Speak It till You Understand It

Sharnita Gates leads a three-part reflection on speaking life into being. She draws on Psalm 59:17 to encourage singing praises through pain, Jude 1:24 to explain that standing blameless comes from God's presence not personal perfection, and Numbers 3:8 to urge serving God with excellence and integrity.

Blessing everyone and welcome back to our great space where we are being fruitful and multiplying. I'm Sharnita Gates, and today we're going to go through our reflection, our devotion, and our daily strategy and approach. Today we're going to reflect on something I want to call speaking life. Now that life and death is in the power of the tongue, so we're going to utilize our mouths today to kind of speak life into what we believe. And so right now we have, I will sing in the rain and through the pain. And our memory verse is going to come from Psalm 59:17. Oh my strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love. So as we go through the reflection, we want to bring a vision to our hearts where we understand, understanding that memory verse, and we wanted to drop down into your heart as far as to be able to speak life into it. Like, what does it mean as we reflect on, oh my strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, oh God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love? I want you to kind of vision you and all the things that you've been through, all the storms and all the pain But then you have God as your fortress, and you know all the things like the looks, the sounds, the feelings as you're you're experiencing as you're going through what you're going through. But you sing those praises as you go through. That's what in you know as you go out of the storms and the pain, and you're still singing praises. You know that's you know what it means. Like God is my fortress. And he shows me steadfast love, like through it all, God loves you. He, he sees you. He's there with you. And, you know, to speak life into your situation, just sing, you know, say, I will sing praise and I will sing in the rain and through the pain. So just continue to sing and, you know, through the rain, no matter what, you know, how you're looking, feeling, or sounding. just continue to praise him through it all. So that's our reflection on how we speak in life, like into our life as we go through different storms and, and different pains in our life. So that drives us into our devotion, and our devotion is standing blameless. We're going to talk about a little bit of integrity, um, what it means to live blameless. Like, it's not necessarily that we are free of, um, any type of sin. So let's go into Jude 1:24. To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of his glory blameless with great joy. To him who is able to keep you from stumbling. So, you know, standing blameless, like, what, what are you standing on? You're standing on the word of God, and that's How we go into the scripture, we want to notice in the scripture, you know, the presence, the presence of God. To him who was able to keep you. So you're being kept as you go through different things, and just remembering that it's not necessarily us who are, you know, our integrity come from is God. Is he's with us and He makes you stand in the presence of his glory, in his glory, blameless, with great joy. So, you know, as we kind of go through the devotion, like, one of the examples was like when you see an angel, you know, in the Bible, when the angels approach different individuals, they would have to be told not to fear. And so as we go through things, we have to also be told not to fear. As we go through speaking life, you know, I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? No, we have to speak that life into our our life. We have to speak it and to believe it. So just react to what you're going through in the proper way of knowing that God is with you. So the reaction. You know, when you actually see God, you are able to stand before him, and you stand before him blameless, with great joy and tears of gratitude, and righteous. But it's not our righteousness, it's the righteousness of Christ Jesus. He paid it all when he took away for our sinful nature, um, and counted it against itself. you know, Jesus died so that we won't, you know, have to face that, that same judgment. So Jesus' righteousness is given to us, and that's where we become blameless. Our debts are forgiven. So devoting ourselves to being blameless with great joy, you know, showing tears of gratitude and the righteousness of Christ, like Walking in that righteousness, knowing that without Christ we would— we wouldn't be able to stand blameless. So the strategy and approach for today as we go forth: we're serving for God's sake, not for the sake of anything or anyone. It is all for God's sake. And the scripture, Numbers 3, verse 8. They are to fulfill the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle. So we are obligated. We still have obligations, although that we, you know, are blameless or going through storms or, or pains. We still have our obligations, um, and that's doing the work of God. So we're serving for God's sake. So our approach— that's our strategy. Our approach would kind of just kind of reflect on what he did versus whom he was and who he was doing it for. Like, God was doing all this for us, and that's important. That's important for us to approach it like God done, you know, he get— it's more than just saying God gave his only begotten Son, you know. It is what he, he, he did for us. Like, no one else can do what God did for us. And so we have to think about the values. And God is a great God, so we have to have great values. And that's why we're seeking excellence for his honor. A great, great work for a great God. That's the approach. So thank you guys for joining the Grace Space. Continue to be fruitful and multiplying and multiplying the word of God.
