So how are you feeling about September? Have you got the post-summer blues and you're just not sure how you're going to refocus and get motivated again? Well, I'm here to help you because I'm in exactly the same boat. I've had a great summer and I'm just back from being on holiday with my daughter, so I'm desperate for some structure in my life again. Summer really throws so many people off course and can be a real problem. For some, the problem is summer's lack of routine, especially if you have children. For others, it's just a lack of structure, and that's where I'm at. I'm craving structure to my day. Now, while I was away, I was thinking of my health and myself goals for the next 3 months. And because I know so many people want a bit of motivation, I thought I'd help us all get moving and by setting our goals and getting some focus back for the next 3 months. So the first thing we have to think about with goal setting is clarity and awareness. Where are we now and what do we want to achieve? Is it just about the food or lack of exercise, or is it deeper than that? Is it about emotional connections with food, or do you self-sabotage? Are you holding yourself back in some way? These things need to be looked at because otherwise you'll go one step forward and two steps back and just get more and more frustrated. I would thoroughly recommend completing a goal map, which is on Brian Maynes' goalmapping.com. It's really, really valuable. Goals are just dreams if you don't take some action. I've learnt this to my cost. So action is the next thing that becomes the process by which success happens. The process is so important and the process is your baby steps and your daily wins. These are what will help you keep motivated. These are what tells your brain you're getting somewhere so that you can get a feeling of achievement. The baby steps and the wins are what helps your confidence and self-esteem too. They're also what creates sustainable habits. So get on to it and get September charged up and moving. Have a good think about your health and your self goals and get the goal map done. I'm doing mine tonight, and I'd love you to share your goals with me below this video or in Slimpod Club if you're a member of our community. Next time, we'll talk about making those baby, baby steps count and tracking your habits so that you can move towards success. Let's get moving on this right now.
