The Newness of Life

In this devotional teaching, the speaker explores the concept of "newness of life" that believers experience each day through their relationship with Christ. Drawing primarily on 2 Timothy 1:7, the message explains that the Spirit grants believers power, love, and a sound mind—not as self‑generated traits but as expressions of Christ‑centered obedience, co‑giving love, and disciplined thinking. The speaker then connects these gifts to practical living, emphasizing clarity, strength, and the importance of daily self‑discipline to maintain a mind set on things above. Using Galatians 6:9, the talk urges perseverance, warning against weariness in doing good, and introduces a bridge metaphor that links tolerance and understanding to the harvest of good works. The teaching highlights inner renewal, honor, joy, and abundant life as outcomes of faithfully following Christ’s obedience, love, and mindset, encouraging listeners to persist, focus forward, and continually seek God’s glory in all aspects of life.

Blessings and welcome back to the Grace Space where we are being fruitful and multiplying. Today we are going to focus in on a little bit of the newness of life when you are just kind of receiving a new way of, you know, living and who you may be modeling yourselves after. And at this point, we are representing God based off of our transformation in Christ. And so when we wake up every morning, it's a newness of life that we receive. And so today, as we go into the devotion, we're going to go into clarity, touching a little bit more about clarity and strength. And the word that we're going to go into is 2 Timothy 1:7. For the Spirit that God gave— He is, you know, that's one of the things that, you know, we are going to go into is the Spirit that God gave. And we know that the Spirit that God gives us is not to make us timid, but to give us power, love, and a sound mind. And let's tap into that a little bit more as far as when we think about power. That's the obedience of Christ. So it's not the type of power that we may think we have on our own, but it's just more of the obedience of Christ. And then when we think about the love, it's basically us being co-givers through, through Christ to God. So God gave his— he gave us his power, he gave us his You know, his spirit, and we get that, do that. So we get to give also through Christ. So that's what love is. And then self-discipline, as far as the mind of Christ, being able to have a mind of Christ and a connection to God. And as we go through that connection to God, It builds up a discipline that we need to have over ourselves, how we control our mind, what we put our mind to, what we are setting our mind on, how we're building up our maintaining. All those things is a discipline. And then we can go into, you know, a little bit of clarity as to as we go through the power, you know, know, the obedience, the giving, and also the mind that we, we are seeking after, and that's the mind of Christ. And we, we get to come to the conclusion that it is all for a reason. And everything that has happened to you, it is all for a reason. So today, as we go into clarity and strength, We're finding that simplicity. We're going to find a simple way to stay within our obedience, our, you know, clarity of mind, having the mind of Christ, and but also being a giver. We are also still giving through, and we're going to touch on that a little bit more in the reflection. But when we're finding that simplicity, we can find peace through that empowerment. Like we said, the power comes from, you know, Christ. So as we continue to earnestly seek and learn more about Christ and how he were obedient, we can also be obedient as well. So we are empowering ourselves, especially as we go into that self-discipline. Um, but, and, but we have to remember that it's not to make us timid. Like, and timidity is basically that false evidence appearing real, as we say. Um, it's, it's not true. Those things that are not true, once you actually, you know, switch into the obedience of Christ, and you also, you learn the truth And then you're able to move forward in the world. Like, although that we are in the world, we're not of the world. So it's, it's one of those things as far as understanding that the empowerment comes through the understanding of and acceptance of Christ. And you find simplicity. Like, it's, it's Christ. It's not You know, anything of my own. So even though we go through that, we may not understand everything that happened happens for a reason. Even though it happened doesn't mean that we are going to understand. But there's you know we may understand some, we may not. But we do understand that it is for a reason, and the reason is for God and His glory, for Him to receive the glory. He, he created us. He gave. It is all part of his plan. So we may not understand, but it is, it is, it's for a reason. And we may not understand the reason at this moment, but everything happens for a reason. And the reason is for, you know, God and his reasons. So We still have to do and become. Um, so that's what we're going to reflect on a little bit as far as still doing and becoming and, and being persistent, persistent in everything that we are called to do, whether it's prayer or giving or building. We're going to talk a little bit about opening And to get to opening, we're going to go through, um, Galatians 6:9. Let us— so when we're trying to get to an opening, we have to remember Galatians 6:9, and it's, do not get weary in well-doing. Do not give up. Um, so we're going to face some prejudice and some barriers And that's where we may not know, we may be struggling, we may be put down, we may be forced to do things that we may not want to do, but we're going to continue to do good. And doing good is urging others to continue