Profitable // Grace Space // Sharnita Gates

Sharnita Gates explores what makes life profitable spiritually, arguing that choosing God's word over worldly promises determines your value. She references Mark 8:36 on gaining the world but losing your soul, and urges listeners to become relational assets rather than liabilities through devotion and belief change.

Everyone, and welcome to The Gray Space. I'm excited to be here on today with you guys as we go through and be fruitful, be fruitful, multiply the word of God. We are still on our mission to take the L out of the world and come back with the word, the word of God, the truth, the life, and the way. as we go through our reflections, our daily strategy and approaches, and our devotions, we are getting an understanding. And all our getting, we are getting an understanding. So I'm proud of each and every one of you as you come into this gray space and really do the reflection, the devotion, and the strategy and approach. And also writing it on your heart. Our heart We're still in the prayer of God every day, creating us a clean heart, renew a righteous spirit within us. We want your spirit to reign in us. And so there's things that in our heart that we have leaned on to our own understanding. And so we are leaning on our— not on our own understanding, but trusting in the Lord with all our heart. So as you come in to the gray space, I pray that you have your Bibles. You have your colors. I told y'all I was gonna get my bag, my bag of colors. I got my bag of colors today, y'all. I got a wide range of colors today, and I have both of my canvases today. We have Get Your Canvas of the Heart, um, and however, if you're a visual learner, and we just went through the instructions, take heed on what you hear. And to do that, you have to really understand how do you listen, how do you learn, how do you, you know, take in things into your heart to get an understanding. And for me, I'm a very logical person. So as far as if you write the vision and make it plain, I'm like the herald that can run with it. Um, so that's what we're wanting to do is as we Write the vision that God has given us in this gray space. We want to put that on our canvas of our heart and say, "This is what I'm understanding." And then so when others or you may even go back and read it, this isn't this is yes, it does help others, but also it's developing you as well as you see this is how I understand. So when you do go back and read it, if you don't understand, it's like okay. Now I can still continue. What we, we're doing in this grace space is getting an understanding, so we can continue to get an understanding. We're always going to get an understanding. And this is just as we go through the knowledge of what God has given us and the instructions in his word, as he's, he's doing the teaching, as he's doing the correcting, rebuking, and training us, we can go back and get a— get further clarification in the time that is needed. We, we're not going to be able to take all this in, in one, in one sitting. And so this is why we're doing the good work and being a, you know, studying to show ourselves approved and putting in the work to really get the knowledge and get the understanding, because God has given us wisdom. So we ask, asking, we ask and it shall be given to you. So you got the word, it's given to you. Seek and you shall find. So now we have to seek what we're finding. So today, as we go into our reflection, our devotion, and our strategy and approach, today we're going to be seeking profit and a good gain. Good gain. And that's what I, you know, I want to kind of talk about today is a good profit, you know, a good gain, you know, what, what that actually entails. where we're at here in the gray space. And if you, if you're not familiar with the, the pillars to fulfillment, we have our 4 pillars to fulfillment. And the first one is being a relational asset and not a user liability. So that's one of the things that we wanted to talk about today as far as, are you being a relational asset? And how to be a relational asset. Let's get some understanding of what it means to be a relational asset and not a user liability. We're all using everything. So we have the, you know, our words. We're using our words in so many different ways. And if you haven't did the heart check, I would advise you to do the heart check. And get the heart shape because it's it's not just merely the the words that produces works. So we have to you know and when people can't see what God is doing, you know they stumble up over themselves. So we have to really see what God is doing, and that's how we get understanding the vision. That's why we are. Really diving into the word so we can really get an understanding. So we want to go through good gain and value today. So let's start off with— we're going to start off with— we have 3 main scriptures on today, and I'm going to go ahead and give you guys the scriptures. So if you want to go ahead and write them down, it's Luke 7 and 28. That's Luke 7 and 28. And we also have Mark 8 and 36. So Mark chapter 8, verse 36, and Matthew chapter 13, verses 57. So those are our 3 main scriptures today. We're going to be talking about good gain, Um, and, and value. So let's start off with the greatest prophet. We're talking about the greatest prophet, and we're talking in Luke 7:28. Now Jesus was speaking, and he was saying, you know, he said, to you who are born of women, among you there is no greater prophet. than John the Baptist. So he was saying that John the Baptist was of, of them people, of people born of women. Among them there is no greater