James Bond movies draw viewers not because they want to be spies, but because the films showcase glamorous airplanes. The movies act as a de facto showroom for aviation, exposing audiences to flight and generating interest in both careers and airplane sales.
Not everybody who watches a James Bond film wants to be a spy. I think people watch it because they just like the interaction. It's about airplanes, which is a bit of a sexy business. It's a business that not many people know about, and especially younger generation, and it's sort of demystifying something that there's not much information about it. I think it's a combination of being about airplanes, it's about the showroom approach, it's about youth learning about some potential opportunities for them to get involved in, and of course it's also about selling airplanes.
