A three-step 90-second protocol to stop anxiety spirals: name the feeling out loud, do a physiological sigh (two quick nose inhales, long mouth exhale, three times), then slow breathing (inhale 4 counts, exhale 7-8) while optionally splashing cold water on your wrists to trigger the dive reflex and lower your heart rate.

Last episode, we talked about why your nervous system treats a PCS like a personal rejection. Today, I'm giving you the tool. You have 90 seconds. That is genuinely all it takes to interrupt a spiral. Let's do it together right now. Step 1: Name it out loud. Just say, "I'm spiraling right now." It sounds almost too simple, but naming what you're feeling calms the amygdala, the alarm system in your brain that's currently going off like a fire drill. Step 2: The Physiological Sigh. Two quick inhales through your nose, one long, slow exhale through your mouth. Do that 3 times. This is the fastest known way to drop stress in real time, and you can do it holding a laundry basket in the garage. Nobody has to know. Step 3: Slow it down. Breathe in for 4 counts and out for 7 or 8. The exhale needs to be longer than the inhale every single time, because that's what actually stimulates your vagus nerve and shifts your body out of fight or flight and into calm. Do that for about 60 seconds, and if you have access to water, splash some cold water on your wrists or your face. It triggers something called the mammalian dive reflex, and it can drop your heart rate almost instantly. That's the whole reset. Name it, sigh it out, breathe slow, cool it down if you can. 90 seconds and your nervous system has a real shot at coming back online before you say something you'll want to take back. Save this video. You are going to want it on the hard day, not just today. Next episode, we're talking about what to do when you're already out in public and can't exactly lie on the floor and breathe. I'll see you there.
