Steve Varsano, who has sold corporate jets for four decades, says electric flying cars will get certified within a year and reshape aviation. They'll handle short trips cheaper and quieter than helicopters, eventually cutting demand for smaller jets as people get used to air commuting.

I started selling corporate jets over 40 years ago, and a lot changed in that time. Well, what's going to happen in the future? I think there's a big involvement in these eVTOLs, which are these electric vertical takeoff and landing passenger-carrying drones or flying cars. And those are going to have a big impact on the smaller jets and the helicopters. They're going to start being used for shorter range trips that are going to be much more economical, quieter, more eco-friendly. And that is starting now. In the next year, you're going to see a couple of these being certified, put into test use. And in the next couple years you're going to start seeing these things put in regulars. And for shorter range trips, it's going to become very popular, and that is going to have a big impact on familiarization with the general public being able to use air transportation on their day-to-day transport needs.
