that you guys are speaking it and yelling like, yes, God, you're true to your word. You let me catch my breath. Like Yes, I want you guys to receive that life. Receive that life. Receive that life. Let's go into verse 4. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I'm not afraid when you walk by my side. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. There's so much in that— in just in that verse. Verse 4, even when the way goes through Death Valley. So even when I'm, I'm at my lowest of lows, even when I don't know what's coming, I'm still looking forward. I know that, um, I might— I'm, I'm going to be facing trouble, I'm going to be facing, um, issues, doubts, problems, whatever, whatever comes my way. I just think about the path in Matthew 13, you know, the stony, you know, path, uh, the rocky path, or just where the birds just come and just eat all everything up as you're just going. But even when the way goes through that Death Valley, I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid when you walk by my side. You walk, you walk at my side, God. You are always there. You are all— you said you would never leave me nor forsake me. So So you're always there. It's just for me to remember your word in Psalm 23. We have to remember the word in Psalm 23, verse 4, where God says, I will never— I will, you know, I walk by— I walk with you at your— and I'm, I'm at your side. God is always there. God is always there. That's, that's what we want to remember. God is always there. Even when we're, we're afraid, we say, I'm not going— I'm not afraid. Amen. Because God is with me. What can mere men or mortals do to me? God is near. He's near to the brokenhearted, um, and he binds up their wounds. So you start to— the, the words, you put the word in your heart. So continue to just speak this word and let it go down to your heart. And that's why it's like your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. Your rod, you like— think about it. I— this might be a whole nother, uh, series because I, I've been doing a lot of studying into, you know, the rod. You know, God always talked about the rod and the staff and how even in the time of Moses it was used to part the sea. It turned, you know, So we hear, as we are still in this process of taking the L out of the world and coming back with the word, because we're taking the lies out. You know how they say spare the rod, spoil the child? I'm not saying that's a lie, but what I'm saying is that it has to be really, uh, defined in a way for a child to really understand that it's that discipline that's needed is not necessarily the act of the strike. I just think about even when Moses, uh, he's, uh, he was told to speak to the rock, but he struck the rock. So even though he had the, the, the staff and the rod in his hand, so there is, is more about the power of discipline. And so that's what I'm— Your trusty shepherd's crook. makes me feel secure. Your discipline— God disciplines the one that he loves, so your discipline makes me feel secure. Like, I know God is going to discipline me even when I— if I, if I veer off of this path. I gotta be on this path of righteousness, but it takes for me to really read and study and really speak the word. It's one thing to listen, but be a doer. We have to be a doer as well. Doer, other words, we can't just listen to the word, but we have to speak the word ourselves. I speak the word over our lives. That's why we talk about affirmation. Um, we still have to affirm it. And if you haven't yet taken one of our masterclass, we have the masterclass for the Affirm and Devote. Um, we're opening up our Spiritual Enlightenment Awakening Academy. And we also have our Innovation of Coaching and Speaking. So look forward to those as well because we dive a lot into those areas in those spaces. So in verse 5, let's go through verse 5 because we got a lot of security and support out of this. So this verse 4, even when the way goes through Death Valley, we are secure. So security, we have that cup of security and support. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. So now you got security and you got support. So, and God supporting you because he's walking with you, he's always there. So let's go into verse 5. You serve me a 6-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head. My cup brings with blessings. My cup blends with blessings. I love it, I love it, I love this scripture, this, this, this word, because it allows us to experience God's attention, God's attention and comfort in the midst of adversity. So when we're facing a midst of adversity, um, we are— we're facing some things where it's like, God, Sometimes we even ask like, God, do you not see that? What's going on? Like I'm going trying to stay focused and move forward, stay disciplined. And just like in the wilderness with Jesus, here come the here come here come Satan showing up with all these. I I call y'all look, I'm being open and real and. Very transparent here. If you hear me say sayings, sayings, because if it's not in accordance to the word, it's Satan. It's Satan. And so I don't call his name, but I say sayings. So when I'm facing sayings and it's not in accordance to the word of God, then this This scripture right now with Psalms 23, verse 5. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. Look, I'm gonna hold my head up high because I know God is right there with me. I'm not afraid. You revive my drooping head. My cup brims with blessings. So this is this is the word. This is the truth. So now I can navigate from. Sayings. Okay, when sayings want to show up, I can navigate from sayings to the word, the truth, the life, the way, and be fulfilled. And God fills my cup because I— it gets to a point where I'm like, okay, I, I still have to show up. So sometimes those things show up as well. But, um, it's a lie. So we could— we just got to continue. It's a daily fight. It's a daily work. It's a good work. It's the good work. We're doing the good work. So God's attention to detail and abundant blessings overflow, filling us with gratitude and comfort. I'm comfort— there's comfort in saying, God, you served me a 6-course dinner right in front of my enemies. And I, I'm still encouraging you guys, say it, say it, put some energy, put some effort Even when you don't feel like it, even even even you just saying it just just to say it because that's the power. It's power in the word. The power is going to do itself. Do it do its work itself. So it's just for you to accept it as God has accepted you. So let's go into the last scripture, which is verse six. Your beauty and love chase me after. chase after me every day of my life. I'm back home in the house of God for the rest of my life. I'm back home in the house of God for the rest of my life. So if you felt like you're black and now you, you like, I'm back, I'm back in the house of God, and we get to reflect on the love and the presence— I am in the presence and love of God and receive that, accept it. I, I pray really that you guys, as you are listening, that you are accepting these words for yourself and affirming them into yourself, speaking it. I pray that you guys are— your voice is so loud that it knocks down the TV or whatever, your phone, because you're yelling, yes, your beauty and love chase after me. every day of my life. I'm back in the house, in the home, in the house of God for the rest of my life. Just speaking those— speaking, speaking it, speaking it, receiving it, receiving it. Because we have to really think about how much we're really hearing, you know. Are we really hearing ourselves to believe? Do we believe in ourselves? We have to— we have to believe in ourselves. And the only way to believe in ourselves is to listen to ourselves. Um, and actually put the work in ourselves. So we have to know what we're even believing. So as we delve in, we delve deeper, we find that God provides for our minds in various ways through acceptance, affirmation, affection, appreciation, encouragement, respect, security, support, attention, and comfort. So those are the 10. We'll dive a little bit more into that on next time. So thank you guys for joining. This has been a truly enlightening experience to really go into how God fills us up daily, on a daily basis. So if you ever feel like you're, you're lacking in anything, God is there.
