I'm stuck, frustrated, and ready to give up on my insurance business. I'm a licensed life insurance broker. I started my own small brand. I genuinely care about helping people, especially young adults. I do not use pressure tactics or confusing sales talk. I just want to give real answers and help families protect themselves. But the market feels impossible. It is saturated with agents who only care about commissions. I can't seem to find people who actually want my help. I've tried social media, some ads, and engaging in communities. Nothing is working. I'm running out of money and hope. What would you do if you were position? How would you find people who need life insurance without being pushy? Should I pivot to something else entirely? When you are building any business, many times the big roadblock that happens whenever it comes to wanting to really grow your business is the marketing side of it. Yet the marketing side of it is the very first thing that so many businesses want to outsource. And in my experience, it's because marketing seems very confusing and overwhelming, and it doesn't have to be. What I want to say to this life insurance agent— first of all, the fact that there are other agents out there that are only after commissions actually can work in your favor because you can use something called differentiation where you lead from the very beginning with how you are different from other life insurance agents. Most agents do this while I do that, and you get to have the little bit of the personal touch. Number 2, the other thing that you need to realize when you are selling a product that is protecting yourself in the future, so like life insurance or even like estate planning, sometimes even retirement planning, these are pain points that people walk around with, but they are buried deep inside. In any of your marketing, you have to actually be able able to put yourself in their shoes and word things in a way that is going to wake them up to the problem that they have. This agent says specifically that they care about helping young adults. So what I would say is get to know your target market. Start with that very specific niche and get to know what the young adult is worried about. Are you working with parents where they need to be aware that maybe their children aren't protected? Are you working with people that are working 9 to 5 that think that they have enough coverage but they actually probably don't whenever it comes to looking at what their employer provides? Knowing how to message your marketing around the pain point that you're going to remove mixed in with differentiation of how you're going to handle it different is going to be something that's going to make you stand out. While I don't have time to get into the nuances of actually running meta ads, I want to tell you it's a skill that you absolutely can learn. Anyone can learn, and you can start on a very small budget. You can even start running ads $5 a day. And the really cool thing is once you start learning that skill set and you actually start building a brand online, you start building up your social media pages, you start actually running paid ads, It is something that compounds over time. So now you're not only bringing in cold prospects from your ads that speak to them in a very intimate way, but you're also going to get more and more referrals. And if you can learn how to sell these complicated policies, I'm telling you, you can learn how to talk to people at the moment before they wanna actually sit down and have that consult with you.
