Apollonian Temples: End of the Greek Adventure

Sol Brah explores ancient Apollo temples across Delos and Santorini, reciting Homeric hymns at the ruins while documenting cliff jumps, local food, and his philosophy that tanning is vibrational energy. The video mixes archaeology with wellness advocacy and an unreleased Aurum Health product.

Looks like we got some sunlight. Yes, yes! Okay, we are looking quite nice now. You park the car near the harbor, get a couple, uh, drinks, juices, and coffees in. Uh, not sure I'll have that much time for work, but maybe on the uh, on the ferry over there as well. And then we shall be on our way to Delos, Island of Apollo. Let's go! The port of Mykonos. Some great boats around, check this out. Alright, we made it to the island of Delos, uh, pretty cool. See these ancient pillars and things. We can go right to the top, so I'm going to head up there. Hopefully there won't be anyone else. I'll be quite speedy to walk up, uh, more than most of these boomers. So let's go check it out up there. So I'm about to stand in the theater. You can imagine they would have had great debates, shows, rituals even here. Really cool to stand Where they stood.
Awesome.
"House of the Dolphins." Obviously dolphins were very significant, still are, but very significant in mythology of ancient Greece. I personally have the opinion that we somehow are derived from dolphins or have an ancient connection with dolphins. Humans of the sea. It's obviously been reinforced with modern stuff, but wow. So in these 4 rooms there's 4 different mosaics, so I'll try to snake my phone in so you can see them.
Dolphins.
Bit of 3D art here. That one is incredibly detailed. Awesome! Elite fuel.
This is the Homeric hymn to Apollo, which I thought would be fitting to read. Blessed Pan, come propitious to my prayer, illustrious power whom Memphian tribes revere, slayer of Tyteus and the god of health, Lyxorion, Lykorion, Phoebus, fruitful source of wealth. Spermatic, golden-liard, the field from thee receives its constant rich fertility. Titanic, Grunian, Sminthian, thee I sing, python-destroying, hallowed Delphian king. Rural, light-bearer, and the muses' head, noble and lovely, armed with arrows dread. Far-darting, Bacchian, Twofold and divine, power far diffused and course oblique is thine. O Delian King, whose light-producing eye views all within and all beneath the sky, whose locks are gold, whose oracles are sure, who omens good reveals and precepts pure, hear me entreating for the humankind, hear and be present with benignant mind. For thou surveyest this boundless aether all, and every part of this terrestrial ball. Abundant, blessed, and thy piercing sight extends beneath the gloomy silent night. Beyond the darkness, starry-eyed, profound, the stable roots deep fixed by thee are found. The world's wide bounds, all flourishing, are thine. Thyself all the source and end divine. 'Tis thine all nature's music to inspire with various-sounding harmonizing lyre. Now the last string thou tunft to sweet accord, divinely warbling now the highest chord. The immortal golden lyre, now touched by thee, responsive yields a Dorian melody. All nature's tribes to thee their difference owe, and changing seasons from thy music flow. Flow. Hence, mixed by thee in equal parts, advance summer and winter in alternate dance. This claims the highest, that the lowest string, the Dorian measure, tunes the lovely spring. Hence, by mankind, Pan royal, two-horned named, emitting whistling winds through Syrinx famed, since to thy care the figured seals consigned, which stamps the world with forms of every kind. Hear me, blessed power, and in these rites rejoice and save thy mystics with a suppliant voice.
Hail Apollo!
Pretty powerful hymn, prayer thing that was written by Homer. Not sure, it's the first time I've kind of looked into that, so I don't know if I got the cadence right.
I know it's meant to be tongue. So pretty cool, and I hope Apollo appreciated my hymn to him. So there's one other thing that I wanted to check out, which is these lion statues. I can see them down yonder, so we'll just hop on down to them, check them out, and then we're back on the ferry back to Mykonos. Some lady just walked past me and goes Hercules. Here they are, the Naxian lions. Check them out, that's really cool. You have a message for me? Got a little bit roasted by the sun, but that's fine.
It just means that we have more bryll inside us.
We don't worry about sunburns. On a serious note, sunburn is not something to worry about. People like, yeah, a tan is good, sunlight is good, but you don't— you don't want to get sunburned. It doesn't matter. It does not give you skin cancer. Uh, it's really not something to worry about. Obviously not— it's not ideal if you do a severe one, but if you're healthy, your diet is good, you're not getting severe sunburn, you'll go a little red like me here, and then tomorrow it'll be gone and you'll have a nice tan left over. Don't worry about sunburns. I'm also feeling an affogato, so I'm gonna go get an affogato, do some work, ocean swim, maybe chill on the beach some more, and then, uh, maybe the saltwater sauna place again. We'll see. Okay, we are back home and this water looks absolutely delightful. Just going to go take a dip. What I just showed you was the Aurum Health flagship product. It's a little liquid something, but I'm not going to tell you what it is yet. Stay tuned, follow Aurum Health Instagram for updates. There's an outdoor gym, a little walk from my place. Gonna go check it out, get a little pump ski on, uh, just a little one, just get the blood flowing. I've walked a lot today, but obviously we all know that's not the same as getting a pump on. So we'll hit that, then I want to find somewhere with oysters, get some oysters, and then we've got to book a bit of travel for tomorrow. I think it's about time I get new shoes. Just absolutely scunted my toe. No blood, but it is hurting. And then this one is just gone on here as well. Hello!
