Ultra-processed foods aren't all bad, and cutting them out completely backfires. The 80/20 approach works better: eat nutrient-dense foods most of the time, allow yourself occasional treats, and swap UPFs for healthier versions when you can.

I think everybody knows that ultra-processed food is not the best thing to eat, but should we cut them out? I'd say reduce when you can, because cutting them out all at once can actually increase cravings. So make healthier swaps, and remember, small amounts can still fit into a healthy diet. I'm very much an 80/20 person— 80% healthy food and the odd little treat occasionally.