prophet than John the Baptist. He that is least in the kingdom of God— in the kingdom of God, unless you are born again. This is, this is insert, this is, I think it's John, it's in John It's unless you are born again, um, you can— and, and you cannot see the kingdom of God. So he that is least in the kingdom of God, if you are in the kingdom of God, if you've been born again, is greater than he. And he's talking about John the Baptist. So being born again, that's a— we're talking about him being a greater— a great prophet. And we're talking about John the Baptist being a great prophet. So when you are born again, you— and, and you are, even if you are least in the kingdom, you are, are, uh, you are greater even than John the Baptist. So what we're saying is that in that point in time, Jesus was called, John the Baptist was called for their participation in God's creation, for his purpose to actually preach and teach. the kingdom of God. And so when it revealed the mysteries to the kingdom of God, and once they, they were able to fulfill their calling, which there was their reason for their creation, it paved the way for the kingdom of God to be revealed. So we're talking about a prophet. So now the kingdom of God has been revealed, and then those born, you know, of women Um, there is no greater prophet than John the Baptist. Now we're— now, so we're talking about in the kingdom of God. Now let's talk about— let's, let's go to— now we have— okay, we have an understanding. I pray that you have an understanding. Get an understanding of the great prophet. So understanding The calling that was on John the Baptist and Christ and Jesus when they came and was preaching the kingdom of God. And so they were revealing the mysteries of the kingdom of God, and which allowed the kingdom of heaven to be preached as well. And so that's what we're going to go into now, leading into Mark 8. and 36, it's talking about gain. And it says, what good— what good— so we're talking about good gain. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world and yet lose their soul? So on— when we're talking about the kingdom of heaven and Christ, he came in and preached and taught the kingdom of heaven and also revealed the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Now, that is great in value when you think about the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God, the mysteries that is being revealed. There's so much to gain from there, but there's still the, the gain of the, the profit of the world. And the, the whole world can promise you riches and, you know, things in that sort, and the things that we, you know, we tend to care about or treasure in our heart. And so that's why we want to talk about, is it really a good gain? Is it really good profit? And when we were talking about the other day when, uh, we was going through the parable of the sower and was talking about the different levels, the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven, and then as far as when Jesus was preaching and he was teaching the pre— um, the the parable of the sower, and we was talking about when you first start and you're starting by the wayside, there's things along the path that will come and first devour. So you're going to be in a place where things are going to devour you. So that's the things of this world can devour us. Um, and then you go through and then things start to get rocky. It's because of the cares and the riches of this world. So that's why I was like, as far as it is, it What, what good is it that a man gain the whole world but lose their soul? So you have the, the riches that the world promised, you have all the things that we, we tend to care about that the world promised, but at the same time, as you're gaining that, are you gaining anything in your soul, your mind? How, how, how is your mind? How is your will? How is your emotions? How is your imagination and your affection? So is your affection going to the things in this world? And based off of that, that's why we want to talk about what are you gaining in life if Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and we, we say we have Christ. Are you gaining life in the way of the world, or are you gaining life in the way of the word? So when you have the word versus the world, The gain, the good gain, is in the word. So, and that's that's the kingdom of heaven. That's why Christ came and he preached and taught on the kingdom of heaven. When he taught us how to pray, he said, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." So he was already giving us how to pray heaven down. Okay, heaven down on earth. So we won't have to choose the world, um, and we can really gain a great value of the word. So let's talk about value. Let's start off with John the Baptist. He, you know, and they was talking about the people who were born among women. So a lot of times when we're born into our, you know, born into the world, we're born into the world and we come, it's very invaluable. Think about it, we're, we're born, we don't have Anything, we don't know anything. We have to learn everything. Everything has to be taught. So we really can't be or bring much value. So we come out being very at the beginning is very invaluable. And so our belief is you know we believe what what we're what we're taught. And so that's why every scripture is God's breath and is useful for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training us so that we be thoroughly equipped for the good work. So the good work based off of what we believe. the— based off of the work that is being presented to us. And we're starting off, that's what's