on in the, in the, the good fight. This is the good— this is a good fight of, I mean, the good doing good and becoming good. So we don't want to get weary because they're able to allow us to get to that place of opening. And in the proper time, you know, we'll reap a harvest if we do not give up. So do not give up. And there's a bridge that I kind of want to highlight. And, you know, the food from— you know, some people think of, you know, may think of physical food, but You know, thinking about the word, um, where, you know, tolerance and understanding, you know, it bridges a gap between, um, the harvest, the opening, and also, you know, doing good. Um, so we may, we may face not knowing or struggling, but we continue to continue to urge people to do good. We're going to continue to do good, and that bridge, it opens up opportunities to do good. So just look for that bridge, and that's what the word does. It opens up the bridge and the tolerance and understanding that we may need for continuing to— in understanding to continue to do good. We definitely want to continue to do Good, especially to the family of believers. But we also want to do good to all people. Just knowing that God is working, and He gets He gets all the glory. So one of the things is continuing to ask God to inspire and can inspire you, and to endure in you. Let these His Spirit, like we said, the obedience. The mind of Christ and the love of God. Let that continue to inspire you and endure in you. And that's his Spirit. We're not going to let any type of timidity or anything come in. We know that if that does come in, it's just basically us not knowing we're going to face struggles. But we're going to, as we become more persistent in doing and becoming, is building up a perseverance in us. And then we can also take on these— a new strategy and approach, as we say, is daily renewal. The light, our light, and our momentary troubles. Now those are— think about it— our light and our momentary struggle, struggle, troubles. It equals his eternal glory. Remember, we may not understand, we may not know, but it all is for God's glory, and that's eternal. Yes, he is eternal. We're not. His spirit is eternal. We're not. Our flesh, our bodies, our life, you know, we're not eternal. Um, our troubles are not eternal. So it outweighs them all. It outweighs all our troubles. It outweighs all our life. But it brings honor in, you know, the time that passes when we think about age. So it brings honor. How do you honor? And it brings a beauty and an inward renewal. Like, we're renewing, as you know, through the self-discipline. We're renewing our mind. We're not, you know, having a mind of how the world may think, but we, we can set our minds on things above. And not beneath. So it's truly above. It's above me now. Um, it's, it's in, it's in God's hands. Um, it's what's in my hands is in my hands. And that's what we were talking about as far as the choices. I choose my happiness. Um, so I'm not going to lie, you know, lay my happiness in someone else's hands. It's, it's in mine. Um, and like I said, that happiness and health, it brings that joy, it brings that wealth. And then, um, I get life and life more abundantly. So that is just, you know, the beauty, the inward renewal. It is true wisdom. And that's, you know, think about age, aging time, but the time that you put in being persistent And not giving up but still doing good, it produces inside what people may not— you know, that's our light. It's not eternal, but inside, God knows what's inside of you. And then you have a little bit more of knowledge of what's inside of you. And then you understand that this is for God's glory. It's not for me. You know, I get to honor You know, and I like that. That's one of the core values on how we continue to live, love, and lead like Jesus, because we get to honor, we get to show honor, and get to learn how to show honor. And that is through not giving up, but it's also that inward beauty that we're, you know, building within ourselves. So continue to Not give up. Do not get weary in well doing. Like God is going to, you know, His word is going to come forth. And then remember that's that that bridge that we, you know, in the midst of doing good, but continue to fellowship with believers and you know seek God in everything like building like. Anytime you have that fear, continue to tap into the obedience of Christ. Say, you know, having a mind of Christ, um, and also the love of God. Remember the love of God, you know. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind, and your strength. So all that goes over to God. Like, let me set my mind on God, the things above. He is above. It all. He is— he— God is above it all. But to get through to God, you have to go through Jesus. So continue to go the way, um, continue to— it's like I was saying yesterday, it's straight and narrow. And, um, one of the things I wanted to kind of tap into a little bit more is looking forward and not, you know, swaying to the left or to the right. You know, keep looking forward. And as you continue to look forward, set your mind on the obedience of Christ, your— of the love of God, and also the mind of Christ to get to the Father, to, you know, have a connection with God. So those are the disciplines and the obedience that I, I seek. I am building and be doing and becoming more every day. So that's why this, this space is the grace space, is sufficient in building us up in the way. Right now, this is a teaching, rebuking, correcting. We are, we are teaching, we are rebuking, we are correcting, and we are going through that training. Um, so thank you guys for joining. Um, And have a blessed day. Continue to be fruitful and multiplying. And what we are multiplying is what? The word of God. So continue to do that and have a blessed day.
