Everybody's always asking me, how do you get into aviation? Well, here's one way. This morning, I'm at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a world-renowned school that specializes in aviation, aerospace, and engineering. Today, I'm meeting Dr. McCormick, who's giving me a tour of the Air Traffic Management program. It focuses on training students to manage aircraft movement safely in a controlled airspace and at airports. This is crucial for coordinating thousands of daily flights in today's crowded skies. On the tour, I watched students using advanced simulators that mimic real control towers and radar rooms. This kind of hands-on training is what prepares the next generation of aviation professionals. And here's the kicker: you can get a 2-year associate degree that costs about $80,000, and you have a good chance that the U.S. government student loans or other loan sources will loan you that money. You're guaranteed almost to be hired by the FAA, the Federal Aviation Administration, with salaries up to $160,000 a year right out of university. And the thing is, if you're in your 20s, you're the ideal age to get hired by the FAA. I'm not a mathematician, but Those numbers are a no-brainer. If you're interested, check out Embry-Riddle's website and make sure to follow to see what I'm up to next.
