You're watching the SlimPod channel. Thinking slimmer, loving life. Hello, I'm Elisa Rager at Debenhams in Oxford Street. And this morning I'm going to be talking to you about well-fitting bras, whatever your shape, whatever your size, and the best fit for every day. Janet Rager is a lingerie business that was established 40 years ago by my parents, and for the last 10 years I've been working exclusively with Debenhams on the Rager by Janet Rager line. We produce the most beautiful, well-fitting, and high-end bras and they are guaranteed to make you look and feel fabulous. There are many important factors to look at when a woman is buying a bra. The most important thing is the fit. The cup must fit correctly. The boob must sit snugly, comfortably inside the cup without giving a second boob to poke out the top. So instead of having two well-fitting boobs, you've got four that are divided in two by the seam here. The cup needs to fit very, very important that this fits snugly and well under the bust. The elastic here should be tight but not so tight that she's constricted and suffocating. Very, very important shoulder strap that that should be at the right adjustment, and this is why they are adjustable. There is no point having it so high that your boobs are under your chin, but there again, no point having it so loose that the shoulder strap falls off all the time. If, Charlene, if you could just turn around for me, my love. Very important, really start off with your bra on the middle setting when you're buying it, and then you can adjust it. We've done it here for aesthetic reasons on the tightest. Very important that this is not riding up the back, it should be sitting firmly and comfortably in the middle, and it's usually quite a good idea to have the strap adjustment about halfway down, so as your elastic starts getting looser you can tighten it up. Charlotte, if you could turn back round if again, um, very important that this is sitting well in the middle, that there's no gapping, and that it feels comfortable. If you are a 34B and your bra says 34C, it doesn't matter what the label says. It's very important to wear the size that fits you, and sometimes you need to try 2 or 3 or 10, however many it takes. Try them on and see that they fit you, and it's what fits you and what you feel comfortable in that is important. Here's a 38DD just to show you that someone of a slightly bigger bust can also wear beautiful bras. If you're going to wear a beautiful dress, wear a beautiful bra that goes with it. Wear colour, colour makes you feel good. It will make you feel more confident and you can be a purple pussycat. I think it's important for a plus-size lady to have underwear that fits well, but then I think it's important for everyone to have well-fitting underwear. Certainly for a plus-size lady, there is more to hold in place. So she needs to wear underwear that will give her the support around the middle. It must have wider straps, otherwise she's carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders. It needs to have very good straps, well-adjusting straps, so she can adjust them as high or as low as she needs them. The boobs need to be in the right place, not under her chin, not down by her belly button. So it's very, very important that she feels good in her underwear, but then I think it's very important for anyone to feel good in their underwear. It's It's about having the self-esteem to know, "I can look good in this. I can look good even though I'm a size 18 or 20 or however big." A big woman, just because she's big, doesn't mean that she's not beautiful, and there are plenty of women out there who have the confidence and have that glamour regardless of their size. Purple is fabulous, but everybody needs a really good nude bra. In their collection. A fabulous nude bra, fits under everything, it's perfect to wear under all white shirts, t-shirts. It does give that little glamour, and there is nothing more glamorous than this beautiful shade of oyster. Again, great fitting bra, deep plunge, great straps, great adjustment, and very, very pretty embellishment, but not so embellished that you can't wear it under a t-shirt or just a very plain white shirt. When you're losing weight, your bra size will change, and thinking slimmer starts with your foundation wear. It starts with your underwear. You dress from the inside out. There are days when you need to have beautiful underwear because it needs to feel good. You need to feel good from the inside out. It's very important to wear the correct underwear for the correct purpose. I'm a big advocate of Sports underwear. If you're going to the gym, wear a sports bra. If you're going on a hot date, well, you need to wear something like this. There's no point wearing a sports bra on a hot date. And to think slim, if you have your underwear holding you in, giving you a good shape, your clothes will look better. And whatever size you are, the better your clothes look, the better you will look. And your clothes cannot look good when you're wearing lumpy and badly fitting underwear. Thinking slimmer is about standing up straight, having better posture. Through better posture alone, you can be 5 pounds thinner, and certainly there are many lingerie products, shapewear, that will make that promise of making you 5 pounds, 10 pounds lighter, or they give the illusion of being that much lighter. But again, good underwear under your clothes will give you that thinking slimmer feeling. Stand up straight, have an air, wear your makeup, put your lipstick on, and it's about having self-esteem. It's about loving yourself that little bit more. And when you're wearing a good bra, you have to stand up that little bit taller, you have to stand a bit straighter, and you do feel slimmer. I hope my advice has helped you today, and I hope you'll be wearing the right size bra from now on. Whatever your size and however you're feeling, wear something glamorous and make sure it fits you properly.
