Trust The Process

Sharnita Gates explores spiritual renewal through Colossians 3:10, explaining that salvation is complete but faith requires ongoing work with God. She uses a sunrise photography story to show how faith means confidence in unseen outcomes, then offers a concrete strategy: swap pity for praise, claim your identity as a conqueror from Romans 8:37, and repeat prayer and affirmation until transformation shows.

Blessings everyone and welcome to the Grace Space. I'm Sharnita Gates and today we are going through our daily reflection, our strategy and approach, and our devotion. This is the time where we are multiplying the, the mind. We are going through our reps and I pray that you go through one of the lessons that we have within our Grace Space But today we're going to talk about the process. The process: put on your new nature and be renewed as you lean and learn to know your Creator and become like him. And that's Colossians 3:10. Colossians 3:10: put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator And become like him. So that's the process for us to put on our new nature and be renewed as we learn and to know God, our Creator, and become more like him. While our salvation is a completed work, there is a continual working out of our faith, and faith comes by hearing. And hearing comes by the word of God. So there is a continual working out of our faith. This is because God has called you into a relationship with himself. Relationships need to be nurtured and maintained. The word the Bible uses for this concept is renewal. So put on your new nature and be renewed. So the concept is renewal. So we're reflecting on the renewal. And that's the word of God, and that's the Bible. So as we get the instructions on how to be renewed, we have to have that one-on-one relationship that needs to be nurtured and maintained with God. And this is the process that we're reflecting on, the process on today. Even after salvation, our new self is still being renewed in knowledge and in our Creator's image. As God created us in his image, he created them male and female. Our minds also need continual renewal. Don't be discouraged if you are still struggling with old ways of thinking or acting. I'm gonna say that again. Don't be discouraged. This is a renewal process. It has to be nurtured. It has to be maintained. So in their relationship, do not get discouraged if you are still struggling, and that's the old ways, because we are being renewed. It's not like the old ways are going to go away. So renewal is a process. So as we're reflecting on the process, and as we continue to repent and submit ourselves to God, we have to remember that he is more passionate about renewing you than than you are. So as we go through, as far as our passions and our desire, God's passion, uh, passion and desires for us are greater. So he's loving, he's committed to the process. So it gives us, as we build up our, our core and commitment, committing ourselves to the process, God is more committed. Then you are. So don't be discouraged. Just kind of remember to know that it is a process. This is a renewal process. And as we reflect on the process on today, we have to ask ourselves, how can you renew your mind today? How can you renew your mind today? What are you going to Set your mind on and continuously do the repetition that is needed to renew your mind on today. So reflect on that, reflect on the new nature that you are growing in, and know that you should not get discouraged on this newness in this relationship. With God. So that is the reflection. As we go through the reflection, we also want to devote ourselves by seeing by faith. We know that we walk not by sight but by faith, um, and so seeing by faith— we have to be able to see by faith. And that's the part of the renewal process that we're devoting ourselves is to seeing by faith God's word is faith. So the more and more we get the words from God, the Bible, the instructions, and we are able to see and understand like with our hearts. So that's why we are being fruitful and multiplying the word of God as we fertilize our heart in understanding what God is wanting us to see. So in Hebrews 11:1 It says faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. So during a morning walk, the sun hit the waters of Lake Michigan at a perfect angle to produce a stunning view. I want you guys to devote yourself to be able to hear and be a doer of being able to Receive the word. So faith is confidence. So if the word about Christ is faith, it's also confident because we're confident in the word and what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see. We we cannot see the word of God. We can see like the words, but at the same time. When we say faith comes by hearing, you have to kind of see it by faith. You have to see the words. So as we devote ourselves to kind of go through this example, I asked a friend to stop and wait for me as I positioned my camera to take a pic. Because of the position of the sun, I couldn't see the image on my phone screen before I snapped the shot. But having done this before, I sensed it would be a great picture. I told my friend, we can't see it now, but pictures like this always come out good. And that's walking by faith. Through this life, it's often like taking the picture. You can't always see the details on the screen, but that doesn't mean the stunning picture isn't there. You don't always see God working, but you can trust that he's there. As the writer of Hebrews penned, faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do Not see. By faith, we place our confidence and assurance in God, especially when we can't see or understand what he's doing. With faith, not seeing doesn't prevent us from taking the shot. It just might make us pray more and seek God's direction. We can also rely on knowing what happens or what has happened in the past as others have walked by faith. So So that's what we get from reading, you know, spending time with God, the relationship. He gives us insight to, you know, the past of others and also guides us through our own stories. So what God has done before, he can do it again. So as we also, you know, today is the process, the renewal. If he renewed others, he can do it again. He can renew you. Um, so what are you trusting God to do even though you may not see it clearly right now? How has he delivered you or your family in the past? And devoting ourselves. Heavenly Father, thank you for all your ways. You provided for me in the past. Help me to walk by faith even if I can't see all you're doing. So everything that I've been through, there are situations that I, I, I cannot even understand, but I can trust that God has a plan for everything. He has— it was for a reason. And although what I may have seen was what I believe, but at the same time, I can see by faith knowing that God is, is the Word. So he's going to, you know, give me the desire. He knows what I hope for. He knows the desires of my heart, the things that I understand, like what What I'm seeking to understand. So in this renewal process, it gives me the confidence and knowing that as I continue to have faith in God, I can— you know, it gives me assurance. It brings that assurance. Um, even though if I can't see it right now, I still have that assurance. So the strategy and approach is I will swap pity for praise. Like, I'm not going to sit and have pity. I'm going to praise God through it all. Um, continue to praise no matter what, even through the process. It's a continual process. And when we think about Romans 8:37, nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. So Romans 8:37, praise, because in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. And the winner is you. You win. Weep, cry, and fret no more. Swap the pity for praise and walk in the victory that the Lord has promised you. Praise until you see a shift. Pray until you see the change. Affirm the word of the Lord until you feel the word strengthen you. You are more than a conqueror. Now act like it. Now act like it. And the renewal— act like, act like you are more than a conqueror. So stand firm, be courageous, be bold, do everything in love as you go through that renewal process. Continue to stay focused on the those areas that are outlined that God has given you. And then also continue to build up that core, like we said, this commitment. God is more committed to the process than you are. So thank you guys for joining this Mindcast on today and our Grace Space. Go out, be fruitful and multiply, and have a blessed day.
