Have you ever wondered why some days your sugar cravings just seem impossible to ignore? It might not be the lack of willpower though, at all. In fact, there are 4, 4 everyday things that crank up your cravings without you even realizing. Firstly, skipping meals. Leave it too long without eating and your brain just starts looking for the quickest source of energy that it can find. That's when sugary foods suddenly become really, really tempting. And secondly, poor sleep. Even one night's bad sleep can increase the hormone that makes you feel hungry and reduce the one that helps you feel satisfied. No wonder you fancy the biscuits the next day. And thirdly, constantly eating processed food. It sends your blood sugar soaring and then crashing, and it's often that crash that leaves you wanting more. And finally, stress. When you're stressed, your brain just naturally looks for comfort, and sugar is one of the fastest ways that it knows how to get it. And the important thing to remember is this: none of this means that you've failed. Your brain and body are simply doing what they've evolved to do. When you understand this, that's— and what's driving your cravings, you stop beating yourself up. And that's really when change becomes so much easier. So which one surprised you most? Let me know in the comments.
