Good Samaritan V2 - Vision Pro Assisted First-Aid Care

In this short demo, the team behind Good Samaritan presents a prototype designed for Stanford Treehacks ’24 that uses Apple Vision Pro mixed‑reality and wearable sensor data to guide untrained bystanders through emergency medical procedures. The narrator explains the problem – only 3.5 % of people are CPR‑trained and survival rates for seizures, cardiac arrest, and choking are low – and describes how the system would detect a victim’s condition (e.g., via a simulated Fitbit heart‑rate signal) and then overlay step‑by‑step visual instructions: turning a seizing person onto their side, supporting the head, and performing CPR with correct hand placement and compression cadence. The goal is to increase survival odds by roughly three‑fold and, as VR headsets become more ubiquitous and sleek, to provide a scalable, life‑saving aid for everyday bystanders.
