Blessings everyone and welcome to day 19. I am super excited about sharing this, um, day 19 Lent devotional. And you know, this is the year of multiply, so on day 19 we are multiplying your commitment to your word. And we know that the word of God is so much— it brings much principles. It brings, it brings truth, it brings life, and it brings the way to actually show up, especially when we talk about commitment. Commitment is a way. So we want to walk down that road of commitment. And so today on day 19, we multiply your commitment to your word. In Genesis 17, verse 2, It says, then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers. Have you ever made a promise to someone and forgotten the conditions of the promise? Yeah, um, especially probably when I was a kid. I probably made a lot of promises like, okay, yeah, I'll bring you some candy tomorrow, but, um, maybe forgot. So, um, and forgotten the conditions, like I forgot to bring Has anyone ever made you a promise and forgotten to fulfill it? Yes. In our scripture, God is speaking to Abram about increasing the number of his descendants. The only condition that God gives to Abram is to walk with him and to be blameless. God promises Abram that he will multiply his descendants and increase them in number. The problem is This may have been hard for Abram to grasp because he did not have an heir. So remember, before Abram became Abraham, he did not have any children, so he didn't have an heir at that time. So the only person whom he had was his servant. It was 24 years after God first promised Abram a son, and God kept his word to give Abram a son. God remembered his covenant and fulfilled it. How many times have we forgotten our promises to others? Now they no longer trust what we say we are going to do. When others forget their promise to us, we are disappointed and do not trust their words as well. God doesn't disappoint us. Just as God reassured Abraham, or Abram, about the covenant, God reassures us as well. A condition of the covenant was for Abraham, or Abram, to live for God and be blameless. Abram lived a blameless life and honored God. When we live for God, he will fulfill his promise or agreement that he has made to us. In this season, let us move forward and towards keeping our covenant. With God and walking more closely with him. And a way to walk closely with him is prayer. So let's go into prayer just to say, Father, thank you. Thank you for remembering the covenant you made with us. Thank you for not being a man that you would lie, because it is not in your nature to lie. What you have said, you will do. In this season of increase, help us to be obedient by honoring the covenant we have with you. Help us to walk in your ways and to live a life of increase. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. Thank you, Father. So as we multiply on day 19, your commitment to your word, just remember, he is a man that he shall not lie. He isn't. He is. He will not lie. God cannot lie. Um, he is. He is great. Um, his nature is so great, and it helps us to be obedient by honoring the covenant. So as you multiply your commitment, just honor the covenant that you have between God and you. He said he will make your um make you. And will greatly increase your numbers. And so keep that in mind as you go and enjoy your blessed day. Blessings until we meet again on day 20.