So new shoes needed.
So this is what we're working with. Little bike Oh, okay, we've got the leg, leg mover, a little chest press. So I'm just gonna do all these over and over again. Not much weight to them, it works off body weight, I guess. I am a bit heavy right now. Let me help. Oh, leg press.
Cool.
Guys, I've mentioned this before, but the marginal benefit of doing a very small amount of exercise is so, so much higher than doing none. So even though I did 2 sets of most of those things, I was still pushing myself to where I couldn't do anymore. Even though it doesn't take much time, even though it's not like a huge workout that I usually do, The fact that I'm doing it and pushing it to that red line, it's just so powerful. Uh, the heart's going to be going, the blood is going, the muscles are going to be fatigued. Uh, it's like doing a sprint, but the jump from zero to that is like infinite. It's really big. So keep that in mind, get something done rather than nothing. Well, this is the restaurant that I came to and it's closed, looks like. Maybe it's out of season or something. Okay, it's not closed. I was looking at the wrong thing. It's pretty funny. I'm the only one here. Got the whole place to myself. Stunning though. Interesting experience, all by myself. All to myself, should I say. Usually you have to pay good money to blank out the entire restaurant for yourself, but I got it for free. Thank you, big guy. All right, home. Put the feet up, relax, read, and then sleep. Grand rising. We are at Cholesma again because it's delicious here. Grabbing breakfast and then heading on the ferry to Mykonos. It's a few hours, so I'm going— sorry, to Santorini from Mykonos. It's a couple hours. We'll get some work done and then see what we have in store. All right guys, we made it to Santorini. I have to show you this. This is crazy. Nice little dome area here for the room, but outside is where it gets even better. Yeah, private jacuzzi. And here we are. Pretty sweet. Got my— probably actually can't ball sun here, there's a few people around and stuff, but I can lay out, get tan, pretty much do everything else. I'm pretty hungry. Got half of an enormous pomegranate here, so help fuel our suntanning. Guys, tanning is not a waste of time. It's not lazy, because the more that you tan, the more of the vibrational energy you're absorbing from the sun. The higher that is, the better your life is, the healthier you are, the more good you can do for other people. So really, tanning is one of the most selfless things you can do in this life. Let's get a tan. You'll be better looking. Everyone around you is going to be able to appreciate that a lot more. So I'm doing it for other people, actually. So should you. It's actually a little confusing how to get down. There's all these little twisting side paths and stairs. I think I got it. Oh, we got some donkeys. Hello. Hello. We reckon definitely a good jump-off spot here. Just had a few cliff jumps, had to climb up to bloody Mount Doom to get a good angle. So now we have the privilege of using our legs to get all the way back up. Tell you what, team, I am— I'm not gonna say it— I have unlimited energy. But we're gonna still get an early night's sleep tonight. We're gonna go find some tartare of some kind, some raw meat, have a Greek salad before that, and then watch the sunset, the rest of the sunset. And that'll be our first Evening in Santorini done. Epic cliff jump spot underwater. Some of the most clear water I've ever seen in my life. I've seen a lot of clear water, you know, it's up there for sure. But great time, great time. That's what we want. Tata. Thank you. Might have to take a tasty little jacuzzi to close out the evening. Oh yeah, nice and warm. See if there's chlorine. Don't smell chlorine, so we're in. Grand rising indeed, friends. It's a beautiful morning. We slept in a little as I haven't got much sleep last few nights. So now we're going to eat this delicious fruit plate and sunbathe to wake up. I won't tell a fib, but today I've had a headache, uh, just feel— felt super tired. So really all I did was get an orange juice, sleep, and suntan. Uh, strange cuz this doesn't really happen to be ever. Who knows, who knows. But that's what today's been like. And we're gonna go down to the bottom, still gonna swim in and hike back up. And at least we've moved, done our, our piece. Sometimes, sometimes you can't work, sometimes you can't concentrate, sometimes all you can do is sleep. It is where it is. I have a very low rate of that in my life. So when your body needs it, just trust that it's happening for a reason. I'm interested in what they're brewing here. Something in the sun, and this huge glass bottle. Oh, hello!
Pretty cool.
That's how I would like to brew my tea. Hey, what's good? Best seat in the house. So this, in my opinion, is the best way to have oysters. You can see there the raw onion. It's called mignonette, French. It's like a vinegar fresh raw onion on top, and that's it. And then lemon as well. Incredible.
