Steve Varsano, a private jet sales veteran, expected to teach Kickstart Global students but got surprised by their sharp questions about aviation's future instead. He realized that after decades in the business, he still had things to learn from people just starting out.
I thought today was just another day selling private jets, but then a group of students from Kickstart Global had a visit scheduled that I forgot about and completely flipped the script on me. A school group was visiting to learn about the business of selling private jets. I've been in this industry for decades. I thought I'd be the one doing all the teaching, expecting a simple Q&A, but these students, they came prepared.
What is something you can tell us that is like counterintuitive or something like that people don't know about?
What do you think the future of aviation and flying is going to look like?
I found myself explaining concepts I hadn't even thought about in years. I was learning just as much for them as they were for me. Experience teaches a lot, but sometimes a new perspective can teach you even more. If you want to keep winning, never stop learning.
