Two questions every insurance agent should ask before hiring a marketing agency for leads

Insurance agents should ask marketing agencies two questions before hiring: Will you run ads from my account using my Facebook page? And if we part ways, do I keep all assets and data? Many agencies run ads from their own accounts, keeping valuable lead history and data if the relationship ends.

If you're considering working with a marketing agency, there are 2 questions that you absolutely need to ask. Now, this is especially true if you are an insurance agent, because this is an industry that I see run rampant with unethical practices that are designed to keep you, the insurance agent, stuck. Now, I am currently at the URL Insurance Group's Medicare Connection Conference, and I like to go around and meet all of the vendors that are there, see if there's some companies that maybe there's synergy, and also just find out more about their practices. And there were several companies there that offer to generate meta leads or Facebook Facebook and Instagram leads. And when I asked them these 2 questions, they completely failed. Question number 1, if I use you to run my ads, will you be running them from my ad account using my Facebook page? And number 2, if we dissolve the relationship, do I own all of the assets and all of the data? Most of the marketing companies that I see, especially in the insurance space, choose to run your ads from an ad account that they own. Guess what happens then if the relationship dissolves? You start over from square zero, and the marketer that owns the ad account, they have now seasoned that account to where it generates leads for whatever specific line of business you're looking for. So let's say we're doing T65 Medicare, we're trying to get in the 64, 65+ age range, you dissolve that relationship. Now they keep all of the data, they have a seasoned ad account, and they can just plug in someone else. Now at this conference, there are 2 different vendors that I spoke to, they thought I was an agent. So they tried to explain to me why it was in my best interest as an agent that they run ads from their ad account, because then they have to deal with all of the different things whenever it comes Meta, and they are the ones that are going to be responsible for what's happening, and they're going to get better results. It's complete BS. If you are going to be working with a contractor, if you dissolve that relationship, you should be able to keep all of your assets, and you should be able to part ways at a better position than you were when you first started working with them.
