Multiply In Your Faith

A Lent devotional about the widow of Zarephath, whose flour and oil multiplied when she trusted Elijah's word. The speaker argues faith is the currency of God's kingdom, citing Ephesians 2:8-9 and Hebrews 11:6 to show how faith pleases God and unlocks His provision.

Good morning, everyone. Thank you for joining. We are here with the Inner Blessings, and today is day eight of our Lent devotional. And the word for today is to multiply your faith. And the word of God is from First Kings seventeen verse fourteen. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: The jar of flour will not be used up, and the jug of oil would not run dry until the day the Lord sends the rain on the land. So in First Kings seventeen, we read the story of the widow Zarephath. Yeah, y'all know how these words mean. Zarephath. We go. We gonna work on it. Okay. Who was preparing to eat her last meal when Elijah entered her life. What the woman did not know— and this is so true in our lives as well— God will supply all your needs, and he will use a stranger to do so. After a brief conversation where Elijah asked her to make a small loaf of bread for him, at the same time that he says The God of Israel says, "The jar of flour will not be used up, and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land." The woman experiences multiplication. Here's the lesson about multiplication. So we're multiplying our faith. So let's dive a little bit more into the lesson. God can bless even the little you have left. This woman had no idea that Elijah was coming to her house, no idea God was about to answer her prayer, no way to know if the prophet's words were even going to work, but she had faith. There is something to be said for faith, especially when it's all you have. Ooh. Even when it's all you have left. So I hear Pastor saying, I'm not going to bother that. But have you thought about how many of the miracles that Jesus performed involved bread? God knows what you need when you need it, and he can multiply even when you don't see where it's coming from. Yes, this is the year to multiply. But don't limit God to multiplying what you can see. Watch him work in the areas where and when you least expect it. Faith is the currency of the kingdom. It is so vital that you need it to be saved in Ephesians 2:8-9, and you can't please God without it. So we know that it's vital Faith is the currency of the kingdom. We can find that in Ephesians 2:8-9. And we know that you can't please God without it. You can't please God without faith, so you can't buy into the kingdom without faith. And that's in Hebrews 11:6. So one preacher defines faith as acting like God is telling the truth all the time about everything. As we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, let's ask God to increase our faith so that we can see him clearly. Let's go into prayer. Father, increase my faith. Help me to see that you are a supplier of my needs. You are my Jehovah Jireh. In Jesus' name, amen. Thanks everybody for joining me for the day 8 of our Lent devotional. We give thanks to Change Church under the leadership of Pastor Darius Daniels for providing this devotional, and also we give glory and honor to God. Thank you. Have a blessed one.
