Shauna Thoresen breaks down the cost of buying insurance leads versus running your own Meta ads. Buying 20 leads monthly at $30 each costs $7,200 a year; learning Meta ads yourself cuts that to $240 a month and saves $30,000 over five years. Vendors push the complexity myth to protect their business.

Lies insurance agents are told about lead generation and Meta ads. Lie number 1, Meta ads are so complicated. You shouldn't focus on learning them. Instead, you should just focus on selling and buy leads from us. They act like they're protecting you from complexity, but in reality, they're protecting their own revenue. Just for fun, let's do some math. Let's say that you decide that you want to purchase 20 leads a month and you find a lead vendor where you are purchasing them for $30 per lead. That means that you're paying $600 per month. Over a year, you've spent $7,200. And over 5 years, you have paid lead vendors $36,000. Now let's say that you decide to take 2 weeks out of the year and learn how to manage your own Facebook ad campaigns. You launch your first campaign and you start generating leads for $12 per lead, which is very realistic in today's world. Now you're paying only $240 per month, and you just went from paying $7,220 per year to only paying $2,880 per year. You just saved yourself over $4,000. Over 5 years, you're saving over $21,000. Now let's say you optimize your ads, you hone in your messaging, and you start generating leads for $5 per lead, which again is very realistic. I have an agent that just started running ads this AEP, and she's generating leads for $3.56. Now you go from paying $7,200 per year to only paying $1,200 per year for your own exclusive leads. You just saved over $6,000 in one year, and over 5 years you've saved $30,000. That is multiple mortgage payments, your kids' college fund. That is an epic family vacation. They want you to believe that Meta ads are too complicated for you to learn because they know that the day that you learn how to generate your own leads is the day that they no longer can count on your revenue or your subscription to their lead service. Stop letting them keep you dependent, because when you own your marketing, you own your growth. Follow while I shine the light on more industry lies.
