How to sell a $35,000,000 corporate jet.

Steve Varsano walks a first-time jet buyer through a $35 million purchase decision. The Gulfstream G900LX costs around $40 million new, while a used one runs $20 million. The Bombardier 8X flies 1,800 nautical miles farther, but the G900LX handles short fields better for the buyer's Vegas and East Coast trips.

What's your budget? You're thinking in your head? $35 million.
How much did you say? I'm sorry. $35 million.
Which one you think you're focusing on? The 900 LX? Yeah. Brand new, they're in the $40 million range, but in the pre-owned market, you're probably talking about in the $20 million up. When do you think you're going to be ready to actually pull the trigger to buy something?
I would say when I retire. Okay. Kind of like a used car, I'm assuming, right? The less hours, the better.
The average hours on an airplane is about 400 hours a year. 10-year-old airplane would have 4,000 hours. If it has 5,000 or 6,000, it's a little bit more, and if it's You're probably partial to Gulfstreams, but I like them. It's not that I'm partial to Gulfstreams. Everybody said, what's the best? Question is, everybody has to look at what the best means to them. A Falcon has got the best short-field performance. The Gulfstream has the longest range. Bombardier just has the big cabin. It really depends on what you really want to say what is the best. Your average trip is just going to be going across the U.S., or are you going to be doing any international travel?
Honestly, most of it's going to be back and forth, Vegas, Chicago, and then the East Coast.
And you think the average number 3, 4, 5 people?
4, 5, 6, 7, 8. And Steve, what's the difference between the 8X and the 900 LX?
$20 million on a new price, but the 8X can do about 6,400 nautical miles and a 900 LX is about 4,500 nautical miles. You're about 1,800 miles more range.
Thanks for the deal.

Thank you very much. This is a guy who called off an advertisement and he's looking to buy his first airplane, but he works for a big multinational company. I think he was a high-level executive that's operated airplanes and flown on them for many, many years. Legitimate potential buyer. I think sometime in the first quarter of '25, they're going to come to us and give us a mandate to buy them a Falcon jet. If you want to hear more, make sure you click follow for more information.
