Styling my hair with a NEW fun Tool.

Tami Grgas shows how to use a heated styling tool for big, fluffy curls like Pat Benatar's. Start with damp hair, curl close to the scalp for volume, clip sections to cool, and the style holds two to three days.

I think I got that right. Hello, Tami Grgas here. I got a new tool for my hair that I am absolutely loving, and there's a few things that I've discovered about it. Okay, it's one of these guys. All right, and I am a girl of the '80s. I like big fluffy round curls. I don't like it to be 1980s huge, but I like it to be fluffy, you know, I'm kind of in the middle there maybe. But anyways, with this guy, what I've done so far today is I had a shower and I put some product in my hair and I've let my hair dry naturally. It's a little bit damp right now. I would not recommend using this from wet to dry. Because that's a lot of heat on your hair. That's a lot— like, it's just ultimately it's going to be more damaging to do that. So I am going to take this and use it in my hair while it's damp. It's going to be noisy, but you can—
Sorry.
It's going to be very noisy, but you can watch what I'm doing, okay? And I'll explain afterwards.
it like the base is right here, and I'm taking it in front of the base and curling it and trying to get it as close to my scalp as I can, and that's going to give me more volume. Okay, now one of the things that I recommend with this, because this is heating up the hair, I want to hold it here and maybe— let me see if I got a clip here— take some kind of a clip and just pin it up there to let it cool off in that bubble, okay? I like my hair to flip out at the back a little bit, so that's why I'm doing this. And I'm just gonna inch my way around gathering hair as I go. I'm kind of right at the middle right now, and I'm going to come back this way. I'm going to do the same thing over here. Sorry, got my cord tangled. So you can see I'm holding this straight up. The reason I'm doing that is because my bangs are actually a little bit long right now, and I just don't feel like cutting them right now.
So that's basically where this sits. I like to let it cool off all the way. Now With your hair, if you had to do something like this early in the morning and get to work type of thing, I would dump my head upside down, blow dry it so that it's like almost 100% dry, and then finish with this guy. Okay, um, if you start from wet, number one, it's going to be more damaging to the hair, and number two, it's going to take a lot longer, a lot longer to dry. So, uh, let me see if I can find some hairspray. Hold on. A little bit of hairspray here. Once this has dried a little bit, I just like to do a very light layer of hairspray over top of everything, and then I like to let that dry. So a lot of times, if I'm up in my bathroom doing this, I will do this, get this all set like this, do a little bit of hairspray, and then I'll like brush my teeth or put on some makeup if I wore makeup. I don't really wear makeup anymore, um, not because I don't have to, it's just because I don't like to. Anyways, um, so now I'm waiting for the hairspray to dry. Okay, I'm going to take this guy out now. The magic of this— this is my magic, okay? I'm gonna dump it upside down and shake it out, okay? This is what I like to call my Pat Benatar look. If you're of the '80s at all, you know who Pat Benatar is. Come on, loved her! Anyway, here I go, okay? So I'm going upside down, shaking it out with my fingers. Get my blondes to go the right way. So when you get hair that's being finicky, this is where hairspray really comes in handy. Just tell it over there. Lay down. You, lay down. You. Thank you. Stay there.
So there.
Basically, this hairstyle will stay manageable for a couple of days. In the morning, if it flattens out when I'm sleeping or does anything weird like that, then I'll just turn this on again and run it through and fluff it up, and then hairspray again. No big deal. I like to have my hair last me at least 2 days. Some people like to go 3 days, and that's fine. When I play with my natural curl, I have a natural wave in my hair, and I can make it a little bit curlier sometimes. I do do that. I play with it and do silly things, which the next time I try to play with it, I'll show you. And sometimes the aftermath is not so good, but sometimes it's really good. So it's about finding different tools and trying different things, and that's what I do a lot. So I will try to make more videos of this and get them out to the world and show you some tips and tricks that you can do on your own hair. So yeah, thank you, bye! Or should I say bye-bye? Bye-bye!
