So what's the difference between Noom and Slimpod? It's a question that I am being asked all the time at the moment, so I thought I'd address it right now and get rid of the confusion. So behavioural change and its link to weight loss is something that is being really overused by slimming companies right now, and because they've decided to distance themselves from dieting, which has just become a dirty word, Noom says it's a behavioural change app and SlimPod is too. So what is the difference? Before I begin, I just want to say I'm not disrespecting anybody or criticising any other weight loss programme. I am not saying SlimPod is better than Noom. I'm just giving you facts and the differences to allay any confusion. So let me begin with the biggest single difference. Noom works with your conscious mind, but SlimPod works with your whole mind and some of your brain too. So this means that with Noom, you work— you have to put conscious effort into your behaviour change. Its system uses mindfulness and some other conscious cognitive techniques, but you have to spend time focusing on changing your behaviour and your beliefs and things like that. A lot of people feel happy doing this in this way and they feel that they're in control when they have to input daily information on their app, so that's all cool. Whereas with Slimpod, there's a big difference and yes, it works with your conscious mind because it has coaching and, and several other things like group challenges, etc., but importantly importantly and uniquely, it works with your subconscious, which is where habits are generated and processed and your automatic and instinctive behaviors, behaviors are stored. The subconscious is also where your limiting beliefs and emotions are stored. Slimpod gently changes your behavior without you knowing too much about it or putting much effort in at all, and this is why we ask you to record your changes and your wins at the end of each day, literally a 20-second thing. You are effortlessly changing your eating habits with SlimPod. Also, over time, SlimPod reverses your limiting beliefs and your bad habits that you might have accumulated— well, will have accumulated over many years. It also helps you, helps to take the emotion out of eating and giving you a fighting chance to take back control of your eating because it's emotion that is the big— emotion and triggers that are the big drivers for a lot of people who have lost control of their eating. They're literally emotional eaters. So Slimpod helps to unravel all of that emotion. Noom focuses on food and calories, and you have to track what you eat every single day. Slimpod doesn't tell you what to eat at all, or it doesn't include a food plan or a diet or eating plan of any description, because we believe deep down inside you've learned what's healthy and what isn't, but you've just stopped trusting yourself. And you have literally, um, you know, you, you, you know when you— you know that vegetables and, and, and, and protein, etc., is healthy, and you know that sweet stuff and donuts are not. So deep down inside, we all know what's healthy, and, um, and There is an awful lot of confusion about food, but SlimPod gently guides your subconscious to help you to want to choose healthier options, and it helps you lose the desire for the snacks and the sweet stuff, and they— this happens naturally and automatically. Also, the way the mind works is that is that what's on your mind is brought to mind. So if you're focusing on food most of the time by just tracking every day what you're eating, then food is lodged firmly on the front of your mind and you are— and it can almost become obsessive because when you are tracking food, you are thinking about the food that you can have and you're thinking about the that you can't have because really whether it's good or bad food, it's all food. Your subconscious doesn't differentiate. So Slimpod helps to put the food at the back of your mind so you're not constantly thinking about it. Noom asks you to step on the scales as a way of tracking your weight loss and I think that you need to do that every day. SlimPod asks you to stay away from the scales unless you find them motivate— they motivate you. For the vast majority of people, the scales have become a trigger for emotional eating, or, you know, it just interferes with mood. So the scales— I find that the scales are more damaging than they are of use, especially if you have done done this for a long, long time. They can dictate your moods. We believe that there are plenty of other ways for tracking how you're doing that don't trigger your emotions or eating. So there you go. It's a quick summary of how Noom works and how SlimPod works and how they are both totally different from each other. I hope that helps.
