10 ways lead generation is changing in 2026, part 5. And this one is actually good news if you are an independent agent or you're a small business owner and you're looking to generate your own leads. And that is generic lead ads are not going to convert. In fact, I have seen in 2025 how generic lead ads are slowly increasing that cost per lead. If you are purchasing leads from a lead vendor, you may have noticed that lots of the prices have started to go up and they like to hide behind and be like, oh, we're doing all of these crazy different marketing things. No, you're not. No, you're not. I've seen your ads and they are very generic. And that is why the amount of money that they're having to spend to generate a lead is slowly going up. And that means that they're going to pass that off to you. Now, this AEP, I had a brand new Medicare agent that started generating leads for the very first time, and she was generating them for $3.23. Is that insane? Yes. Is that what every single agent is getting? No. But it just shows you what is actually possible when whenever you have messaging that is super specific. So please know these templates, these giveaways, these, uh, generic, or even using an AI avatar to run for your ads, it's not going to cut it. Okay? People want authentic messaging with an authentic person on the other end of it. So this is great news if you are a small business owner or an independent agent. So 2026 is going to be the year that you hone in your messaging. You know how to speak to your prospects before they ever sit down in the seat. You verbalize their pain points in a way that they've never heard someone verbalize before. You gain trust and it makes selling so much easier.