going to shape our beliefs. Those beliefs shape our behaviors. So now if your belief is bad, you have bad behaviors, and now your, your, your value is really decreasing. So you're not able to give much honor if your, your, your beliefs are wrong, your behaviors are demonstrating no value, and you are more of a relational, um, liability and not an asset. So this is where it comes as far as you being known. So when people know you for your behaviors, your, your, your beliefs, and it's really not valuable, they're really not going to give you much honor. And that's why I wanted to Uh, um, go into Matthew 13:57, and when Jesus said, a prophet is not without honor save in his own country and in his own house. So because of that, you're, you're that invaluable state because they know your, your previous behaviors. They know your previous behaviors, that you're— that's what you're known for. And so they really can't see the value. And so it— so you're growing in value now. Not saying that you have to stay with what you're given. So what is it? What is it to gain the whole world you've gained the whole world and it's— you're invaluable. But then when, you know, when you gain the word and now you, you're, you're profiting in your, your soul, your soul is prospered because now you're, you're choosing not the life that was given, the life that was, you know, taken. Um, and that's your, your life, you know. Christ was taken He was he he was he he was killed for us. So that's that's something that was taken away, even if it if it's not you know it's not seen. Um, and it's so much value when you accept Christ into your life and knowing that he is the living word. And when you accept the word into your life, you're able to see that it has so much value and the value in the word. And when you hear, what good is it for someone to gain the whole world but lose their soul? You still have the capability of changing those limiting beliefs and going to a whole new belief system where you believe in the word, you believe in the life, you believe in the truth, you believe in the way that God has come to give. He said, I come to give you life and life more abundantly. So we have so much value in the word. And so that's where we have good gain. It's good to gain the word, not the world, not the world's way. The way— gain the way, gain the truth, gain the life. And that's where it's good. Good gain is profit, is profitable, is valuable. The word has so much value in it, and that's why we do our reflection, our devotion, and our strategy approach. Based on the word, as we get an understanding of where our beliefs are. You know, if anything in this— in the word, or in the— if anything in the world comes against the word, I'm going with the word. The word has more value. I'm going to put my— my belief is going to be in the word. And so that changes our behaviors. So when you gain the, the word You, you, you, your behaviors change. So now your behavior is changing, and also your, your, your value is going up, your honor is going up, and that can cause an offense to the people who may have been in your, in your world, because now you're not in the world, um, you're more in the word. So your beliefs are starting to display the word and not the world ways. So it's kind of, you're rejecting the world, um, and accepting the word. And so it, it produces— that's the same thing that Jesus, um, is talking about in Matthew 13:57. You know, a prophet is not with— is not without honor save in his own country and in his own household. Because they, they know your, or, you know, your previous beliefs, but now they have to really know your new beliefs, which they can take an offense to. So you have to be aware based off of the word. They, they can— they, you, you know, based off of what you're known for, that it can cause offense to someone because now is unknown because it's unknown to them, because now your belief system is not their same belief system. So that's where the, the, the difference in value and honor. But I really want to say, when it— we were talking about Mark 8:36, um, I'm sorry, we have one other scripture, and that's to be devoted to one another In love, and that's Romans 12:10. Let me write that one. Romans 12:10 says, "Be devoted to one another in love," and we already said we defined what love is. Love is patient. So be devoted to one another and pay with patience. Do not be easily angered. Do not keep records of wrongs. So this is where the behaviors change because now your belief is I'm not going to. Um, be easily angered. I'm going to be patient. I'm not going to envy. I'm not going to boast. I'm not going to take records of wrongs. And so now your behaviors are changing based off of your belief, because previously you might— your belief probably wasn't to be like— for instance, for me, it was patience is your virtue. What does that mean? You know, and it— you have to get an understanding. So now understanding what virtues is, you know, that attribute, that characteristic, you know, um, where it holds a lot of value in who you are. And so being patient is more of now I can do that act in love because now I have the belief because I went to the word and the word said be patient. Be patient in affliction. So now I know when I'm going through affliction or I'm going through any type of controversy or adverse, you know, any type of trouble, he said take heart. You see, so now the word is really shifting my belief because now it's not just one, one single thing in the world. Okay, yeah, patience is your virtue. We've probably all heard that, but, um, We need, we need the word, okay? We know that's