Do you have foot, ankle, or hip pain? It could be due to stuffing your feet in foot prisons, aka shoes, for most of your life. Growing up as kids, we were pushed into running shoes for sports or tight shoes for school. A lot of hip, knee pain, or ankle issues can be solved once you make the shift to barefoot. Go without shoes as much as possible. When you start to move barefoot, all the little unused muscles in your feet and ankles get back into the swing of things. Your feet can expand like they are meant to. To start, walk barefoot. Once you've become used to that, try smaller runs than you would usually do and build up gradually. Run on grass and sand first. Whenever you're without shoes, try expanding your toes and increasing the mind-muscle connection you have with your foot. Being barefoot will translate to improved athleticism, a better connection to the earth, and a newfound sense of awareness in the body.