why we're taking the L out of the world and coming back with the word. Because if the— if, if you ask me now, I probably would not tell you, you know, patience is your virtue. I'll probably tell you be patient in affliction, take heart, you're going to have trouble, um, in this world, but take heart, get an understanding, um, and to do things in love, which is the Spirit of God. You have to be patient. You have to be kind. You have to not keep records of wrongs. You have to not be easily angered. And then, you know, now validating you can be angry, but sin not. Don't let the sun go down on your anger. So you have to figure that out. So what's the next step after that? Okay, well, you're probably angered because somebody sinned against you. It says to be, you know, so now we're talking about reconciliation, not to lead them into reconciliation. But previously in the world, you know, gaining the world of what the world has to say and not taking on that, that responsibility to do the good work to get the word, we're just stuck with patience is your virtue. So we have to go forward and, and really, really gain the good gain and profit in the good way of gaining, not, you know, understanding of the word and really seeking the word. And he said, ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find. So now we're finding and knocking and the door shall be open. So now the door of, you know, of understanding is open, the door of clarity is open, the door of confidence is open. So now you're, you're able to honor more based off of your behaviors because now your beliefs are changing. And that's the mighty works of Jesus Christ, is the work that he do inside of us, that good work he's working inside of us. If we abide in him and he abide in us, we will bear much fruit. That's how you become more fruitful in love and more fruitful in joy, um, because then at the same time you're going to go through it and you might even weep. You know, weeping only, you know, endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning. So, you know, if, if I'm gonna weep at night, I know what's coming tomorrow— joy. Because my belief is in the word. The word is truth. It is the truth. It is the way. It is the life. So I'm getting that in abundance based off of just switching your belief from a limiting belief to a more valuable belief. The limiting belief is the world. So if you have your— if you— if it's the world's way, it's a limited belief. If it's the word, it is the true belief. Uh, true belief, it is belief. It's not— it's— you have unbelief and you have belief. Belief is the word, unbelief is the world. So we do things, we're going to faith it, because faith comes by hearing and hearing Faith in it, and so it builds up on principles, your respect, your defense. It becomes your defense to the offense because you're going to offend others with your belief, just as Christ did. He and so your principles, your your your ethics is your honor because we honor we if you we are to honor the Father. We all believe in God, but it's a difference believing in the Son as well, because you are honoring— you know that the word says that unless you honor the Son, you cannot honor the Father. If you don't honor the Son, you're not honoring the Father. So we have that capability to— so we have to be devoted to one another in love. And honor one another. And to do— to really show honor, we have to gain those principles. We have to gain that respect. We have to change our behavior. So in order to change our behaviors, we have to change our beliefs. So that's the, the, the gain and the, the profit that I wanted to talk about today. Are you gaining the word? Are you gaining the word. And this is the space where we are reflecting on the word. Let's reflect on the word. I want you guys to really reflect on those— we, we added a scripture, so those 4 scriptures: Luke 7:28, Mark 8:36, Matthew 13:57, and Romans 12: 10. Reflect on those and devote yourself to getting the understanding. Of course, yes, we went through it, but you have your canvas. Get your canvas and get your— and get, get your understanding. Take heed on how you hear because I'm giving much, um, and so take it in. I really encourage you to take it in. And I'm in this space Patient. There's not— I'm— no one's keeping records of any wrongs. We're not envying, you know, we're being kind to one another. We're— this is the space where we're gonna do that. So no matter how many times you have to draw it, no matter how many times you have to, you know, get any understanding, if you, um, have to communicate it, I want you to devote yourself to really getting those 4 scriptures, writing out your understanding, and then the strategy and approach is to try to implement those scriptures into your life as you get an understanding, identifying what's your belief, what's your— you know, you— if you have the beliefs, what are those beliefs? Are they, are they in accordance to, in alignment to the word? If they're not, then Probably was produced in the world, so we can take that L out of that, um, and come back with the word. So we— when you take the L out of the world, those lies, and you come back with love, that's where the, the L in the word— even though it's not seen in the word, it is still seen in the word, the unseen word of love. So thank you guys for joining. Thank you. The gray space. This is the space where we are being fruitful and multiplying and multiplying the word of God. We came with 4 scriptures on today, so guys, we are really doing the good work. So I'm excited to be here. I'm thankful that we are blessed to be a blessing. So go out and be blessed.
